Με τον Ολυμπιακό, έναν χρόνο ακριβώς μετά το εναρκτήριο παιχνίδι του στη σεζόν, να βρίσκεται ακόμη εντός Ευρώπης και να διεκδικεί είσοδο στο Final 8 του Europa League.

Ναι, ήταν 23 Ιουλίου 2019 όταν ο Ολυμπιακός αγωνιζόταν κόντρα στη Βικτόρια Πλζεν στην Τσεχία για τον 2ο προκριματικό γύρο του Champions League. Στο πρώτο παιχνίδι μίας εκπληκτικής σεζόν. Καραϊσκάκης» οι «ερυθρόλευκοι» είναι το αουτσάιντερ, αλλά τίποτα δεν μπορεί να τους σταματήσει από το να ονειρεύονται. Το, ρεαλιστικό, αυτό σενάριο, επιτρέπει στον Ολυμπιακό να αποφύγει έναν γύρο στο UCL. Με τους «ερυθρόλευκους» να εξασφαλίζουν έτσι ευρωπαϊκό όμιλο! Πώς θα γίνει αυτό; Αν και εφόσον μία εκ των Λιόν ή Νάπολι προκριθεί φέτος στο Final 8 του Champions League! Από τη μία οι Γάλλοι έχουν νικήσει στο πρώτο ματς των «16» με 1-0 τη Γιουβέντους και από την άλλη οι «παρτενοπέι» είχαν έρθει ισόπαλοι με σκορ 1-1 εντός έδρας κόντρα στην Μπαρτσελόνα. Αν μία από τις Λιόν-Νάπολι τα καταφέρει, τότε ο Ολυμπιακός θα βγει αρκετά κερδισμένος!

Διότι θα ξεκινήσει κατευθείαν από τα playoffs του Champions League και με αυτόν τον τρόπο θα χρειαστεί να αποκλείσει μόλις έναν αντίπαλο για να βρεθεί στους χρυσοφόρους ομίλους. Ενώ αν δεν τα καταφέρει, θα έχει εξασφαλισμένους τους ομίλους του Europa League!

Αν Λιόν και Νάπολι αποκλειστούν, τότε ο Ολυμπιακός θα ξεκινήσει από τον 3ο προκριματικό γύρο του UCL, καθώς οι άλλες 8 ομάδες (Ρεάλ Μαδρίτης ή Μάντσεστερ Σίτι, Γιουβέντους, Μπαρτσελόνα, Μπάγερν, Αταλάντα, Λειψία, Παρί Σεν Ζερμέν κι Ατλέτικο Μαδρίτης), έχουν εξασφαλισμένη θέση στους ομίλους από τα πρωταθλήματά τους.

Όσον αφορά το καλεντάρι, ο 3ος προκριματικός του Champions League θα διεξαχθεί στις 15-16 Σεπτεμβρίου (μονός αγώνας, η έδρα θα βγει στην κλήρωση), ενώ τα playoffs θα γίνουν στις 22/23 και 29/30 του μηνός (διπλά ματς).
