Ajax - Olympiacos 1-2

With goals from Gelson Martins and Esse, Olympiacos won a huge double at Ajax's home ground (1-2) and also qualified for the Champions League playoffs. There, they will face Atalanta or Leverkusen in the "16" of the competition.

Olympiacos managed to get the great victory with 1-2 in Amsterdam and at the same time celebrated the qualification for the Champions League play-offs, finishing in 18th place in the League Phase with 11 points!

The Piraeus team started the game with the intention of putting pressure on the Dutch defense. In the 8th minute of the match, Klaasen from an advantageous position made... a thumping pass, sending the ball to Retsos. Olympiacos threatened for the first time in the match in the 13th minute with Retsou's header ending up in the arms of Giaros. The visitors had another good moment in the 22nd minute with Costinia's long-range shot going high and wide. Three minutes later, Ajax came within... of 1-0, but Gluck missed from close range! Lorenzo Pirola left the field with an injury problem in the 27th minute of the match and Julian Biancone came in his place.

The Dutch threatened Tzolakis' goal with Godz's shot in the 29th minute. Ajax scored in the 33rd minute with Dolberg from close range, but the goal was disallowed for offside in the home team's goal. The Dutch team came out with demands on the counterattack when Olympiacos' pressing broke. Piraeus had a good moment in the match after the hour mark, after a steal from Rodinei and a pass to Taremi who curled over the bodies in the 43rd minute. Until the end of the first half, the score did not change and so the two teams were led to the locker room at 0-0.

Olympiacos started strongly in the second half, again pressing the home team's defense high. In the 50th minute, Costinha made a nice turn from the right, but Taremi was unable to become a threat. Two minutes later, however, Taremi collaborated tremendously with Martins, with the Portuguese winger placing Jonas in an exemplary manner from inside the area, opening the score for Olympiacos amidst furious celebrations! This was Martins' third goal in this year's Champions League. In the 57th minute, El Kaabi's shot was deflected and ended up as a corner, while later in the game, Retsu's header went just wide.

A minute later, Stur's shot ended up in Tzolakis' arms. In the 59th minute, Martins's shot from inside the area went high and wide. Ajax won a penalty in the 68th minute of the match for a handball by Mouzakitis and after an on-field review by referee Letesier, the foul was given. Dolberg took the penalty and... beat Tzolakis to make it 1-1 and equalize for the Dutch! Then, and with the many changes of the two coaches, the pace dropped noticeably. Olympiacos managed to regain the lead with a nice header from Esse after a corner kick from Cicinho for 1-2! In the 86th minute, Retsos saved the ball before it crossed the Olympiacos goal line.

Until the end of the match, Ajax pressed Olympiacos' goalposts, but failed to find a goal. Thus, the Piraeus team celebrated the great victory with 1-2 and at the same time the historic qualification to the Champions League play offs!

Ο Ολυμπιακός με γκολ των Ζέλσον Μαρτίνς και Έσε πήρε τεράστιο διπλό μέσα στην έδρα του Άγιαξ (1-2) και μαζί σπουδαία πρόκριση για τα playoffs του Champions League. Εκεί θα αντιμετωπίσει την Αταλάντα ή Λεβερκούζεν με φόντο τους «16» της διοργάνωσης.

Ο Ολυμπιακός κατάφερε να πάρει την σπουδαία νίκη με 1-2 μέσα στο Άμστερνταμ και ταυτόχρονα πανηγύρισε την πρόκριση στα play offs του Champions League, τερματίζοντας στην 18η θέση της League Phase με 11 βαθμούς!

Οι Πειραιώτες ξεκίνησαν το παιχνίδι με διάθεση να πιέσουν ψηλά την άμυνα των Ολλανδών. Στο 8ο λεπτό της αναμέτρησης ο Κλάασεν από πλεονεκτική θέση έκανε... τσαφ στέλνοντας την μπάλα πάνω στον Ρέτσο. Ο Ολυμπιακός απείλησε για πρώτη φορά στο ματς στο 13' με την κεφαλιά του Ρέτσου να καταλήγει στην αγκαλιά του Γιάρος. Οι φιλοξενούμενοι είχαν νέα καλή στιγμή στο 22' με το μακρινό σουτ του Κοστίνια να φεύγει ψηλά άουτ. Τρία λεπτά αργότερα ο Άγιαξ έφτασε μια... ανάσα από το 1-0, αλλά ο Γκλουκ αστόχησε εξ επαφής! Ο Λορέντσο Πιρόλα αποχώρησε με πρόβλημα τραυματισμού από τον αγωνιστικό χώρο στο 27ο λεπτό του αγώνα και ο Ζουλιάν Μπιανκόν πέρασε στην θέση του.

Οι Ολλανδοί απείλησαν την εστία του Τζολάκη με το σουτ του Γκοντς στο 29'. Ο Άγιαξ σκόραρε στο 33' με τον Ντόλμπεργκ από κοντά, αλλά το τέρμα ακυρώθηκε για οφσάιντ στον φορ των γηπεδούχων. Η ολλανδική ομάδα έβγαινε με αξιώσεις στην αντεπίθεση όταν έσπαγε το πρέσινγκ του Ολυμπιακού. Οι Πειραιώτες είχαν καλή στιγμή στο ματς μετά από ώρα, μετά από κλέψιμο του Ροντινέι και πάσα στον Ταρέμι που πλάσαρε πάνω στα σώματα στο 43'. Μέχρι το φινάλε του πρώτου μέρους το σκορ δεν άλλαξε και έτσι οι δύο ομάδες οδηγήθηκαν στα αποδυτήρια στο 0-0. 

Ο Ολυμπιακός ξεκίνησε δυνατά στο δεύτερο μέρος, πιέζοντας ξανά ψηλά την άμυνα των γηπεδούχων. Στο 50' ο Κοστίνια έκανε ωραίο γύρισμα από τα δεξιά, αλλά ο Ταρέμι δεν μπόρεσε να γίνει απειλητικός. Δύο λεπτά μετά όμως ο Ταρέμι συνεργάστηκε τρομερά με τον Μαρτίνς, με τον Πορτογάλο εξτρέμ να πλασάρει υποδειγματικό τον Γιόνας μέσα από την περιοχή, ανοίγοντας το σκορ για τον Ολυμπιακό μέσα σε έξαλλους πανηγυρισμούς! Αυτό ήταν το τρίτο τέρμα του Μαρτίνς στο εφετινό Champions League. Στο 57' το σουτ του Ελ Κααμπί κόντραρε και κατέληξε κόρνερ, ενώ στη συνέχεια της φάσης η κεφαλιά του Ρέτσου έφυγε λίγο άουτ.

Ένα λεπτό μετά το σουτ του Στουρ κατέληξε στην αγκαλιά του Τζολάκη. Στο 59' το πλασέ του Μαρτίνς μέσα από την περιοχή πέρασε ψηλά άουτ. Ο Άγιαξ κέρδισε πέναλτι στο 68ο λεπτό του αγώνα για χέρι του Μουζακίτη και μετά από on field review από τον ρέφερι Λετεσιέ, δόθηκε η παράβαση. Ο Ντόλμπεργκ ανέλαβε την εκτέλεση του πέναλτι και... νίκησε τον Τζολάκη για το 1-1 και την ισοφάριση των Ολλανδών! Στη συνέχεια και με τις πολλές αλλαγές των δύο προπονητών, ο ρυθμός έπεσε αισθητά. Ο Ολυμπιακός κατάφερε να πάρει ξανά το προβάδισμα στο σκορ με ωραία κεφαλιά του Έσε μετά από κόρνερ του Τσικίνιο  για το 1-2! Στο 86' ο Ρέτσος έδιωξε σωτηρία την μπάλα πριν αυτή περάσει την τελική γραμμή της εστίας του Ολυμπιακού.

Μέχρι το τέλος του αγώνα ο Άγιαξ πίεσε τα καρέ του Ολυμπιακού, αλλά δεν κατάφερε να βρει κάποιο γκολ. Έτσι, οι Πειραιώτες πανηγύρισαν την σπουδαία νίκη με 1-2 και ταυτόχρονα την ιστορική πρόκριση στα play offs του Champions League!
