The gold medal, along with the prolonged applause of the stands, was the best award for the National Youth Ensemble, which won first place in the Combined Competition of its category at the 10th International Rhythmic Gymnastics Tournament Aphrodite Cup, in Faliro.

The young athletes of the “blue and white” team made a very good appearance in the first official competitive presentation of their new program at the 5 Crowns, to the sounds of “I’m Still Standing” by Elton John, stirring up the enthusiastic fans of all ages who filled the main stage of the Olympic Tae Kwon Do Gym.

The Greek team (Iokasti Kirikou, Maria Manatou, Nicole Selmanai, Katerina Spanoudaki, Estella Ferra, substitute: Antonia Papadopoulou) was rated with 21.450, a performance that, combined with the premiere result in the 5 pairs of Corynes (22.100 points), brought them to the top of the Combined Competition with a final total of 43.550 points, ahead of the corresponding teams of Estonia (42.100 points) and Bulgaria (41.400 points).

Tomorrow (Sunday 23/03), in the finals of the apparatus, the National Youth Ensemble will present again its two programs in the 5 Hoops and the 5 pairs of Corynes, claiming even better executions and new distinctions.

Greek representation will be present in all four finals of the Junior Individual, as Anastasia Maria Kagkalou qualified with the 7th best performance in the Hoop (23.850 points) and with the 8th in the Ribbon (22.200 points), Valeria Kaminidou entered the privileged eight of the Ball (23.100 points) as 5th and Georgia Sarri placed 6th in the Hoop (23.350 points).

Today's Aphrodite Cup events continue and will conclude at 22:15 with the second leg of the Women's Individual qualifier, where Panagiota Lytra and the other Greek and foreign athletes will present their programs in the Hoop and Ribbon.

Το χρυσό μετάλλιο και το παρατεταμένο χειροκρότημα της κερκίδας κατέκτησε η Εθνική Ανσάμπλ Νεανίδων, η οποία κατέκτησε την πρώτη θέση στον Σύνθετο Αγώνα της κατηγορίας της στο 10ο Διεθνές Τουρνουά Ρυθμικής Γυμναστικής Aphrodite Cup

Το χρυσό μετάλλιο, μαζί με το παρατεταμένο χειροκρότημα της κερκίδας, ήταν η καλύτερη επιβράβευση για την Εθνική Ανσάμπλ Νεανίδων, η οποία κατέκτησε την πρώτη θέση στον Σύνθετο Αγώνα της κατηγορίας της στο 10ο Διεθνές Τουρνουά Ρυθμικής Γυμναστικής Aphrodite Cup, στο Φάληρο.

Οι νεαρές αθλήτριες της «γαλανόλευκης» έκαναν πολύ καλή εμφάνιση στην πρώτη επίσημη αγωνιστική παρουσίαση του καινούργιου προγράμματός τους στα 5 Στεφάνια, υπό τους ήχους του “I’m Still Standing” του Έλτον Τζον, ξεσηκώνοντας τους ενθουσιώδεις φιλάθλους κάθε ηλικίας που γέμισαν την κεντρική εξέδρα του Ολυμπιακού Γυμναστηρίου Tae Kwon Do.

Η ελληνική ομάδα (Ιοκάστη Κηρύκου, Μαρία Μανάτου, Νικόλ Σελμανάι, Κατερίνα Σπανουδάκη, Εστέλλα Φέρρα, αναπληρωματική: Αντωνία Παπαδοπούλου) βαθμολογήθηκε με 21,450, επίδοση που σε συνδυασμό με την συγκομιδή της πρεμιέρας στα 5 ζεύγη Κορύνες (22,100 β.) την έφερε στην κορυφή του Σύνθετου Αγώνα με τελικό άθροισμα 43,550 βαθμούς, μπροστά από τις αντίστοιχες ομάδες της Εσθονίας (42,100 β.) και της Βουλγαρίας (41,400 β.).

Αύριο (Κυριακή 23/03), στους τελικούς οργάνων, η Εθνική Ανσάμπλ Νεανίδων θα παρουσιάσει πάλι τα δύο προγράμματά της στα 5 Στεφάνια και στα 5 ζεύγη Κορύνες, διεκδικώντας ακόμα καλύτερες εκτελέσεις και νέες διακρίσεις.

Ελληνική εκπροσώπηση θα υπάρχει και στους τέσσερις τελικούς οργάνων του Ατομικού Νεανίδων, καθώς η Αναστασία Μαρία Καγκάλου προκρίθηκε με την 7η καλύτερη επίδοση στο Στεφάνι (23,850 β.) και με την 8η στην Κορδέλα (22,200 β.), η Βαλέρια Καμινίδου μπήκε ως 5η στην προνομιούχο οκτάδα της Μπάλας (23,100 β.) και η Γεωργία Σαρρή πλασαρίστηκε 6η στις Κορύνες (23,350 β.).

Τα σημερινά αγωνίσματα του Aphrodite Cup συνεχίζονται και θα ολοκληρωθούν στις 22:15 με το δεύτερο σκέλος του προκριματικού του Ατομικού Γυναικών, όπου η Παναγιώτα Λύτρα και οι υπόλοιπες Ελληνίδες και ξένες αθλήτριες θα παρουσιάσουν τα προγράμματά τους στις κορύνες και στην κορδέλα.
