Seiboth Wild - Tsitsipas 1-2: Difficult qualification to the quarter-finals in Antwerp

Stefanos Tsitsipas found strong resistance from Seiboth Wilde, until he prevailed 2-1 in a set and advanced to the quarter-finals of the 250-man tournament in Antwerp.

Stefanos Tsitsipas at the crucial point of the 3rd set showed his composure to defeat Brazilian Seiboth Wilde 7-6(5), 4-6, 7-5 and advance to the quarterfinals of the 250-man tournament in Antwerp.

There, on Friday afternoon (18/10, 19:30) he will face Jiri Lehetska, the Czech in his own game, defeated the German, Daniel Altmaier 6-4, 6-3.

He cleared in the tie break for 1-0

Tsitsipas needed the 2nd advantage to equalize 1-1 in the opening set and Seiboth Wild with a love game to make it 2-1 and easily reach 3-2.

With the set rolling at the same pace, the Brazilian led 4-3, with Tsitsipas leveling at 4-4.

Seiboth Wild with three aces in a row closed the 9th game (5-4), with a love game he made it 6-5 and in the same way Tsitsipas sent the set to the tie break.

There Tsitsipas made it 3-2 with a mini break, escaped with 5-2, reached four set points (6-2) and needed the 4th and the error from Seiboth Wild to win the set 7-6 (5 ).

The first break in the match brought the score 1-1

Tsitsipas started to work better at the start of the 2nd set, he reduced the unforced errors and comfortably holding his serve, leading 3-2 and Seiboth Wild with a great drop shot to win the 6th game for 3-3.

The question was who and when would find the first break point opportunity in the game. Seiboth Wild was the first to reach a double break point (15-40) and with the double fault from Tsitsipas, he succeeded, passing 4-3 and with a love game he made it 5-3.

Tsitsipas with his own love game, reduced to 5-4, but it was not enough, Seiboth Wild had the opportunity, he did not let it go, winning the set 6-4.

He showed character at the crucial point, he qualified

The 3rd set saw Tsitsipas holding the lead (1-0, 2-1) and Seiboth Wilde leveling.

With two winners and an ace Tsitsipas closed the 5th game (3-2) and in the next game the 26-year-old found his first break point (30-40), but Seiboth Wild with two aces and an error from Tsitsipas equalized at 3-3.

In Tsitsipas' new lead at 4-3 and 5-4, the 24-year-old Brazilian had the same number of answers for 4-4 and 5-5.

In the 11th game, Tsitsipas was faced with 15-40 and then with a double fault he was in danger again with a new break point, but he got out of the bottleneck for 6-5.

Immediately after, Tsitsipas got to the point, in the only break in the match, he found himself with the advantage, with the Brazilian making a double fault and thus winning the set 7-5 and with it the qualification.

Ο Στέφανος Τσιτσιπάς βρήκε σθεναρή αντίσταση από τον Σέιμποθ Γουάιλντ, μέχρι να επικρατήσει με 2-1 σετ και να προκριθεί στα προημιτελικά στο 250άρι τουρνουά στην Αμβέρσα.

Ο Στέφανος Τσιτσιπάς στο κρίσιμο σημείο του 3ου σετ έδειξε ψυχραιμία για να νικήσει τον Βραζιλιάνο, Σέιμποθ Γουάιλντ με 7-6(5), 4-6, 7-5 και να περάσει στα προημιτελικά στο 250άρι τουρνουά στην Αμβέρσα.

Εκεί, το απόγευμα της Παρασκευής (18/10, 19:30) θα αντιμετωπίσει τον Γίρι Λεχέτσκα, o Τσέχος στο δικό του παιχνίδι, νίκησε τον Γερμανό, Ντάνιελ Αλτμάιερ με 6-4, 6-3.

Καθάρισε στο tie break για το 1-0

O Τσιτσιπάς χρειάστηκε το 2ο αβαντάζ για να ισοφαρίσει 1-1 στο εναρκτήριο σετ και τον Σέιμποθ Γουάιλντ με love game να κάνει το 2-1 και με ευκολία να φθάνει στο 3-2.

Με το σετ να κυλά στον ίδιο ρυθμό, ο Βραζιλιάνος προηγήθηκε 4-3, με τον Τσιτσιπά να ισοφαρίζει σε 4-4.

Ο Σέιμποθ Γουάιλντ με τρεις στη σειρά άσους έκλεισε το 9ο game (5-4), με love game έκανε το 6-5 και με τον ίδιο τρόπο ο Τσιτσιπάς έστειλε το σετ στο tie break.

Εκεί ο Τσιτσιπάς με mini break έκανε το 3-2, ξέφυγε με 5-2, έφθασε σε τέσσερα set point (6-2) και χρειάστηκε το 4ο και το λάθος από τον Σέιμποθ Γουάιλντ για να κατακτήσει το σετ με 7-6(5).

Tο πρώτο break στον αγώνα έφερε το 1-1

Ο Τσιτσιπάς άρχισε να λειτουργεί καλύτερα στο ξεκίνημα του 2ου σετ, μείωσε τα αβίαστα λάθη και διατηρώντας με άνεση το σερβίς του, προηγήθηκε με 3-2 και τον Σέιμποθ Γουάιλντ με υπέροχο drop shot να κατακτά το 6o game για το 3-3.

To ζητούμενο ήταν ποιος και πότε θα έβρισκε την πρώτη ευκαιρία για break point στο παιχνίδι. Ο Σέιμποθ Γουάιλντ έφθασε πρώτος σε διπλό break point (15-40) και με το διπλό λάθος από τον Τσιτσιπά, το πέτυχε, προσπερνώντας με 4-3 και με love game έκανε το 5-3.

Ο Τσιτσιπάς με το δικό του love game, μείωσε σε 5-4, όμως δεν ήταν αρκετό, ο Σέιμποθ Γουάιλντ είχε την ευκαιρία, δεν την άφησε, κατακτώντας το σετ με 6-4.

Έδειξε χαρακτήρα στο κρίσιμο σημείο, πήρε την πρόκριση

Το 3ο σετ βρήκε τον Τσιτσιπά να διατηρεί το προβάδισμα (1-0, 2-1) και τον Σέιμποθ Γουάιλντ να ισοφαρίζει.

Με δύο winner κι έναν άσο ο Τσιτσιπάς έκλεισε το 5ο game (3-2) και στο επόμενο game ο 26χρονος βρήκε το πρώτο του break point (30-40), όμως ο Σέιμποθ Γουάιλντ με δύο άσους κι ένα λάθος από τον Τσιτσιπά, ισοφάρισε σε 3-3.

Στο νέο προβάδισμα του Τσιτσιπά με 4-3 και 5-4 ο 24χρονος Βραζιλιάνος είχε ισάριθμες απαντήσεις για το 4-4 και το 5-5.

Στο 11ο game ο Τσιτσιπάς βρέθηκε αντιμέτωπος με το 15-40 και μετά με διπλό λάθος κινδύνεψε ξανά με νέο break point, όμως βγήκε από τη στενωπό για το 6-5.

Αμέσως μετά ο Τσιτσιπάς έφθασε στο ζητούμενο, στο μοναδικό break στον αγώνα, βρέθηκε με δικό του το αβαντάζ, με τον Βραζιλιάνο να κάνει διπλό λάθος κι έτσι να κατακτά το σετ με 7-5 και μαζί την πρόκριση.
