The Game

Panathinaikos lined up with Grant, Nan, Osman, Mitoglou and Gabriel, as in Game 3, however, they were not particularly efficient offensively (2/9 two-pointers, 3/8 three-pointers, 5/6 shots) and found themselves at -3 in the 10th minute (21-18).

The Greens entered the second period with an 8-0 run (21-26, 12’30”), with Osman reaching 11 points, after having 7 in the first quarter. Efes found a way to get the upper hand again and closed the first half at +5 (38-33, 20′). At 3.2″ before the break, Nan was charged with a technical penalty, as he protested too strongly about a foul that he believed had been committed against him.

Osman, Poirier and Braid gave the home team a double-digit lead (45-35, 21’50”), but Panathinaikos reacted immediately and tied the game at 45-45 (23’50”) with 5 consecutive points from Juancho. The Spaniard was the one who scored his +4 clover (53-57, 28′). Banki's team responded with a 7-0 run for 60-57 (29’22”).

After two mistakes by Juancho, and a three-pointer by Nan, it was 63-64 (33′), but Smits responded immediately with a three-point shot of his own. Sloukas tied the score at 66-66 (34’40”), but Bryant hit a three-pointer for 69-66 and Smits scored for 71-66 (36′). Sloukas made two pairs of shots for 71-70. Osmani and Juancho exchanged three-pointers for 74-73 (38’20”). Mitoglou missed a shot from the top, while Bryant made a shot for 77-73 with 39.1″ on the clock. Nunn made a big three-pointer for 77-76, but Schmitz was fouled. He missed the shot, but Dozier won another foul and made it 81-76 with 15″ left, putting the game on the line.

Ο αγώνας

Ο Παναθηναϊκός παρατάχθηκε με Γκραντ, Ναν, Όσμαν, Μήτογλου και Γκέιμπριελ, όπως και στο Game 3, ωστόσο δεν ήταν ιδιαίτερα αποδοτικός επιθετικά (2/9 δίποντα, 3/8 τρίποντα, 5/6 βολές) και βρέθηκε στο -3 στο 10′ (21-18).

Οι πράσινοι μπήκαν με σερί 8-0 στη δεύτερη περίοδο (21-26, 12’30”), με τον Όσμαν να φτάνει στους 11 πόντους, αφού είχε 7 από το πρώτο δεκάλεπτο. Η Εφές βρήκε πάλι τον τρόπο να πάρει το πάνω χέρι και έκλεισε το πρώτο μέρος στο +5 (38-33, 20′). Στα 3.2″ πριν την ανάπαυλα, ο Ναν χρεώθηκε με τεχνική ποινή, καθώς διαμαρτυρήθηκε πολύ έντονα για φάουλ που θεώρησε ότι του έγινε.
