A few days after winning the championship with Lille, Christophe Gatier confirmed that he is leaving the club, with more likely destinations being Nis, Lyon and Napoli.
Christophe Gatier's tenure in Lille has reached its peak. Despite the financial problems, the 17th place in which he finished his first season at the helm in 2018 and the extremely low budget from Paris Saint-Germain, Lyon and Monaco, Lilua made the absolute surprise and won this year's championship under his guidance, for for the first time in 10 years. Now, the 55-year-old coach is determined to leave the club having touched the ceiling, something he publicly confirmed in an interview with "Equipe".
Nis has already reportedly approached him with a rich contract to take over the technical leadership, but as he said, among his options are both Lyon (from which Rudy Garcia left) and Napoli, which is in search for a coach after the departure of Gennaro Gattuso and his announcement from Fiorentina.

Λίγες μέρες μετά την κατάκτηση του πρωταθλήματος με τη Λιλ, ο Κριστόφ Γκατιέ επιβεβαίωσε ότι αποχωρεί από τον σύλλογο, με πιθανότερους προορισμούς τις Νις, Λυών και Νάπολι.
Η θητεία του Κριστόφ Γκατιέ στη Λιλ έφτασε στο απόγειό της. Παρά τα οικονομικά προβλήματα, τη 17η θέση στην οποία τερμάτισε στην πρώτη του σεζόν στο τιμόνι το 2018 και το εξαιρετικά χαμηλότερο μπάτζετ από Παρί Σεν Ζερμέν, Λυών και Μονακό, οι Λιλουά έκαναν την απόλυτη έκπληξη και κατέκτησαν το φετινό πρωτάθλημα υπό τις οδηγίες του, για πρώτη φορά μετά από 10 χρόνια. Πλέον, ο 55χρονος τεχνικός είναι αποφασισμένος να αποχωρήσει από τον σύλλογο έχοντας ακουμπήσει ταβάνι, κάτι που επιβεβαίωσε δημόσια μέσω συνέντευξής του στην «Equipe».
Ήδη η Νις φέρεται να τον έχει προσεγγίσει με πλουσιοπάροχο συμβόλαιο για να αναλάβει την τεχνική ηγεσία, αλλά όπως ανέφερε ο ίδιος, ανάμεσα στις επιλογές του βρίσκεται τόσο η Λυών (από την οποία αποχώρησε ο Ρουντί Γκαρσιά), όσο και η Νάπολι, που βρίσκεται σε αναζήτηση προπονητή μετά την αποχώρηση του Τζενάρο Γκατούζο και την ανακοίνωσή του από τη Φιορεντίνα.
