Tennis: Sabalenka's streak was stopped by Mukhova
Karolina Mukhova pulled off a huge 2-1 set win against Aryna Sabalenka to advance to the semi-finals of the Masters tournament in China.
Arina Sabalenka's 15-game winning streak was stopped by Karolina Mukhova, who 7-6(5), 2-6, 6-4 in 2 hours and 46 minutes qualified for the semi-finals of the Chinese Masters, where she will wait to know her opponent from the match Andreeva - Zheng.
The Czech athlete managed to keep her serve at a good level and in combination with the steady Sabalenka the opening set was taken to a tie-break. There, the finalist of last year's Roland Garros made the mini break with... good evening, however she saw the world's No. 2 take it back. The Czech made a mini break again and the moment she served to close the set she received another...break on serve with the Belarusian cutting to 5-6. Of course, the 26-year-old tennis player did not manage to hold her serve with Muhova making it 7-5 and closing the first set.

In the second set, Sabalenka reacted and with two breaks made it 6-2 with abbreviated procedures, sending the match to the third and final set. The holder of this year's US Open had the pace on her side and very quickly found herself in front with two games in the set (2-0 and 4-2). Of course, Muhova took advantage of one of the four break points that were presented to her in the 8th game, bringing the set to level. With the score tied at 4-4, the Czech went on a 2-0 run to close out the set, celebrating a spot in the tournament's semifinals.

Η Καρολίνα Μούχοβα πήρε μία τεράστια νίκη κόντρα στην Αρίνα Σαμπαλένκα με 2-1 σετ και προκρίθηκε στα ημιτελικά του τουρνουά Masters στην Κίνα.
«Στοπ» στο σερί 15 νικών της Αρίνα Σαμπαλένκα έβαλε η Καρολίνα Μούχοβα, η οποία με 7-6(5), 2-6, 6-4 σε 2 ώρες και 46 λεπτά πήρε την πρόκριση στα ημιτελικά του κινεζικού Masters, όπου θα περιμένει να μάθει την αντίπαλό της από την αναμέτρηση Αντρεέβα - Ζενγκ.
Η Τσέχα αθλήτρια κατάφερε να διατηρήσει σε καλά επίπεδα το σερβίς και σε συνδυασμό με την σταθερή Σαμπαλένκα το εναρκτήριο σετ οδηγήθηκε στο tie-break. Εκεί η φιναλίστ του περυσινού Roland Garros έκανε με το... καλησπέρα το mini break, ωστόσο είδε την Νο.2 του κόσμου να το παίρνει πίσω. Η Τσέχα έκανε εκ νέου mini break και τη στιγμή που σέρβιρε για να κλείσει το σετ δέχθηκε νέο... σπάσιμο στο σερβίς με την Λευκορωσίδα να μειώνει σε 5-6. Βέβαια, η 26χρονη τενίστρια δεν κατάφερε να κρατήσει το σερβίς της με την Μούχοβα να κάνει το 7-5 και να κλείνει το πρώτο σετ.

Στο δεύτερο σετ η Σαμπαλένκα έβγαλε αντίδραση και με δύο breaks έκανε το 6-2 με συνοπτικές διαδικασίες, στέλνοντας το ματς σε τρίτο και τελευταίο σετ. Η κάτοχος του φετινού US Open είχε τον ρυθμό με το μέρος της και πολύ γρήγορα βρέθηκε μπροστά με δύο games στο σετ (2-0 και 4-2). Βέβαια, η Μούχοβα εκμεταλλεύτηκε το ένα από τα τέσσερα break points που της παρουσιάστηκαν στο 8ο game, φέρνοντας το σετ στα ίσα. Με το σκορ στο 4-4, η Τσέχα πραγματοποίησε 2-0 σερί και έκλεισε το σετ, πανηγυρίζοντας την πρόκριση στα ημιτελικά του τουρνουά.
