KAE PAOK mateco announces the agreement with American basketball player Jaylen Hands for the 2022-2023 season. A young and ambitious athlete, with a lot of talent and impressive athletic abilities, is the first foreign player in our team for the next season.
We welcome Jaylen Hands to the PAOK family!
Jaylen Joseph Hands, as his full name is, was born on February 12, 1999 in San Diego, California and is the eldest of two children in the family created by Ronnie and Ashandi Hands. The 1m.91 tall Jaylen Hands plays as a guard and at the age of two and a half he caught a basketball in his hands for the first time. And he never left her! He played at Foothills Christian High School and Mater Dei High School in the California area and then attended the prestigious UCLA university program. He only stayed with the Bruins for two years, as his performances and numbers in the 2018-2019 season were a major reason for his selection in the NBA draft.
Starting all 33 games he played in the 2018-2019 season, Hands averaged 14.2 points, 6.1 assists, 3.6 rebounds and 1.3 steals per game! The Los Angeles Clippers selected him with the 56th overall pick in the 2019 draft, but his rights were traded to the New Jersey Nets. He played in the 2019 Summer League with the Nets and in his first professional season he played in the G-League with the Nets affiliate, the Long Island Nets. He played in 41 games, had 11.4 points, 3.3 assists and 2.9 rebounds, while on 11/12/2019 against the Westchester Knicks he had his best game with 28 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 3 steals!
In January 2021 he came to Europe for the first time and played in the Adriatic League with FMP from Serbia. He averaged 8.5 points, 1.8 rebounds and 1.8 assists in 12 games and showed European audiences for the first time his impressive swing skills, with a dunk that was included in the highlights of the season. Last season, he started in Germany, signing a contract with MHP Riesen Ludwigsburg, but played only 2 games in Germany and continued in Belgium. With the shirt of Antwerp he played in a total of 43 matches in the league and FIBA Eurocup and starred in one of the most impressive phases of the season. His nailing in the game against Charleroi justifiably went around the world. Check it out HERE

Ο Jaylen Joseph Hands, όπως είναι το πλήρες όνομά του, γεννήθηκε στις 12 Φεβρουαρίου 1999 στο Σαν Ντιέγκο της Καλιφόρνια και είναι το μεγαλύτερο από τα δύο παιδιά της οικογένειας που δημιούργησαν o Ronnie και η Ashandi Hands. Την περσινή σεζόν, ξεκίνησε από την Γερμανία, υπογράφοντας συμβόλαιο με την MHP Riesen Ludwigsburg, αλλά αγωνίστηκε μόλις 2 παιχνίδια στη Γερμανία και συνέχισε στο Βέλγιο. Με τη φανέλα της Antwerp έπαιξε σε 43 συνολικά αγώνες σε πρωτάθλημα και FIBA Eurocup και πρωταγωνίστησε σε μία από τις πιο εντυπωσιακές φάσεις της σεζόν.
