According to the "Telegraph", the... inventive Mikel Arteta is considering hiring air force pilots to improve the way his players communicate with each other!
Mikel Arteta has once again found a way to make... the headlines. And it's not about Arsenal's big upset with Newcastle, but about a new innovative idea from the 43-year-old Gunners coach, and all this two 24 hours before the kick-off with Olympiacos in the Champions League.
He once hired... pickpockets to keep his players awake during lunch, and once trained the team to the sounds of "You'll Never Walk Alone" ahead of a match with Liverpool at "Anfield". This time, as revealed by the Telegraph, Arteta is planning to hire air force pilots to improve the way his players communicate with each other!
“I use the example of British fighter jets. I will get in touch with these pilots to find out how they communicate. In their job, it is a matter of life and death. They can’t use 20 phrases, one is enough for them! They don’t say ‘the wind is coming from here, now you have to turn left’, because then… bam, down. So, I ask, how specific can we be and how clear can we be? I want us to get better at the way we communicate, so the pilots can help us,” the Spanish coach said, among other things.

The same outlet revealed that Arteta participates in a joint WhatsApp chat with top coaches in the world, such as Steve Kerr and Eddie Jones, to improve his leadership skills.

Άλλοτε είχε προσλάβει... πορτοφολάδες για να κρατούν σε εγρήγορση τους παίκτες του κατά τη διάρκεια γεύματος, άλλοτε είχε προπονήσει την ομάδα υπό τους ήχους του «You'll Never Walk Alone» ενόψει αγώνα με τη Λίβερπουλ στο «Άνφιλντ». Αυτή τη φορά, όπως αποκάλυψε η «Telegraph», ο Αρτέτα σχεδιάζει να προσλάβει πιλότους της πολεμικής αεροπορίας προκειμένου να βελτιώσει τον τρόπο που επικοινωνούν οι παίκτες του μεταξύ τους!
«Φέρνω ως παράδειγμα τα βρετανικά μαχητικά αεροπλάνα. Θα έρθω σε επαφή με αυτούς τους πιλότους για να μάθω πώς επικοινωνούν. Στη δουλειά τους, πρόκειται για ζήτημα ζωής ή θανάτου. Δεν γίνεται να χρησιμοποιούν 20 φράσεις, μία τους αρκεί! Δεν λένε δηλαδή ''ο άνεμος έρχεται από εδώ, τώρα πρέπει να στρίψεις αριστερά'', γιατί έτσι... μπαμ, κάτω. Άρα, ρωτάω, πόσο συγκεκριμένοι μπορεί να είμαστε και πόσο ξεκάθαροι μπορούμε να γίνουμε; Θέλω κι εμείς να γίνουμε καλύτεροι στον τρόπο που επικοινωνούμε, οπότε οι πιλότοι μας βοηθήσουν», ανέφερε μεταξύ άλλων ο Ισπανός τεχνικός.

Το ίδιο Μέσο φανέρωσε ότι ο Αρτέτα συμμετέχει σε κοινό chat στο WhatsApp με κορυφαίους προπονητές του κόσμου, όπως ο Στιβ Κερ και ο Έντι Τζόουνς για να βελτιώσει τις ηγετικές του ικανότητες.
