At 21 years old, in his first season in the EuroLeague, Saliu Niang recorded a legendary statistic on Thursday night (1/15) that was recorded for the first time in the history of the competition.

The international forward with the Italian National Team recorded 17 points (6/9 two-pointers, 5/7 shots), 17 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals and 1 block in 31:29 in Virtus Bologna's away win over Dubai BC, all of this to accumulate 36 points in the evaluation system.

Only three players have recorded at least 17 points and at least 17 rebounds, Eddie Tavares (three times), Nikola Milutinov and Jonathan Motley, which means that Niang became the first player not playing in the center position with these numbers.

Overall, the 21-year-old forward has 7 points (71% on two-pointers, 20% on three-pointers, 79% on shots), 5.1 rebounds and 1.8 assists per 20:31 in 22 games. The young basketball player was drafted at number 58 in 2025, with the Cavaliers ready to include him in their force from the 2026/27 season.
