Olympiacos defeated Athenais 85-62 for the third final of the A1 Women's Championship, making it 2-1 in victories and is now one game away from the championship. Thanos Niklas' team significantly limited Jessica Sheppard (13 points, 3 rebounds) for another game and with Kira Lambert in excellent condition (21 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists) they reached a comfortable victory.

The Red and Whites were superior throughout the match and took double-digit differences early on. Olympiacos took advantage of the many (17) mistakes of the Athenian team and thanks to its good defense, it got a great victory, which turns it into a guide for the rest of the finals.

The match

Olympiacos entered the match very strongly from the beginning and with Ivana Radza having 7 points in the first period, it managed to take the lead. Athenian in the second half of the first quarter balanced the match, but the mistakes for Byron's team were many.

Thanos Niklas' players, as in the second game, appeared with a clear and very effective plan against Shepard and were able to deal with her better than ever.

Olympiacos tried as a team to prevent the ball from passing to the American high scorer of Athenian, while every time she was fed, the Red and Whites set traps and forced her to pass. In the second period, Olympiacos escaped with the score with Lambert and Christinaki standing out and the half ended at +13 (41-28).

In the second period, Byron's team pressed hard and tried to reduce, but Olympiacos had the answer each time. Sometimes with Lambert and sometimes with Hebe, Niklas' team appeared much more focused. An outburst by Vintsilaios at the end of the third period brought the difference to 11 (62-51), but even at that point, Athinaicos continued to make mistakes and give easy points to Olympiacos.

In the fourth period, the game was procedural in nature with Kaltsidou retiring both Shepard and Olympiacos taking a comfortable victory with the final 85-62.

Με την Κίρα Λάμπερτ να είναι εξαιρετική, ο Ολυμπιακός κέρδισε με 85-62 τον Αθηναϊκό και πλέον βρίσκεται μία νίκη από τον τίτλο.

Ο Ολυμπιακός κέρδισε με 85-62 τον Αθηναϊκό για τον τρίτο τελικό της Α1 Γυναικών, έκανε το 2-1 στις νίκες και απέχει πια ένα παιχνίδι από το πρωτάθλημα. Η ομάδα του Θάνου Νίκλα περιόρισε σημαντικά για ένα ακόμη παιχνίδι την Τζέσικα Σέπαρντ (13 πόντοι, 3 ριμπάουντ) και έχοντας σε εξαιρετική κατάσταση την Κίρα Λάμπερτ (21 πόντοι, 3 ριμπάουντ, 3 ασίστ) έφτασε στην άνετη επικράτηση.

Οι Ερυθρόλευκες ήταν ανώτερες σε όλη τη διάρκεια της αναμέτρησης και πήραν από νωρίς διψήφιες διαφορές. Ο Ολυμπιακός εκμεταλλεύτηκε τα πολλά (17) λάθη της ομάδας του Αθηναϊκού και χάρη στην καλή άμυνά του, πήρε μια σπουδαία νίκη, που τον μετατρέπει σε οδηγό για τη συνέχεια των τελικών.

Ο αγώνας

Ο Ολυμπιακός μπήκε από νωρίς πολύ δυνατά στον αγώνα και με την Ιβάνα Ράτζα να έχει 7 πόντους στην πρώτη περίοδο, κατάφερε να πάρει προβάδισμα. Ο Αθηναϊκός στο δεύτερο μισό του πρώτου δεκαλέπτου ισορρόπησε τον αγώνα, αλλά τα λάθη για την ομάδα του Βύρωνα ήταν πολλά.

Οι παίκτριες του Θάνου Νίκλα, όπως και στο δεύτερο παιχνίδι, εμφανίστηκαν με ξεκάθαρο και πολύ αποτελεσματικό πλάνο απέναντι στη Σέπαρντ και μπόρεσαν να την αντιμετωπίσουν καλύτερα από κάθε άλλη φορά.

Ο Ολυμπιακός προσπάθησε ομαδικά ώστε να μην περάσει η μπάλα στην Αμερικανή ψηλή του Αθηναϊκού, ενώ κάθε φορά που εκείνη τροφοδοτούνταν, οι Ερυθρόλευκες έκαναν παγίδες και την ανάγκασαν να πασάρει. Στην δεύτερη περίοδο, ο Ολυμπιακός ξέφυγε στο σκορ με τις Λάμπερτ και Χριστινάκη να ξεχωρίζουν και το ημίχρονο έκλεισε στο +13 (41-28).

Στην επανάληψη η ομάδα του Βύρωνα πίεσε αρκετά και προσπάθησε να μειώσει, όμως ο Ολυμπιακός είχε κάθε φορά την απάντηση. Πότε με την Λάμπερτ και πότε με την Χέμπε, η ομάδα του Νίκλα εμφανίστηκε πολύ πιο συγκεντρωμένη. Ένα ξέσπασμα της Βιντσιλαίου στα τέλη της τρίτης περιόδου έφτασε την διαφορά στους 11 (62-51), αλλά και σε εκείνο το σημείο, ο Αθηναϊκός συνέχισε να κάνει λάθη και να δίνει εύκολους πόντους στον Ολυμπιακό.

Στην τέταρτη περίοδο το παιχνίδι ήταν διαδικαστικού χαρακτήρα με την Καλτσίδου να αποσύρει και την Σέπαρντ και τον Ολυμπιακό να παίρνει άνετη νίκη με το τελικό 85-62.
