At least that's what Donatas Urbanas revealed to BasketNews as he claimed that the American guard will be a free agent a year earlier!

Specifically, the report stated that Mike James had signed a contract extension with Monaco in 2024 until the end of the 2026-27 season, but the agreement was renegotiated at the end of last season, resulting in its duration being reduced.

What does this mean? That the 36-year-old American guard will be able to either sign a new contract with Monaco if he wants to remain in the Principality, or continue his career with another Euroleague team.

James has been with Monaco since the 2021-22 season, has played in 180 of the team's 183 games in the EuroLeague, while this season he has averaged 16.6 points, 6.4 assists, 3.3 rebounds and 1 and PIR 18.3 points in 30 minutes of participation.

Συγκεκριμένα στο ρεπορτάζ ανέφερε ότι ο Μάικ Τζέιμς είχε υπογράψει το 2024 επέκταση συμβολαίου με τη Μονακό έως το τέλος της σεζόν 2026-27 αλλά η συμφωνία απαναδιαπραγματεύτηκε στο τέλος της περσινής σεζόν, με αποτέλεσμα να μειωθεί η διάρκειά της.

Τι σημαίνει αυτό; Ότι ο 36χρονος Αμερικανός γκαρντ θα μπορεί, είτε να υπογράψει νέο συμβόλαιο με τη Μονακό σε περίπτωση που θέλει να παραμείνει στο Πριγκιπάτο, είτε να συνεχίσει την καριέρα του σε άλλη ομάδα της Euroleague.

O Τζέιμς ανήκει στη Μονακό από τη σεζόν 2021-22, έχει αγωνιστεί σε 180 από τα 183 παιχνίδια της ομάδας στη EuroLeague, ενώ τη φετινή σεζόν έχει κατά μέσο όρο 16.6 πόντους, 6.4 ασίστ, 3.3 ριμπάουντ και 1 και PIR 18.3 μονάδες σε 30 λεπτά συμμετοχής.
