AEK comfortably held the score (0-0), had its moments and now, awaits Levski in its "fortress" for a victory that will send the team and the people to the Stars! (26/8, 22:00).

At the packed "Vasil Levski" stadium in Sofia, where approximately 2,000 "yellow and black" fans fought against 38,000 from Bulgaria, AEK proved that it can qualify for the league phase of the Champions League at the "Allwyn Arena".

The first minutes were exploratory, with Marko Nikolic's players adapting to the "hot" climate and having the opportunity to go to the locker room with the lead. Everton Bala attempted the first shot in the 18th minute, which went wide of the goal, and in the 20th minute the Greek team "touched" the 0-1! Mayer beautifully found Jovic in the area and the Serbian striker attempted to score a great goal with a one-handed shot, but the ball stopped on the post and went out of bounds!

Another great moment for AEK in the 32nd minute, when Mayer "served" inside the area, but the ball went past Zini and Mukundi, who found it a little and spoiled Jovic's inspiration, who went for the close header! Immediately after (33') there was a mistake in Levski's "build up", but Jovic, influenced, quickly and high-flyed! In fact, the Serb "looked" for the goal in the 35th minute on Koita's turn, but Dimitrov stepped in and won the free kick before executing it, with Jovic disagreeing.

The home team looked for their chance before the break and in the 38th minute Strakoša blocked Mubarik's shot from a good position, in Levski's first attack on the back of the "yellow-black" defense, while in the 43rd minute Relvas saved Oko Flex's shot.

There were few significant moments in the second 45 minutes. In the 53rd minute, Marin's shot was off target and in the next minute Strakoša parried Maikon's shot. Marko Nikolic pulled Jovic-Mayer aside and passed Varga-Mandalo in the 57th minute, immediately after Dimitrov's long shot was controlled by Strakoša. In the 59th minute, Zini went to surprise Vucov in the corner, winning a corner, in the "caps" he tried another shot that was blocked by the Levski goalkeeper, while in the 65th minute Marin's shot ended up high.

The Romanian midfielder also threatened in the 73rd minute, without worrying the Bulgarians, while in the 75th minute Reinaldo tried to "hang" Strakosha under pressure from Relvas. The entry of Gatsinovic and Zubkov in the 81st minute did not make a difference, despite the fact that AEK had the ball, but not the clear mind to move the ball and threaten. In the 87th minute Mandalos was inside the area, but his counterattacks "ruined" the moment, he did not execute and 0-0 was the final result in Sofia.

Η ΑΕΚ κράτησε το μηδέν με άνεση (0-0), είχε τις στιγμές της και τώρα, περιμένει τη Λέφσκι στο «φρούριο» της για μια νίκη που θα στείλει ομάδα και κόσμο στ' Αστέρια! (26/8, 22:00).

Στο κατάμεστο στάδιο «Βασίλ Λέφσκι» στη Σόφια, όπου έδωσαν «μάχη», περίπου, 2.000 «κιτρινόμαυροι» οπαδοί απέναντι σε 38.000 από τη Βουλγαρία, η ΑΕΚ απέδειξε ότι μπορεί να προκριθεί στη league phase του Champions League στην «Allwyn Arena».

Τα πρώτα λεπτά ήταν αναγνωριστικά, με τους παίκτες του Μάρκο Νίκολιτς να προσαρμόζονται στο «καυτό» κλίμα και να έχουν τις ευκαιρίες να πάνε με το προβάδισμα στα αποδυτήρια. Ο Έβερτον Μπάλα επιχείρησε το πρώτο σουτ στο 18', το οποίο πέρασε δίπλα από την εστία και στο 20' η ελληνική ομάδα «άγγιξε» το 0-1! Ο Μάγερ βρήκε όμορφα τον Γιόβιτς στην περιοχή και ο Σέρβος επιθετικός επιχείρησε να πετύχει ένα σπουδαίο γκολ με γυριστό μονοκόμματο σουτ, όμως η μπάλα σταμάτησε στο δοκάρι και έφυγε άουτ! 

Ακόμα μια μεγάλη στιγμή για την ΑΕΚ στο 32', όταν ο Μάγερ «σέρβιρε» εντός περιοχής, αλλά η μπάλα πέρασε από τον Ζίνι και τον Μουκουντί, ο οποίος την βρήκε λίγο και χάλασε την έμπνευση του Γιόβιτς που πήγε για την κοντινή κεφαλιά! Αμέσως μετά (33') έγινε λάθος στο «build up» της Λέφσκι, όμως ο Γιόβιτς, επηρεασμένος, πλάσαρε βιαστικά και ψηλά! Μάλιστα, ο Σέρβος «έψαξε» το γκολ και στο 35' στο γύρισμα του Κοϊτά, όμως ο Ντιμιτρόφ έβαλε το πόδι και κέρδισε το φάουλ προτού εκτελέσει, με τον Γιόβιτς να διαφωνεί.

Οι γηπεδούχοι αναζήτησαν την ευκαιρία τους πριν την ανάπαυλα και στο 38' ο Στρακόσα μπλόκαρε το σουτ του Μουμπαρίκ από καλή θέση, στην πρώτη επίθεση της Λέφσκι στην πλάτη της «κιτρινόμαυρης» άμυνας, ενώ στο 43' ο Ρέλβας έδιωξε το σουτ του Όκο Φλεξ.

Ελάχιστες οι σημαντικές στιγμές και στο δεύτερο 45λεπτο. Στο 53' το σουτ του Μαρίν ήταν άστοχο και στο επόμενο λεπτό ο Στρακόσα απέκρουσε το συρτό του Μαϊκόν. Ο Μάρκο Νίκολιτς απέσυρε Γιόβιτς-Μάγερ και πέρασε Βάργκα-Μάνταλο στο 57', αμέσως μετά το μακρινό σουτ του Ντιμιτρόφ που ήλεγξε ο Στρακόσα. Στο 59' ο Ζίνι πήγε να αιφνιδιάσει τον Βούτσοφ στη γωνία, κερδίζοντας κόρνερ, στα «καπάκια» δοκίμασε νέο σουτ που μπλόκαρε ο τερματοφύλακας της Λέφσκι, ενώ στο 65' κατέληξε ψηλά το σουτ του Μαρίν. 

Ο Ρουμάνος μέσος απείλησε και στο 73', δίχως να ανησυχήσει τους Βούλγαρους, ενώ στο 75' ο Ρεϊνάλντο προσπάθησε να «κρεμάσει» τον Στρακόσα υπό την πίεση του Ρέλβας. Η είσοδος των Γκατσίνοβιτς και Ζούμπκοφ στο 81' δεν έδωσε κάτι διαφορετικό, παρά το γεγονός ότι η ΑΕΚ είχε την μπάλα, αλλά όχι το καθαρό μυαλό να κυκλοφορήσει την μπάλα και να απειλήσει. Στο 87' ο Μάνταλος βρέθηκε μέσα στην περιοχή, όμως οι κόντρες του «χάλασαν» την στιγμή, δεν εκτέλεσε και το 0-0 ήταν το τελικό αποτέλεσμα στη Σόφια.
