Mark Marketh will not return to Valencia

Repsol Honda has officially announced that Mark Marketh is not going to drive to the Valencia Grand Prix, while the possibility of not returning this year is growing significantly.

Initially, Mark Marketh's injury showed that he was not significant. Doctors said he could run even a week later, in the very next Grand Prix since he hit, but things did not turn out that way. Mark lost many races and the rumors that wanted him to return to the first race of Valencia to come, were refuted by Repsol Honda.

The team has officially announced that Mark will not be returning this weekend. Of course, he did not talk about whether he will run or not for the rest of the year, but with only two events left and one already in question, we will probably not see him on the tracks this year. After the next three days, another one follows on the same track (of Valencia, that is) and the final of the season is scheduled for Portimao.

So theoretically we have three games ahead of us, but the three can become two after the recent developments of the coronavirus. The Portuguese government may cancel all scheduled sporting events in the coming weeks and if that happens then Portimao's MotoGP will be affected. We are not yet able to know exactly what will happen, but because the scenario is considered quite probable, we are just waiting to see how the season will develop. Mark Marketh, however, will hardly return for 2020.

*** Δεν θα επιστρέψει στη Βαλένθια ο Μαρκ Μάρκεθ

Η Repsol Honda ανακοίνωσε επίσημα ότι ο Μαρκ Μάρκεθ δεν πρόκειται να οδηγήσει στο Γκραν Πρι της Βαλένθια, ενώ το ενδεχόμενο να μην επιστρέψει φέτος, μεγαλώνει σημαντικά. 

Αρχικά ο τραυματισμός του Μαρκ Μάρκεθ, έδειχνε ότι δεν είναι σημαντικός. Οι γιατροί έλεγαν ότι θα μπορούσε να τρέξει ακόμη και μια εβδομάδα μετά, στο ακριβώς επόμενο Γκραν Πρι από αυτό που χτύπησε, τα πράγματα όμως δεν έγιναν έτσι. Ο Μαρκ έχασε πολλούς αγώνες και οι φήμες που τον ήθελαν να επιστρέφει στον πρώτο αγώνα της Βαλένθια που έρχεται, διαψεύστηκαν από τη Repsol Honda. 

Η ομάδα ανακοίνωσε επίσημα ότι ο Μαρκ δεν επιστρέφει αυτό το Σαββατοκύριακο. Βέβαια, δεν μίλησε για το αν θα τρέξει ή όχι στο υπόλοιπο της χρονιάς, όμως με μόνο δύο διοργανώσεις να απομένουν και η μια να βρίσκεται ήδη υπό αμφισβήτηση, μάλλον δεν θα τον δούμε στις πίστες φέτος. Μετά το ερχόμενο τριήμερο, ακολουθεί άλλο ένα στην ίδια πίστα (της Βαλένθια, δηλαδή) και το φινάλε της σεζόν έχει προγραμματιστεί για το Πορτιμάο. 

Θεωρητικά λοιπόν έχουμε τρεις αγώνες μπροστά μας, όμως οι τρεις μπορεί να γίνουν δύο ύστερα από τις πρόσφατες εξελίξεις του κορονοϊού. Η κυβέρνηση της Πορτογαλίας ίσως ακυρώσει όλες τις προγραμματισμένες αθλητικές εκδηλώσεις στις επόμενες εβδομάδες και αν συμβεί αυτό, τότε θα επηρεαστεί και το MotoGP του Πορτιμάο. Ακόμη δεν είμαστε σε θέση να γνωρίζουμε τι θα συμβεί ακριβώς, όμως επειδή το σενάριο θεωρείται αρκετά πιθανό, απλώς περιμένουμε για να δούμε πως θα εξελιχθεί η σεζόν. Ο Μαρκ Μάρκεθ πάντως, δύσκολα θα επιστρέψει για το 2020.
