Τρίτη νίκη σε ισάριθμους αγώνες στο Basketball Champions League για την ΑΕΚ, που επικράτησε 83-81 της Σολέ στο κλειστό του ΟΑΚΑ.

Αγχώθηκε πολύ, το έκανε… θρίλερ, αλλά στο τέλος η ΑΕΚ χαμογέλασε. Η Ένωση νίκησε 83-81 τη Σολέ στο άδειο κλειστό των Ολυμπιακών εγκαταστάσεων και κάνοντας το «3 στα 3», παρέμεινε στη θέση του οδηγού στον Γ’ όμιλο του Basketball Champions League. Για τους Γάλλους, αυτή ήταν η τρίτη ήττα σε ισάριθμους αγώνες.

Κορυφαίοι των νικητών ήταν οι Γιανίκ Μορέιρα με 21 πόντους / 4 ριμπάουντ και Ματ Λοτζέσκι με 18 πόντους / 4 ριμπάουντ / 3 ασίστ. Ο Λάνγκφορντ είχε 13 πόντους, αλλά και 1/4 βολές στο τέλος, που λίγο έλειψε να στοιχίσουν, ενώ εξαιρετική ήταν και η παρουσία του Ματσιούλις με 8 πόντους / 8 ριμπάουντ. Από πλευράς ηττημένων, πρώτος σκόρερ ήταν με 22 πόντους ο Κρόμαχ, ενώ κορυφαίος κάνοντας νταμπλ-νταμπλ ήταν ο Ντιαρά με 19 πόντους / 12 ριμπάουντ.

Πλέον, η ΑΕΚ αρχίζει τα ταξίδια στον όμιλο, αφού οι επόμενες τρεις υποχρεώσεις είναι εκτός έδρας. Η Ένωση θα αντιμετωπίσει κατά σειρά τις Σολέ (15/12), Χάποελ Χολόν (5/1) και Τσμόκι Μινσκ (20/1).

Ο Λάνγκφορντ με 8 πόντους «τραβούσε το κουπί» για την Ένωση, ενώ από πλευράς φιλοξενούμενων, Μπλέικς και Ντιαρά είχαν 7 και 6 πόντους αντίστοιχα στο φινάλε του πρώτου δεκαλέπτου (21-20).

Στην αρχή της δεύτερης περιόδου, οι παίκτες του Ηλία Παπαθεοδώρου έσφιξαν πολύ την άμυνα και παίζοντας ομαδικά στην επίθεση, βγάζοντας τις καλύτερες επιλογές, κατάφεραν να «τρέξουν» ένα επιμέρους 16-4 και να δημιουργήσουν διψήφια διαφορά πόντων (37-24) στο 15’. Όμως, με πέντε λάθη στο δεύτερο μισό, η Ένωση επέτρεψε στη Σολέ να μειώσει κατά το ήμισυ τη διαφορά και να ξαναμπεί στο παιχνίδι, με το ημίχρονο να ολοκληρώνεται με σκορ 43-37.

Όπως τελείωσε το πρώτο ημίχρονο, άρχισε το δεύτερο, με τη Σολέ να «τρέχει» σερί 11-3 στο πρώτο τρίλεπτο και να ανατρέπει το σκορ (46-48). Κάπου εκεί, η ΑΕΚ «ξύπνησε» και με καλάθι του Λάνγκφορντ και δύο τρίποντες «βόμβες» από Λοτζέσκι και Ματσιούλις, πέρασε εκ νέου μπροστά με 54-51. Ωστόσο, το προβάδισμα ήταν εύθραυστο και όσο δεν βελτίωνε τις αμυντικές επιδόσεις της, δεν μπορούσε να ξεφύγει, με το τρίτο δεκάλεπτο να κλείνει με 61-58. Ο Λοτζέσκι ήταν πρώτος σκόρερ με 16 πόντους, έχοντας συμπαραστάτη σε αυτό το δεκάλεπτο τον Μορέιρα, που είχε φτάσει τους 10.

Ο Μορέιρα ήταν ο πρωταγωνιστής της Ένωσης και στα πρώτα λεπτά της τελευταίας περιόδου, αφού πέτυχε 9 συνεχόμενους πόντους, οδηγώντας εκ του ασφαλούς την ομάδα του, που δημιούργησε και μια διαφορά επτά πόντων στο 33’ (70-63). Οι παίκτες του Ηλία Παπαθεοδώρου κρατούσαν το προβάδισμα με «νύχια και δόντια», αντέχοντας στην πίεση της Σολέ, με τις δύο ομάδες να μπαίνουν στο τελευταίο τρίλεπτο με το σκορ στο 75-71. Η ΑΕΚ διαχειρίστηκε σωστά το μικρό προβάδισμα που είχε και όντας πιο ψύχραιμη, κατάφερε να φτάσει στην κατάκτηση του ροζ φύλλου με τελικό σκορ 83-81.
