Mourinho: "Nobody will go home tonight and I hope the players sleep as much as I do, which is, not at all!"

José Mourinho erupted after the elimination by Braga, sent the players to the training center for the night and wished them… no sleep at all.

José Mourinho did not hide his anger after Benfica's shock elimination by Braga, with the Portuguese coach publicly lashing out at his players and sending a clear message ahead of the next round.

The "eagles" suffered a 3-1 defeat in the semi-finals of the Portuguese League Cup. Braga rightly qualified for the final, where they will face Guimarães, leaving theoretical favorites Benfica out. After the end of the match, Vangelis Pavlidis spoke to Sport TV, admitting that the poor first half cost them dearly: “It wasn’t a good game. We conceded two goals early, in the second half we tried, but it didn’t work out. Congratulations to Braga, we are very disappointed,” he said, among other things.

However, all eyes were on José Mourinho’s statements. The “Special One” appeared furious and announced that the team would not return home, but would spend the night at the training center in Seixal, as a sign of dissatisfaction with the image presented by his players.

“Today we thought we were playing a final. We are not going home, we are going to Seixal. They will sleep there, we will have training tomorrow and the day after. There is no final on Saturday, the next match is against Porto on Wednesday,” he initially stated.

"I hope they sleep as well as I do... that is, not sleep at all. Think all night, like I will," he said characteristically.

Mourinho also revealed that in the locker room there was only a monologue, something that he admitted he does not like: "I do not like monologues. I prefer dialogue. That will happen from tomorrow. We will talk about the differences between the first and second half and we will prepare properly."

Ο Ζοσέ Μουρίνιο ξέσπασε μετά τον αποκλεισμό από την Μπράγκα, έστειλε τους παίκτες στο προπονητικό κέντρο για διανυκτέρευση και τους ευχήθηκε… να μην κοιμηθούν καθόλου.

Ο Ζοσέ Μουρίνιο δεν έκρυψε την οργή του μετά τον αποκλεισμό-σοκ της Μπενφίκα από την Μπράγκα, με τον Πορτογάλο τεχνικό να ξεσπά δημόσια εναντίον των παικτών του και να στέλνει ξεκάθαρο μήνυμα ενόψει της συνέχειας.

Οι «αετοί» γνώρισαν την ήττα με 3-1 στον ημιτελικό του Λιγκ Καπ Πορτογαλίας. Η Μπράγκα πήρε δίκαια την πρόκριση στον τελικό, όπου θα αντιμετωπίσει τη Γκιμαράες, αφήνοντας εκτός τη θεωρητικά φαβορί Μπενφίκα. Μετά το τέλος της αναμέτρησης, ο Βαγγέλης Παυλίδης μίλησε στο Sport TV, παραδεχόμενος πως το κακό πρώτο ημίχρονο στοίχισε ακριβά: «Δεν ήταν καλό παιχνίδι. Δεχθήκαμε δύο γκολ νωρίς, στο δεύτερο ημίχρονο προσπαθήσαμε, αλλά δεν μας βγήκε. Συγχαρητήρια στην Μπράγκα, είμαστε πολύ απογοητευμένοι», ανέφερε μεταξύ άλλων.

Ωστόσο, τα βλέμματα στράφηκαν στις δηλώσεις του Ζοσέ Μουρίνιο. Ο «Special One» εμφανίστηκε έξαλλος και ανακοίνωσε πως η ομάδα δεν θα επιστρέψει στα σπίτια της, αλλά θα διανυκτερεύσει στο προπονητικό κέντρο στο Σεϊσάλ, ως ένδειξη δυσαρέσκειας για την εικόνα που παρουσίασαν οι παίκτες του.

«Σήμερα νομίζαμε ότι παίζαμε τελικό. Δεν πάμε σπίτι, πάμε στο Σεϊσάλ. Θα κοιμηθούν εκεί, θα έχουμε προπόνηση αύριο και μεθαύριο. Δεν υπάρχει τελικός το Σάββατο, ο επόμενος αγώνας είναι με την Πόρτο την Τετάρτη», δήλωσε αρχικά.

«Ελπίζω να κοιμηθούν τόσο καλά όσο εγώ… δηλαδή, να μην κοιμηθούν καθόλου. Να σκέφτονται όλη τη νύχτα, όπως θα κάνω κι εγώ», είπε χαρακτηριστικά.

Ο Μουρίνιο αποκάλυψε επίσης πως στα αποδυτήρια υπήρξε μόνο μονόλογος, κάτι που όπως παραδέχτηκε δεν του αρέσει: «Δεν μου ταιριάζουν οι μονόλογοι. Προτιμώ τον διάλογο. Αυτό θα γίνει από αύριο. Θα μιλήσουμε για τις διαφορές ανάμεσα στο πρώτο και το δεύτερο ημίχρονο και θα προετοιμαστούμε όπως πρέπει».
