OFI - CSKA Sofia 3-0

With Taxiarchis Foundas setting Pankritio on fire with two goals (19'- 51') and Dickman adding the...icing on the cake in the 94' on a magical night, OFI swept CSKA Sofia 3-0 in front of 15,000 Omilites and embraced qualification to the League Phase of the Europa League, before the rematch (27/8) in Bulgaria.

OFI, the Cup Winner, returned to the European...scene, six years after the knockout game - amidst covid - with Apollon Limassol and had the warm support of 15,000 of its fans who showed up in force at Pankritio.

The coach of the Cretan team, Christos Kontis, started the game with Christogeorgos under the posts, with Kostoula, Sieli and Poungouras in the trio of stoppers, Apostolakis on the right and Athanasiou on the left in defense.

Androutsos and Bouchalakis in the midfield, Aitor and Fountas on the two “wings”, with Nous at the top of the attack and OFI starting without the classic forward.

The first threat

The first good moment for the Omilites was recorded in the 7th minute. Athanasiou, with a clever pass, gave Aitor the opportunity to go into the space and step into the area from a diagonal position, however, the parallel turn he made did not send the ball to an OFI player.

The home team, without being particularly convincing, had complete control of the match in the first minutes and were looking for empty lanes (mainly from the wings) to break down the CSKA defense.

The Bulgarians attempted to threaten for the first time in the 16th minute with a curled shot by Godoi that was blocked by Christogeorgos.

A “ball” by Fountas and 1-0!

OFI’s superiority was transformed into a goal in the 19th minute and set…fire in Pankritio. The active Aitor made the cross from the left, the ball found a CSKA player and reached Fountas who, with an ideal placement, found the net (1-0).

The game scene did not change after OFI's goal, with the Heraklion team maintaining the initiative and possession of the ball.

Opportunities for CSKA

After a scoreless quarter (19'- 29'), CSKA took a...pulse in the 30' minute with Godoi running behind the defense (preceded by a foul against Androutsos that was not whistled) and scoring a goal under pressure from Sielis.

Gradually, the Bulgarian team balanced the match and stepped more frequently into OFI's area, which lost ground and went down the field.

In the 38' minute, the guests quickly went on the counterattack, Sensi caught the shot outside the area and Christogeorgos blocked the ball in a good position.

Another good moment for CSKA in the 45th minute with a header from the unguarded Pittas that was cleared for a corner by Christogeorgos.

The final whistle of the first half sent OFI to the locker room with a 1-0 lead and having withstood the pressure of the Bulgarians in the last 15 minutes.

Penalty (via VAR) and 2-0!

OFI started the game in an ideal way in the second half and paired its goals. In the 48th minute, after a cross by Athanasiou, the ball clearly hit Pastor's hand.

The Serbian referee, Srdjan Jovanovic, initially signaled for the game to continue, however, VAR called him to check the situation and in the second half he whistled the most obvious penalty.

Fountas took over the execution and found the target from the white spot, giving OFI a two-goal lead (2-0) amidst frantic celebrations in the Pancretio.

Pressure and post for CSKA

After the second (Cretan) goal, CSKA took measures on the field and had a barrage of missed opportunities.

In the 56th minute, Christogeorgos pulled down the goal after a dangerous shot by Pittas. Three minutes later (59th minute), Itou's shot hit the post and then, after a corner kick and Christogeorgos's miscued exit, Ivanov headed the ball from a shooting position without finding the net.

In the 65th minute, Kontis made his first substitutions, bringing on Karachalio and Dickman (in place of Foundas and Bouhalakis respectively) with the clear aim of better shielding OFI at the back.

With 10 players, CSKA

In the 81st minute, the Bulgarian team was left with 10 players on the pitch due to Brahimi's dismissal for a headbutt (offside) against Aitor. Initially, the referee showed a yellow card to the CSKA player, but after VAR intervention, he upgraded the card to a red card.

The Cretans, who were playing with a player more, had a double chance for a third goal in the 86th minute. Aitor's shot from inside the area and from a wide position was blocked by Lapoukov, while in the development of the phase, Apostolakis caught the shot outside the area with the ball going slightly out of bounds.

And in stoppage time, OFI looked for the third goal with Isekas missing a place kick from inside the area in the 91st minute.

The...icing on the cake came in the 94th minute. Nikolaou laid the ball to Dickman at the height of the penalty spot and he, with an exemplary place kick, sent the ball into the net (3-0).

Coming off the glorious European nights of the past, the European OFI reached a clean victory (3-0) that gives it a tremendous advantage in qualifying for the League Phase of the Europa League in view of the rematch that follows (27/8) in Bulgaria.

It is worth noting that in the unlikely scenario that Christos Kontis' team does not succeed, it has guaranteed participation in the League Phase of the Conference League.

Με τον Ταξιάρχη Φούντα να βάζει «φωτιά» στο Παγκρήτιο με δύο γκολ (19΄- 51΄) και τον Ντίκμαν να ρίχνει το...κερασάκι στην τούρτα στο 94΄ σε μια μαγική νύχτα, ο ΟΦΗ σάρωσε με 3-0 την ΤΣΣΚΑ Σόφιας μπροστά σε 15.000 Ομιλίτες και αγκάλιασε την πρόκριση στη League Phase του Europa League, πριν από τη ρεβάνς (27/8) στη Βουλγαρία.

Ο Κυπελλούχος ΟΦΗ, επέστρεψε στην ευρωπαϊκή…σκηνή, έξι χρόνια μετά το νοκ άουτ παιχνίδι – εν μέσω covid - με τον Απόλλωνα Λεμεσού και είχε την θερμή υποστήριξη 15.000 οπαδών του που έδωσαν δυναμικό παρών στο Παγκρήτιο.

Ο τεχνικός της κρητικής ομάδας, Χρήστος Κόντης, ξεκίνησε το παιχνίδι με τον Χριστογεώργο κάτω από τα δοκάρια, στους Κωστούλα, Σιέλη και Πούγγουρα στην τριάδα των στόπερ, τον Αποστολάκη δεξιά και τον Αθανασίου αριστερά στην άμυνα.

Οι Ανδρούτσος και Μπουχαλάκης στη μεσαία γραμμή, οι Αϊτόρ και Φούντας στα δύο «φτερά», με τον Νους στην κορυφή της επίθεσης και τον ΟΦΗ να ξεκινά χωρίς τον κλασικό φορ.

Η πρώτη απειλή

Η πρώτη καλή στιγμή για τους Ομιλίτες καταγράφηκε στο 7΄. Ο Αθανασίου με έξυπνη πάσα έδωσε την ευκαιρία στον Αϊτόρ να φύγει στο χώρο και να πατήσει περιοχή από διαγώνια θέση, ωστόσο το παράλληλα γύρισμα που έκανε δεν έστειλε την μπάλα σε παίκτη του ΟΦΗ.

Οι γηπεδούχοι χωρίς να είναι ιδιαίτερα πειστικοί είχαν τον απόλυτο έλεγχο του αγώνα στα πρώτα λεπτά και έψαχναν τους κενούς διαδρόμους (κυρίως από τα άκρα) για να διασπάσουν την άμυνα της ΤΣΣΚΑ.

Οι Βούλγαροι επιχείρησαν να απειλήσουν για πρώτη φορά στο 16΄με γυριστό σουτ του Γοδόι που μπλόκαρε ο Χριστογεώργος.

«Μπαλωθιά» του Φούντα και 1-0!

Η υπεροχή του ΟΦΗ μετουσιώθηκε σε γκολ στο 19΄ κι έβαλε…φωτιά στο Παγκρήτιο. Ο δραστήριος Αϊτόρ έκανε τη σέντρα από τα αριστερά, η μπάλα βρήκε σε παίκτη της ΤΣΣΚΑ και έφτασε στον Φούντα που με ιδανικό πλασέ βρήκε δίχτυα (1-0).

Το σκηνικό του αγώνα δεν άλλαξε μετά το γκολ του ΟΦΗ, με την ομάδα του Ηρακλείου να διατηρεί την πρωτοβουλία και την μπάλα στην κατοχή της.

Ευκαιρίες για την ΤΣΣΚΑ

Η ΤΣΣΚΑ έπειτα από ένα άνευρο δεκάλεπτο (19΄- 29΄) έβγαλε…σφυγμό στο 30΄με τον Γοδόι να φεύγει στην πλάτη της άμυνας (προηγήθηκε φάουλ εις βάρος του Ανδρούτσου που δεν σφυρίχτηκε) και πλάσαρε άουτ υπό την πίεση του Σιέλη.

Σταδιακά η βουλγάρικη ομάδα ισορρόπησε το ματς και πατούσε  με μεγαλύτερη συχνότητα την περιοχή του ΟΦΗ που έχασε μέτρα και χαμήλωσε στο γήπεδο.

Στο 38΄οι φιλοξενούμενοι έφυγαν γρήγορα στην αντεπίθεση, ο Σένσι έπιασε το σουτ εκτός περιοχής και ο Χριστογεώργος σε καλή θέση μπλόκαρε την μπάλα.

Νέα καλή στιγμή για την ΤΣΣΚΑ στο 45΄με σκαστή κεφαλιά του αφύλαχτου Πίττα που έδιωξε σε κόρνερ ο Χριστογεώργος.

Το σφύριγμα της λήξης του α΄ημιχρόνου έστειλε τον ΟΦΗ στα αποδυτήρια με το υπέρ του 1-0 κι έχοντας αντέξει στην πίεση των Βούλγαρων στο τελευταίο 15λεπτο. 

Πέναλτι (μέσω VAR) και 2-0!

Με ιδανικό τρόπο ξεκίνησε το παιχνίδι ο ΟΦΗ στο β΄ημίχρονο και ζευγάρωσε τα τέρματά του. Στο 48΄μετά από σέντρα του Αθανασίου η μπάλα χτύπησε ξεκάθαρα στο χέρι του Παστόρ.

Ο Σέρβος διαιτητής, Σρντζαν Γιοβάνοβιτς, αρχικά έδειξε να συνεχιστεί το παιχνίδι, ωστόσο το VAR τον κάλεσε να τσεκάρει τη φάση και σε δεύτερο χρόνο σφύριξε το καταφανέστατο πέναλτι.

Ο Φούντας ανέλαβε την εκτέλεση και βρήκε στόχο από την άσπρη βούλα, δίνοντας…αέρα δύο τερμάτων (2-0) στον ΟΦΗ εν μέσω ξέφρενων πανηγυρισμών στο Παγκρήτιο.

Πίεση και δοκάρι για την ΤΣΣΚΑ

Μετά το δεύτερο (κρητικό) γκολ η ΤΣΣΚΑ πήρε μέτρα στο γήπεδο κι είχε μπαράζ χαμένων ευκαιριών.

Στο 56΄ο Χριστογεώργος κατέβασε τα ρολά σε επικίνδυνο σουτ του Πίττα. Τρία λεπτά αργότερα (59΄) σουτ του Ίτου βρήκε το δοκάρι και εν συνεχεία μετά από κόρνερ και άστοχη έξοδο του Χριστογεώργου, ο Ιβάνοβ έπαισε την κεφαλιά από θέση βολής χωρίς να βρει δίχτυα.

Στο 65΄ο Κόντης προχώρησε στις πρώτες του αλλαγές, ρίχνοντας στο ματς τους Καραχάλιο και Ντίκμαν (στις θέσεις των Φούντα και Μπουχαλάκη αντίστοιχα) και με ξεκάθαρο στόχο να θωρακιστεί καλύτερα ο ΟΦΗ στα μετόπισθεν.

Με 10 παίκτες η ΤΣΣΚΑ

Στο 81΄η βουλγάρικη ομάδα έμεινε με 10 παίκτες στο χορτάρι λόγω αποβολής του Μπραχίμι για χτύπημα στο κεφάλι (εκτός φάσης) εναντίον του Αϊτόρ. Αρχικά ο διαιτητής έδειξε κίτρινη κάρτα στον παίκτη της ΤΣΣΚΑ, ωστόσο μετά από παρέμβαση του VAR αναβάθμισε την κάρτα σε κόκκινη.

Οι Κρητικοί αγωνιζόμενοι με παίκτη παραπάνω είχαν διπλή ευκαιρία για τρίτο γκολ στο 86΄. Σουτ του Αϊτόρ μέσα από την περιοχή και από πλάγια θέση απέκρουσε ο Λαπούκοβ, ενώ στην εξέλιξη της φάσης ο Αποστολάκης έπιασε το σουτ εκτός περιοχής με την μπάλα να φεύγει λίγο άουτ.

Και στις καθυστερήσεις ο ΟΦΗ έψαξε το τρίτο γκολ με τον Ισέκα να αστοχεί σε πλασέ μέσα από την περιοχή στο 91΄. 

Τρίτο γκολ (3-0) στις καθυστερησεις 

Το...κερασάκι στην τούρτα ήρθε στο 94΄. Ο Νικολάου έστρωσε την μπάλα στον Ντίκμαν στο ύψος του πέναλτι και αυτός με υποδειγματικό πλασέ έστειλε την μπάλα στα δίχτυα (3-0).

Βγαλμένος από τις ένδοξες ευρωπαϊκές βραδιές του παρελθόντος, ο Ευρωπαίος ΟΦΗ έφτασε σε μια καθαρή νίκη (3-0) που του δίνει τρομερό πλεονέκτημα πρόκρισης για την League Phase του Europa League εν όψει της ρεβάνς που ακολουθεί (27/8) στην Βουλγαρία.

Σημειωτέων πως στο απευκταίο σενάριο που η ομάδα του Χρήστου Κόντη δεν τα καταφέρει, έχει εξασφαλισμένη συμμετοχή στη League Phase του Conference League.
