Barcelona: "Closes" on 18-year-old talent, Onsteen from Genk's academy
Barcelona is close to making 18-year-old Dutch talent, Onsteen, their own from the youth academy of Genk in Belgium.
Barcelona may have faced a wave of mass departures of talents, such as that of Drogba Fernandez to Paris Saint-Germain, but the Catalans insist on looking for their next future stars.
According to "Radio Marca" and reporter, Matteo Moreto, the Blaugrana have set their sights on 18-year-old, Juenslei Onsteen, who plays for Jong Genk, the Belgian team's academy. Milan were also very close to signing the young defender, but the transfer did not go through.
At this point, Barcelona made their move to acquire him. The club believes in the young Dutchman's potential and wants to create an individual development plan for him, as he is considered one of the important talents in Dutch football at the moment.
Onsteen joined Ajax's academy in 2019 from Vitesse, where he stayed for four years. In 2023, he joined Jong Genk. Belgian media speak of him as one of the best defenders of his generation with speed, strength and game perception.

Στο σημείο αυτό η Μπαρτσελόνα έκανε την κίνησή της για την απόκτησή του. Ο σύλλογος πιστεύει στις δυνατότητες του νεαρού Ολλανδού και θέλει να δημιουργήσει ένα εξατομικευμένο πλάνο εξέλιξης για εκείνον, καθώς θεωρείται ένα από τα σημαντικά ταλέντα του ολλανδικού ποδοσφαίρου αυτή τη στιγμή.
Ο Ονστάιν εντάχθηκε στις ακαδημίες του Άγιαξ το 2019 από την Φίτεσε, όπου έμεινε τέσσερα χρόνια. Το 2023 εντάχθηκε στο δυναμικό της Γιονγκ Γκενκ. Τα βέλγικα μέσα κάνουν λόγο για έναν από τους καλύτερους αμυντικούς της γενιάς του με ταχύτητα, δύναμη και αντίληψη παιχνιδιού.
