West Ham started their Carabao Cup obligations with the right, overcoming the obstacle of Portsmouth with 3-1 and getting a ticket to the second round of the competition.

The home team came out strong in the second half, quickly laying the foundations for qualification. In the 50th minute Castellianos found his way to the net for the second time and with his second personal goal he made it 3-1.

Thus, West Ham secured their qualification for the second round of the Carabao Cup, with Mavropanos starting as a starter in his first commitment of the season that will find them in the Championship.

Με τον Κωνσταντίνο Μαυροπάνο στο αρχικό της σχήμα, η Γουέστ Χαμ επικράτησε με 3-1 της Πόρτσμουθ και εξασφάλισε την παρουσία της στον δεύτερο γύρο του Carabao Cup.

Με το δεξί ξεκίνησε τις υποχρεώσεις της στο Carabao Cup η Γουέστ Χαμ, η οποία ξεπέρασε το εμπόδιο της Πόρτσμουθ με 3-1 και πήρε το εισιτήριο για τον δεύτερο γύρο της διοργάνωσης.

Ο Νούνο Εσπίριτο Σάντο επέλεξε τον Κωνσταντίνο Μαυροπάνο στο αρχικό σχήμα των σφυριών, με τον Έλληνα διεθνή στόπερ να παίρνει θέση στο κέντρο της άμυνας δίπλα στον Κίλμαν.

Το παιχνίδι, πάντως, δεν ξεκίνησε ιδανικά για τους γηπεδούχους. Η Πόρτσμουθ ήταν εκείνη που προηγήθηκε στο 33ο λεπτό με τον Σέγκεσιτς, βάζοντας δύσκολα στη Γουέστ Χαμ.

Η απάντηση των σφυριών ήρθε λίγο πριν από την ανάπαυλα και μέσα σε διάστημα δύο λεπτών κατάφεραν να ανατρέψουν πλήρως την κατάσταση. Ο Καστεγιάνος ισοφάρισε σε 1-1 στο 43′, ενώ στο 45′ ο Μπόουεν έφερε τη Γουέστ Χαμ μπροστά στο σκορ.

Οι γηπεδούχοι μπήκαν δυνατά και στο δεύτερο μέρος, βάζοντας γρήγορα τις βάσεις για την πρόκριση. Στο 50′ ο Καστεγιάνος βρήκε για δεύτερη φορά τον δρόμο προς τα δίχτυα και με το δεύτερο προσωπικό του τέρμα διαμόρφωσε το τελικό 3-1.

Έτσι, η Γουέστ Χαμ εξασφάλισε την πρόκρισή της στον δεύτερο γύρο του Carabao Cup, με τον Μαυροπάνο να ξεκινά βασικός στην πρώτη της υποχρέωση στη σεζόν που θα τη βρει στη Championship.
