Kendrick Nan's rhapsody decided the SEF derby, with Panathinaikos winning (78-71) and becoming the favorite for the absolute advantage in the Stoiximan GBL playoffs.

The first ever derby of the season for the Greek league was painted green on Sunday night (27/10), as Panathinaikos prevailed 78-71 over Olympiakos at the Peace and Friendship Stadium.

Ergin Ataman's greens took a huge step towards absolute home advantage in the Stoiximan GBL playoffs, with Kendrick Nunn dominating in every possible way, Lorenzo Brown impressing with his execution and many helping in important spots of the match. Mainly with Dino Mitoglou, who played as the second in the center rotation as Omer Yurtseven was left out of the foreign six of the European and Greek champions.

Bad night for Olympiakos, who saw Evan Fournier - Tyler Dorsey shoot poorly, Sasha Vezhenkov not find space to execute and didn't get much from his big guys, except for Wright. The Piraeus are in a special situation, they continue to look for functional formations and in order to get the absolute home advantage in the A1 playoffs they will have to do something big at their opponent's home. If the two teams have no more losses in the regular season.

The MVP

Things and miracles from Kendrick Nunn, probably the most talented and versatile offensive player in the history of Panathinaikos. The American made a magical appearance, scoring 25 points from 3/9 two-pointers, 6/8 three-pointers and 1/1 shooting, helped in the rebound, helped in the creation, suffocated the defense and did not waste even half a possession in the 38 minutes he was on the floor . The stats that stood out

Olympiacos closed the first period with eight assists for one mistake, Panathinaikos closed it with 5/9 three-pointers, who at halftime had only six points on the racket (!) but had received 26 points from the Brown-Nan duo. At the same time, Piraeus made 4/14 three-pointers and five mistakes in the second quarter. At the end of the third Fournier had 4/13 shots (1/6 two-pointers), at the end of the night the home team had 29% on three-pointers and the visitors 52%.

The fight

Olympiacos opened the match with Walkup, Fournier, Papanikolaou, Vezenkov, Fal, Panathinaikos with Brown, Grant, Nunn, Hernangometh, Lessor. With size the hosts, with three guards the guests. Fournier and Fall made a break, while Brown and Grant had 3/3 three-pointers for 10-9 in 4'. Ataman fouled Sluka early in the second, Lessor was charged with a second foul and Mitoglou was the backup center. He made the three-pointer for 26-27 at 13', he was Panathinaikos' most important player for streaks before Nan made consecutive shots for 34-35 at 15'. Osman was wide of the mark, but his first basket made it 36-41 and kept the momentum going on the green side, Nunn hit another 3-pointer to make it 36-44 at 18' and Grant closed out the twenty minutes at 38-48 with out two-point balance under suffocating pressure.

Bartzokas opened the second half with Dorsey in place of Papanikolaou, Fournier received a technical penalty at 23' and Brown hit another 3-pointer, the fourth, for 44-56. Shortly after, the same referee charged the greens with two techniques (Lesor and Ataman), as a result of which the SEF caught fire and the French center was ready for... a nuclear explosion. Nunn's 3-pointer for 47-59 kept the Greens at bay and Walkup's shot from the corner closed the third quarter at 55-62 to keep the derby alive.

With the score down early in the fourth, Nunn hit another long shot to make it 55-67 at 32, make it 23, and immediately followed with a layup to make it +14. SEF went silent, Olympiacos froze and all that everyone was waiting for was the final score, as it is possible that the difference played a role at the end of the regular season.

Το πρώτο ντέρμπι αιωνίων της σεζόν για το ελληνικό πρωτάθλημα βάφτηκε πράσινο το βράδυ της Κυριακής (27/10), καθώς ο Παναθηναϊκός επικράτησε με 78-71 του Ολυμπιακού στο Στάδιο Ειρήνης και Φιλίας.

Οι πράσινοι του Εργκίν Αταμάν έκαναν τεράστιο βήμα για το απόλυτο πλεονέκτημα έδρας στα playoffs της Stoiximan GBL, με τον Κέντρικ Ναν να κυριαρχεί με κάθε πιθανό κι απίθανο τρόπο, με τον Λορέντζο Μπράουν να εντυπωσιάζει με την εκτέλεσή του και με πολλούς να βοηθούν σε σημαντικά σημεία της αναμέτρησης. Κυρίως με τον Ντίνο Μήτογλου, που έπαιξε ως δεύτερος στο ροτέισον των σέντερ καθώς ο Ομέρ Γιούρτσεβεν έμεινε εκτός της εξάδας ξένων των πρωταθλητών Ευρώπης και Ελλάδας.

Κακό βράδυ για τον Ολυμπιακό, που είδε τους Εβάν Φουρνιέ - Τάιλερ Ντόρσεϊ να σουτάρουν άσχημα, τον Σάσα Βεζένκοβ να μη βρίσκει χώρο για να εκτελέσει και δεν πήρε πολλά από τους ψηλούς του, πλην Ράιτ. Οι Πειραιώτες βρίσκονται σε μία ιδιαίτερη κατάσταση, συνεχίζουν να ψάχνουν λειτουργικά σχήματα και για να πάρουν το απολυτο πλεονέκτημα έδρας στα playoffs της Α1 θα πρέπει να κάνουν κάτι μεγάλο στην έδρα του αντιπάλου τους. Αν οι δύο ομάδες δεν έχουν άλλες απώλειες στην κανονική περίοδο. 

Ο MVP

Πράγματα και θαύματα από τον Κέντρικ Ναν, τον πιθανότατα πιο ταλαντούχο και ευέλικτο επιθετικό παίκτη στην ιστορία του Παναθηναϊκού. Ο Αμερικανός έκανε μαγική εμφάνιση, σκόραρε 25 πόντους από 3/9 δίποντα, 6/8 τρίποντα και 1/1 βολή, βοήθησε στο ριμπάουντ, βοήθησε στη δημιουργία, πίεσε ασφυκτικά στην άμυνα και δεν σπατάλησε ούτε μισή κατοχή στα 38 λεπτά που έμεινε στο παρκέ. Ραψωδία από τον άλλοτε NBAer που κοσμεί τα γήπεδα της Ευρώπης.

Τα στατιστικά που ξεχώρισαν

Με οκτώ ασίστ για ένα λάθος έκλεισε την πρώτη περίοδο ο Ολυμπιακός, με 5/9 τρίποντα το έκλεισε ο Παναθηναϊκός, που στο ημίχρονο είχε μόλις έξι πόντους στη ρακέτα (!) αλλά είχε πάρει 26 πόντους από το δίδυμο Μπράουν - Ναν. Την ίδια ώρα οι Πειραιώτες μετρούσαν 4/14 τρίποντα και πέντε λάθη στο δεύτερο δεκάλεπτο. Στο φινάλε της τρίτης ο Φουρνιέ είχε 4/13 σουτ (1/6 δίποντα), στο τέλος της βραδιάς οι γηπεδούχοι είχαν 29% στο τρίποντο και οι φιλοξενούμενοι 52%.

9-13 οι πόντοι από τα λάθη του αντιπάλου, 36-24 οι πόντοι στη ρακέτα, 16-8 οι πόντοι από δεύτερες ευκαιρίες, 5-8 οι πόντοι στον αιφνιδιασμό, 25-14 οι πόντοι από τους αναπληρωματικούς των δύο ομάδων.

Ο αγώνας

Με Γουόκαπ, Φουρνιέ, Παπανικολάου, Βεζένκοβ, Φαλ άνοιξε το ματς ο Ολυμπιακός, με Μπράουν, Γκραντ, Ναν, Ερνανγκόμεθ, Λεσόρ ο Παναθηναϊκός. Με μέγεθος οι γηπεδούχοι, με τρία γκαρντ οι φιλοξενούμενοι. Φουρνιέ και Φαλ έκαναν θραύση, την ώρα που Μπράουν και Γκραντ είχαν 3/3 τρίποντα για το 10-9 στο 4'. Εύκολα λάθη από Γουόκαπ - Φουρνιέ έδωσαν πόντους στο fastbreak στους πράσινους για το 12-17 στο πέμπτο λεπτό, ο Μπράουν συνέχισε να σκοράρει κατά ριπάς (16-23 στο 8') πριν οι Πειραιώτες τρέξουν ένα 7-0 το οποίο οδήγησε στην ισοφάριση με βολές του Φουρνιέ στο φινάλε της περιόδου (23-23).

Ο Αταμάν έριξε τον Σλούκα στο ματς στην έναρξη της δεύτερης, ο Λεσόρ χρεώθηκε με δεύτερο φάουλ και ο Μήτογλου ήταν ο backup σέντερ. Αυτός έβαλε το τρίποντο για το 26-27 στο 13', αυτός ήταν ο σημαντικότερος παίκτης του Παναθηναϊκού για σερί φάσεις πριν ο Ναν βάλει διαδοχικά σουτ για το 34-35 στο 15'. Ο Οσμάν ήταν πολύ άστοχος, όμως το πρώτο του καλάθι έγραψε το 36-41 και κράτησε το μομέντουμ στην πράσινη πλευρά, ο Ναν έβαλε άλλο ένα τρίποντο για το 36-44 στο 18' και ο Γκραντ έκλεισε το εικοσάλεπτο στο 38-48 με εκτός ισορροπίας δίποντο υπό ασφυκτική πίεση.

Ο Μπαρτζώκας άνοιξε το δεύτερο μέρος με τον Ντόρσεϊ αντί του Παπανικολάου, ο Φουρνιέ δέχθηκε τεχνική ποινή στο 23' και ο Μπράουν ευστόχησε σε ακόμη ένα τρίποντο, το τέταρτο, για το 44-56. Λίγο μετά ο ίδιος διαιτητής χρέωσε με δύο τεχνικές τους πράσινους (Λεσόρ και Αταμάν), με αποτέλεσμα το ΣΕΦ να πάρει φωτιά και ο Γάλλος σέντερ να είναι έτοιμος για... πυρηνική έκρηξη. Ο Ναν με τρίποντο για το 47-59 κράτησε τους πράσινους σε απόσταση και ο Γουόκαπ με σουτ από την γωνία έκλεισε το τρίτο δεκάλεπτο στο 55-62 για να κρατήσει το ντέρμπι ολοζώντανο.

Με το σκορ να πέφτει στην έναρξη της τέταρτης, ο Ναν έβαλε άλλο ένα μακρινό σουτ για το 55-67 στο 32', έφτασε τους 23 και αμέσως μετά έβαλε και λέι-απ για το +14. Το ΣΕΦ σίγησε, ο Ολυμπιακός πάγωσε και το μόνο που περίμεναν όλοι ήταν το τελικό σκορ, καθώς είναι πιθανό η διαφορά να έχει παίξει ρόλο στο τέλος της κανονικής περιόδου.
