Carlos Sainth appeared unhappy with the strategy followed by Ferrari at the Portuguese Grand Prix.

The Spanish driver finished in eleventh place, with his teammate Charles Leclerc finishing in sixth place.

Characteristically, Saint said: "Honestly, the pace all weekend was good. I also do not think that the pace of the race was the issue, but the fact that we made a mistake with the strategy of pushing the tires ".

He added: "We pressed Lando and went for the undercut, but unfortunately we did not succeed. We got behind a Williams, I had to push very hard. We know how important these three rounds are at the beginning of each stint and I tried very hard to get the position. We were the first to stop for a change in the middle tire and it did not work in our car ".

Ο Κάρλος Σάινθ εμφανίστηκε δυσαρεστημένος με τη στρατιγική, που ακολούθησε η Ferrari στο Grand Prix της Πορτογαλίας.

Ο Ισπανός πιλότος τερμάτισε στην ενδέκατη θέση, με τον ομόσταβλό του, Σαρλ Λεκλέρ να τερματίζει στην έκτη θέση.

Χαρακτηριστικά, ο Σάινθ δήλωσε: “Ειλικρινά, ο ρυθμός όλο το Σαββατοκύριακο ήταν καλός. Δε νομίζω επίσης ότι ο ρυθμός του αγώνα ήταν το ζήτημα, αλλά το γεγονός ότι κάναμε λάθος με τη στρατηγική να πιέζουμε τα ελαστικά”.

Και συμπλήρωσε: “Πιέσαμε τον Λάντο και πήγαμε για το undercut, αλλά δυστυχώς δεν το πετύχαμε. Βγήκαμε πίσω από μια Williams, έπρεπε να πιέσω πολύ σκληρά. Γνωρίζουμε πόσο σημαντικοί είναι αυτοί οι τρεις γύροι στην αρχή κάθε stint και προσπάθησα πολύ σκληρά για να πάρω τη θέση. Ήμασταν οι πρώτοι που σταματήσαμε για αλλαγή σε μεσαία γόμα και αυτή δεν είχε απόδοση στο αυτοκίνητό μας”.
