Benfica-Real and… French Civil War: The pairings of the Champions League knockout phase

The matches of Benfica with Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain with Monaco steal the show in the Champions League playoffs, after today's (30/01) draw.

The… games of fate also made their appearance in today's (30/01) draw of the intermediate phase of this year's Champions League, through which the remaining seven pairings of the playoffs were determined.

And this is because a new, double this time, duel emerged between Real Madrid and Benfica of "our" Vangelis Pavlidis, in the most important match up of the phase!

We remind you that the Lusitanians prevailed 4-2 over the "meringues" in the last matchday, securing in... 98' the "ticket" for qualification.

Beyond that, the French civil war between Paris Saint-Germain and Monaco is undoubtedly attracting a lot of attention, while the matches between Borussia Dortmund and Atalanta are also expected to be interesting.

It is recalled that the first matches will take place on February 17/18 and the return matches a week later, on February 24/25.

Τα... παιχνίδια της μοίρας έκαναν την εμφάνισή τους και στη σημερινή (30/01) κλήρωση της ενδιάμεσης φάσης του φετινού Champions League, μέσω της οποίας αναδείχτηκαν τα υπόλοιπα επτά ζευγάρια των playoffs.

Και αυτό γιατί προέκυψε και νέα, διπλή αυτή την φορά μάλιστα, μονομαχία της Ρεάλ Μαδρίτης με την Μπενφίκα του «δικού μας» Βαγγέλη Παυλίδη, στο πιο σημαντικό match up της φάσης!

Θυμίζουμε ότι οι Λουζιτανοί επικράτησαν με 4-2 επί των «μερένγκες» την τελευταία αγωνιστική, εξασφαλίζοντας μάλιστα στο... 98’ το «εισιτήριο» για την πρόκριση.

Από εκεί και πέρα, αναμφίβολα αρκετά βλέμματα συγκεντρώνει και ο γαλλικός εμφύλιος ανάμεσα σε Παρί Σεν Ζερμέν και Μονακό, ενώ ενδιαφέρουσες αναμένονται και οι αναμετρήσεις της Μπορούσια Ντόρτμουντ με την Αταλάντα.

Υπενθυμίζεται ότι οι πρώτοι αγώνες θα γίνουν 17/18 Φεβρουαρίου και οι ρεβάνς μία εβδομάδα αργότερα, 24/25 Φεβρουαρίου.
