Barcelona’s board held its regular meeting on Thursday (01/22), making one of the most crucial decisions for the club’s future.

Specifically, the Catalans’ board of directors ratified the club’s basketball division’s stay in the EuroLeague for the next ten years (until the 2036-37 season), confirming Barcelona’s long-term commitment to the organization.

“The Board of Directors has agreed to ratify the extension of the first men’s basketball team’s participation license in the Euroleague for the next 10 seasons (until the 2036-37 season), an organization of which it is a founding member. The Board of Directors confirms its desire to always participate in the best existing organizations,” the relevant announcement states.

This is of course a very important “victory” for the Euroleague, which manages to maintain one of its most important brands, despite the “sirens” from NBA Europe. It remains to be seen what the other half of Barcelona, ​​Real Madrid, will do, which has not yet renewed with the Euroleague, with reports leaving its future in the organization “open”.

Η διοίκηση της Μπαρτσελόνα πραγματοποίησε την Πέμπτη (22/01) την καθιερωμένη τακτική της συνεδρίαση, προχωρώντας σε μία από τις πιο κομβικές αποφάσεις για το μέλλον του συλλόγου.

Συγκεκριμένα, το διοικητικό συμβούλιο των Καταλανών επικύρωσε την παραμονή του μπασκετικού τμήματος του συλλόγου στη EuroLeague για τα επόμενα δέκα χρόνια (μέχρι τη σεζόν 2036-37), επιβεβαιώνοντας τη μακροπρόθεσμη δέσμευση της Μπαρτσελόνα στη διοργάνωση.

«Το Διοικητικό Συμβούλιο συμφώνησε να επικυρώσει την επέκταση της άδειας συμμετοχής της πρώτης ανδρικής ομάδας μπάσκετ στην Euroleague για τις επόμενες 10 σεζόν (μέχρι τη σεζόν 2036-37), διοργάνωση της οποίας είναι συνιδρυτικό μέλος. Το Διοικητικό Συμβούλιο επιβεβαιώνει την επιθυμία του να συμμετέχει πάντα στις καλύτερες υπάρχουσες διοργανώσεις», αναφέρει η σχετική ανακοίνωση.

Πρόκειται φυσικά για μία πολύ σημαντική «νίκη» της Euroleague, η οποία καταφέρνει να διατηρήσει ένα από τα σημαντικότερα brand της, παρά τις «σειρήνες» από το NBA Europe. Μένει να φανεί τι θα κάνει και το... έτερον ήμισυ της Μπαρτσελόνα, η Ρεάλ Μαδρίτης, που ακόμη δεν έχει ανανεώσει με την Ευρωλίγκα, με τα ρεπορτάζ να αφήνουν «ανοιχτό» το μέλλον της στη διοργάνωση.
