PAOK has officially reached a great deal, announcing that Andrea Trinchieri will take over as technical director next summer - The Italian is in Thessaloniki immediately.

PAOK made the biggest move in its modern history - until next year - after agreeing with all formalities with Andrea Trinchieri, starting from the new season.

The Italian coach is expected in Thessaloniki immediately and until the end of the current season, he will act as a consultant, with the aim of the Two-Headed Team rising many levels next year, especially after the major transfer reinforcement expected to take place in the summer.

In detail, what the black and white KAE states:

KAE PAOK announces the agreement with Andrea Trinchieri, who will take over the technical leadership of our team from the 2026–2027 season and for the next three years.

The experienced Italian coach, with many years of presence and significant distinctions at a high level and in competitions such as the Euroleague, will now have an active role in the strategic planning of the next day.

In the transitional period, he will act as a consultant, with active participation in the organization and structure of the competitive department, laying the foundations for an ambitious and modern project that will be ready to respond to the great challenges we have ahead of us in Greece and Europe.

The Italian coach is expected in Thessaloniki on Wednesday (4/3).

Andrea Trinchieri's rich biography

Andrea Trinchieri was born on August 6, 1968 in Milan. He began his coaching career at the age of 20, as a member of the technical staff of Olimpia Milano, with whom he worked for six years (1998-2004).

He then took over the technical leadership of Vanoli Cremona, where he remained for three years (2004-07), had a short stint at Juvecaserta (2007), while in the 2008-09 season he worked with Veroli, where he achieved the first success of his career. He won the Cup in the second division and the successful season he had gave him the title of the best coach of the year for the Italian A2, but also the "ticket" to coach for the first time in Legabasket.

He coached the historic Cantu team for four years (2009-13). He won the Italian Super Cup (2012), was twice named Coach of the Year in Italy (2010, 2011), and made his first appearances in the Euroleague as a Head Coach.

He was Coach Of the Year in the Eurocup in 2014, as coach of Unics, with whom he won the Russian Cup (2014).

For the next four years (2014-18) he was coach of Brose Bamberg, with whom he won three German championships (2015-17), one Cup (2017) and one Super Cup (2015).

He left Bamberg in February 2018 and the following November he took over as coach of Partizan, with whom he won two Serbian Cups (2019, 2020) and a Super Cup in the Adriatic League (2019).

He then spent three years (2020-23) at Bayern Munich, with whom he won the German Cup twice (2021, 2023).

On 12/30/2023 he took over as coach of Zalgiris and with the Kaunas team, he won two Lithuanian Cups (2024, 2025), as well as the championship in 2025.

He has coached 262 Euroleague games with Cantu, Bamberg, Bayern and Zalgiris.

He had his first direct contact with Greek basketball in 2013, when he took over the technical leadership of the men's national basketball team, a position he held for one year.

Ο ΠΑΟΚ έφτασε επίσημα σε ένα σπουδαίο deal, ανακοινώνοντας την ανάληψη της τεχνικής ηγεσίας από τον Αντρέα Τρινκιέρι το ερχόμενο καλοκαίρι - Άμεσα στη Θεσσαλονίκη ο Ιταλός.

Την κορυφαία κίνηση της σύγχρονης ιστορίας του -μέχρι την επόμενη- πραγματοποίησε ο ΠΑΟΚ, αφού συμφώνησε με κάθε επισημότητα με τον Αντρέα Τρινκιέρι, από τη νέα σεζόν.

Ο Ιταλός τεχνικός αναμένεται άμεσα στη Θεσσαλονίκη και μέχρι το φινάλε της τρέχουσας αγωνιστικής περιόδου, θα λειτουργήσει ως σύμβουλος, με στόχο ο Δικέφαλος να ανέβει πολλά level την επόμενη χρονιά, ειδικά μετά και την μεγάλη μεταγραφική ενίσχυση που αναμένεται να πραγματοποιηθεί το καλοκαίρι.

Η ΚΑΕ ΠΑΟΚ ανακοινώνει τη συμφωνία με τον Andrea Trinchieri, ο οποίος θα αναλάβει την τεχνική ηγεσία της ομάδας μας από την αγωνιστική περίοδο 2026–2027 και για τα επόμενα τρία χρόνια. 

Ο έμπειρος Ιταλός προπονητής, με πολυετή παρουσία και σημαντικές διακρίσεις σε υψηλό επίπεδο και διοργανώσεις όπως η Ευρωλίγκα, θα έχει από τώρα ενεργό ρόλο στον στρατηγικό σχεδιασμό της επόμενης ημέρας.

Στο μεταβατικό διάστημα θα λειτουργήσει ως σύμβουλος, με ενεργή συμμετοχή στην οργάνωση και τη δομή του αγωνιστικού τμήματος, θέτοντας τις βάσεις για ένα φιλόδοξο και σύγχρονο πρότζεκτ που θα είναι έτοιμο να ανταποκριθεί στις μεγάλες προκλήσεις που έχουμε μπροστά μας σε Ελλάδα και Ευρώπη.

Η επόμενη μέρα του ΠΑΟΚ στο μπάσκετ σχεδιάζεται με σοβαρότητα, πλάνο και ξεκάθαρο όραμα. Με ενότητα, δουλειά και στρατηγική συνέπεια, χτίζουμε το μεγάλο εγχείρημα των επόμενων ετών.

Το πλούσιο βιογραφικό του Andrea Trinchieri

Ο Andrea Trinchieri γεννήθηκε στις 6 Αυγούστου 1968 στο Μιλάνο. Ξεκίνησε την προπονητική του καριέρα σε ηλικία 20 ετών, ως μέλος του τεχνικού επιτελείου της Olimpia Milano, με την οποία συνεργάστηκε για έξι χρόνια (1998-2004). 

Στη συνέχεια ανέλαβε την τεχνική ηγεσία της Vanoli Cremona στον πάγκο της οποίας έμεινε για τρία χρόνια (2004-07), έκανε ένα σύντομο πέρασμα από την Juvecaserta (2007), ενώ τη σεζόν 2008-09 συνεργάστηκε με την Veroli, όπου και σημείωσε την πρώτη επιτυχία της καριέρας του. Κατέκτησε το Κύπελλο στη δεύτερη κατηγορία και η επιτυχημένη σεζόν που είχε, του έδωσε τον τίτλο του κορυφαίου προπονητή της χρονιάς για την Ιταλική Α2, αλλά ταυτόχρονα και το «εισιτήριο» για να κοουτσάρει για πρώτη φορά στη Legabasket.

Κοουτσάρισε για τέσσερα χρόνια (2009-13) την ιστορική ομάδα της Cantu. Κατέκτησε το Super Cup Ιταλίας (2012), αναδείχθηκε δύο φορές (2010, 2011) προπονητής της χρονιάς στην Ιταλία, ενώ έγραψε και τις πρώτες του συμμετοχές στην Ευρωλίγκα ως Head Coach. 

Ήταν Coach Of the Year στο Eurocup το 2014, ως προπονητής της Unics, με την οποία κατέκτησε το Ρωσικό Κύπελλο (2014). 

Τα τέσσερα επόμενα χρόνια (2014-18) ήταν προπονητής στη Βrose Bamberg, με την οποία κατέκτησε τρία πρωταθλήματα Γερμανίας (2015-17), ένα Κύπελλο (2017) και ένα Super Cup (2015).

Αποχώρησε από την Bamberg το Φεβρουάριο του 2018 και τον επόμενo Νοέμβριο ανέλαβε την τεχνική ηγεσία της Παρτιζάν, με την οποία κατέκτησε δύο Κύπελλα Σερβίας (2019, 2020) και ένα Super Cup στην Αδριατική Λίγκα (2019).

Ακολούθησαν τρία χρόνια (2020-23) στη Μπάγερν Μονάχου, με την οποία κατέκτησε δύο φορές το Κύπελλο Γερμανίας (2021, 2023).

Στις 30/12/2023 ανέλαβε την τεχνική ηγεσία της Zalgiris και με την ομάδα του Kaunas, κατέκτησε δύο Κύπελλα Λιθουανίας (2024, 2025), αλλά και το πρωτάθλημα το 2025.

Έχει κοουτσάρει 262 παιχνίδια Ευρωλίγκα με Cantu, Bamberg, Bayern και Zalgiris.

Είχε την πρώτη άμεση επαφή με το Ελληνικό μπάσκετ το 2013, όταν ανέλαβε την τεχνική ηγεσία της Εθνικής ομάδας μπάσκετ των ανδρών, θέση στην οποία θήτευσε για ένα χρόνο.
