Athens Kallithea - Panserraikos 1-1

Athens Kallithea failed to get the victory that would have kept its hopes of staying in the first division alive, after a 1-1 draw against Panserraikos and "says goodbye" to the Super League after a year.

With the start of the match and in the 4th minute of the match, Panserraikos came within... a breath of 0-1, but Salazar's shot stopped on the home side's crossbar. A minute later, the Serres responded again with Bergström's header, but without making it difficult for Gelios who collected the ball steadily.

Athens Kallithea, however, reacted and six minutes later managed to open the score with a tremendous shot by Alfarela for 1-0. In the 20th minute, Staikos' powerful shot from inside the area, hit Kainourgios and ended up as a corner kick. A minute later, Bergström failed to equalize for Panserraikos from a shooting position. In the remaining minutes and until the end of the first half, the pace of the match dropped with both teams not creating great moments in front of both goals.

With the resumption of the second half, Panserraikos managed to bring the game to an equal level with Deligiannidis scoring from a diagonal position, after Koutsogoulas' cross and Gelios' miscalculation with the ball counterattacking and hitting the Kallithea post.

The home team then tried to increase their performance and find a goal in their attack, with McGarry's shot in the 64th minute going wide. In the last minutes, Athens Kallithea pressed the Serraioi goal in order to find the saving goal, but the visitors defended well and celebrated their stay in the first division for the third consecutive season. In the injury time of the match, Gianni was sent off with a straight red card for the home team for an off-field tackle.

Athens Kallithea is now bidding farewell to the first division as it is on 30 points and -7 behind Panserraikos, two matches before the final of the Stoiximan Super League play-outs and will follow Lamia to the second-tier national division of the country.

Η Athens Kallithea δεν κατάφερε να πάρει τη νίκη που θα διατηρούσε τις ελπίδες της για παραμονή στην πρώτη κατηγορία, μετά το 1-1 κόντρα στον Πανσερραϊκό και «αποχαιρετάει» μετά από ένα χρόνο την Super League.

Με την έναρξη της αναμέτρησης και στο 4ο λεπτό του αγώνα ο Πανσερραϊκός έφτασε μία... ανάσα από το 0-1, αλλά το σουτ του Σαλαζάρ σταμάτησε στο οριζόντιο δοκάρι των γηπεδούχων. Ένα λεπτό μετά οι Σερραίοι απάντησαν ξανά με την κεφαλιά του Μπέργκστρεμ, δίχως όμως να δυσκολεύει τον Γέλιο που μάζεψε τη μπάλα σταθερά.

Η Athens Kallithea έβγαλε αντίδραση όμως και έξι λεπτά μετά κατάφερε να ανοίξει το σκορ με τρομερό σουτ του Αλφαρέλα για το 1-0. Στο 20' το δυνατό σουτ του Στάικου μέσα από την περιοχή, κόντραρε στον Καινούργιο και κατέληξε κόρνερ. Ένα λεπτό μετά ο Μπέργκστρεμ από θέση βολής δεν κατάφερε να ισοφαρίσει για τον Πανσερραϊκό. Στα εναπομείναντα λεπτά και μέχρι το τέλος του πρώτου μέρους, ο ρυθμός του αγώνα έπεσε με τις δύο ομάδες να μην δημιουργούν μεγάλες στιγμές μπροστά από τις δύο εστίες. 

Με την επανέναρξη του δεύτερου ημιχρόνου ο Πανσερραϊκός κατέφερε να φέρει το παιχνίδι στα ίσα με τον Δεληγιαννίδη να σκοράρει από διαγώνια θέση, μετά την σέντρα του Κουτσογούλα και τον λάθος υπολογισμό του Γκέλιου με τη μπάλα να κοντράρει και να χτυπά και στο δοκάρι της Καλλιθέας.

Στη συνέχεια οι γηπεδούχοι προσπάθησαν να ανεβάσουν την απόδοση τους και να βρουν γκολ στην επίθεση τους, με το σουτ του Μακγκάρι στο 64' να περνάει άουτ. Στα τελευταία λεπτά η Athens Kallithea πίεσε τα καρέ των Σερραίων προκειμένου να βρει το σωτήριο γκολ, αλλά οι φιλοξενούμενοι αμύνθηκαν σωστά και πανηγύρισαν την παραμονή τους στην πρώτη κατηγορία για τρίτη σερί σεζόν. Στις καθυστερήσεις του αγώνα αποβλήθηκε με απευθείας κόκκινη κάρτα ο Τζιάνι για τους γηπεδούχους για χτύπημα εκτός φάσης.

Η Athens Kallithea αποχαιρετάει πλέον την πρώτη κατηγορία καθώς βρίσκεται στους 30 βαθμούς και στο -7 από τον Πανσερραϊκό, δύο αγωνιστικές πριν το φινάλε των play outs της Stoiximan Super League και θα ακολουθήσει την Λαμία στην δεύτερη τη τάξει εθνική κατηγορία της χώρας.
