Sabalenka and Rybakina will claim the title at the Australian Open.

Aryna Sabalenka and Elena Rybakina will face each other on Saturday in the grand final of the Australian Open.

The Belarusian, number 1 in the world rankings, easily defeated Elina Svitolina (Ukraine, No.12) 6-2 and 6-3. Thus she qualified for the fourth consecutive year in the final of the Grand Slam in Melbourne, while in 2026 she has 11 victories in as many matches without dropping a set. Now she will claim the fifth Grand Slam of her career and her third title at the Australian Open.

In the other semifinal, Elena Rybakina (Kazakhstan, No. 5) defeated Jessica Pegula (USA, No. 6) 6-3 and 7-6 (9-7). The 26-year-old, who was a finalist in 2023, losing to Sabalenka, will claim the second Grand Slam of her career after Wimbledon in 2022.

Έτσι προκρίθηκε για τέταρτη σερί χρονιά στον τελικό του Grand Slam της Μελβούρνης ενώ μέσα στο 2026 έχει 11 νίκες σε ισάριθμους αγώνες χωρίς να χάσει σετ. Πλέον θα διεκδικήσει το πέμπτο Grand Slam της καριέρας της και τον τρίτο της τίτλο στο Australian Open.

Στον άλλο ημιτελικό, η Έλενα Ριμπάκινα (Καζακστάν, Νο. 5) νίκησε την Τζέσικα Πεγκούλα (ΗΠΑ, Νο.6) με 6-3 και 7-6 (9-7). Η 26χρονη, που ήταν φιναλίστ και το 2023 χάνοντας από την Σαμπαλένκα, θα διεκδικήσει το δεύτερο Grand Slam της καριέρας της μετά το Γουίμπλεντον του 2022.
