A2 Men: The EEC plan mentions two foreigners and a Final Four promotion

Every A2 Men team will have the right to put two foreigners on its roster in view of the 2022/23 season, with the EEC being ready for drastic changes in the league.

The Hellenic Basketball Federation is close to drastic changes in the A2 Men's championship, which is considering the addition of two foreigners from the 2022/23 season, as well as the Final Four for the promotion to A1 which will take place in a neutral headquarters.

EEC officials have not yet made a decision, as they try to find out how this significant change will occur in the second league of the country, if there will be a minute limit for one or two foreigners and if it will be necessary to have two or three young players in the dozen.

For the record, there were foreigners in A2 until the 2019/20 season. For the last two years they were not allowed. Otherwise, there will be playoffs for places 1-8, with a Final Four promotion to a neutral venue, while there will also be a cash reward for using young athletes.

Το δικαίωμα να βάλει δύο ξένους στο ρόστερ της εν όψει της σεζόν 2022/23 θα έχει κάθε ομάδα της Α2 Ανδρών, με την ΕΟΚ να είναι έτοιμη για δραστικές αλλαγές στο πρωτάθλημα.

Κοντά σε σε δραστικές αλλαγές στο πρωτάθλημα της Α2 Ανδρών βρίσκεται η Ελληνική Ομοσπονδία Καλαθοσφαίρισης, η οποία εξετάζει την προσθήκη δύο ξένων από τη σεζόν 2022/23, αλλά και Final Four για την άνοδο στην Α1 που θα γίνεται σε ουδέτερη έδρα.

Οι παράγοντες της ΕΟΚ δεν έχουν πάρει ακόμη κάποια απόφαση, καθώς προσπαθούν να βρουν με ποιον τρόπο θα προκύψει αυτή η σημαντική αλλαγή στο δεύτερο πρωτάθλημα της χώρας, αν θα υπάρχει περιορισμός λεπτών για έναν ή για δύο ξένους και αν θα είναι αναγκαία η ύπαρξη δύο ή τριών παικτών νεαρής ηλικίας στις δωδεκάδες.

Για την ιστορία, ξένοι στην Α2 υπήρχαν μέχρι και τη σεζόν 2019/20. Την τελευταία διετία δεν επιτρέπονταν. Κατά τα άλλα, θα υπάρχουν playoffs για τις θέσεις 1-8, με Final Four προβιβασμού σε ουδέτερη έδρα, ενώ θα υπάρχει και χρηματική επιβράβευση για την χρησιμοποίηση αθλητών νεαρής ηλικίας.
