Stoiximan Super League: "Fire" at the mercy of the Cup, the 5th may stay out of Europe

After the crossovers that occurred in the Greek Cup, the 5th place that will emerge in the Stoiximan Super League will watch the final with the same, maybe even more, anxiety than the two finalists, if of course he does not participate.

Today (2/10) the draw of the Hellenic Cup took place, where the "pairs" of the "16" phase, as well as the further crossings until the final, were drawn.

The reason is that the "Big-5" found themselves on the same "path" and this means that the finalist in the OAKA final will be one or one of Panserraikos, Panionios, Zakynthos, Aegea Plomariou, Kavala, Asteras AKTOR, OFI, Volos, Kifissia or Panachaiki.

The above development may put "fire" in the championship, since it is now visible the possibility that the 5th will not secure a European "ticket", something that will be clarified after the completion of the event that follows the Play Offs, and more specifically on May 17. By the law of probabilities and with the reasoning that there will be no super surprise in positions 1-4, then it projects as 50%-50%.

Based on the new format, the teams that will finish the regular season in positions 1-4 will make up the group that will "fight" for the title and the other "ticket" for the Champions League qualifiers, while guaranteed participation in the UEFA competitions for 2025/26, the other two, who will finish 3rd and 4th, will also get it.

At the same time, those who will be in 5-8th place will make another team (s.s. by dividing /2 of the points they will collect in the regular season) and the one who will be in 5th place will wait to see if they will take part in the Conference League of 2025/26.

Why the wait?

Because the European "tickets" are divided as follows: 1-2 in the Champions League qualifiers, the Cup winner in those of Europa and 3-4 in those of the Conference.

So if, for example, the 5th place wins the Cup, then 1-2 will go to the Champions League, 3-4 to the Conference and that to Europa. If now the 2nd wins it then the Europa "ticket" will go to the 3rd and the 4-5 will be in the Conference and accordingly there will be related dominoes. The bottom line, however, is that the top 5 will play in Europe, as long as one of them wins the Cup.

However, if the trophy ends up in a non-5th place club, e.g. in the 6th, 7th, 8th etc. the 5th will not go to Europe and considering that one of the two finalists of the competition will be, bad lies and let's be realistic, except for places 1-4, whichever team cuts first the thread in the Play Offs of 5-8 will have to wait for the final to see whether or not they will participate in Europe.

Unless, of course, the X other finalist is also 5th, in which case it will "lock" its exit and simply then it will be clear whether it will be in Europa as a Cup Winner or in the Conference through its position in the Stoiximan Super League.

Μετά τις διασταυρώσεις που προέκυψαν στο Κύπελλο Ελλάδος ο 5ος που θα προκύψει στη Stoiximan Super League θα παρακολουθήσει τον τελικό με την ίδια, ίσως και περισσότερη, αγωνία από τους δύο φιναλίστ, εφόσον φυσικά δεν συμμετέχει εκείνος.

«Κέφια» είχε σήμερα (2/10) η κλήρωση του Κυπέλλου Ελλάδος, όπου και βγήκαν τα «ζευγάρια» της φάσης των «16» όπως και οι περεταίρω διασταυρώσεις ως τον τελικό.

Ο λόγος είναι πως το «Big-5» βρέθηκε στο ίδιο «μονοπάτι» και αυτό σημαίνει πως φιναλίστ στον final του ΟΑΚΑ θα είναι μία ή ένας εκ των Πανσερραϊκού, Πανιώνιου, Ζακύνθου, Αιγέα Πλωμαρίου, Καβάλας, Αστέρα AKTOR, ΟΦΗ, Βόλου, Κηφισιάς ή Παναχαϊκής.

Η παραπάνω εξέλιξη ενδέχεται να βάλει «φωτιά» στο πρωτάθλημα, αφού είναι πλέον ορατό το ενδεχόμενο ο 5ος να μην εξασφαλίσει ένα ευρωπαϊκό «εισιτήριο», κάτι που θα αποσαφηνιστεί μετά την ολοκλήρωση της διοργάνωσης που έπεται των Play Off και πιο συγκεκριμένα στις 17 Μαΐου. Με τον νόμο των πιθανοτήτων και με το σκεπτικό πως δεν θα προκύψει κάποια σούπερ έκπληξη στις θέσεις 1-4, τότε προβάλει ως 50%-50%.

Με γνώμονα το νέο format οι ομάδες που θα τερματίσουν στη regular season στις θέσεις 1-4 θα απαρτίσουν το group που θα «παλέψει» για τον τίτλο και το έτερο «εισιτήριο» για τα προκριματικά του Champions League, ενώ εξασφαλισμένη συμμετοχή στις διοργανώσεις της UEFA για το 2025/26 θα αποκτήσουν και οι άλλες δύο, που θα τερματίσουν 3η και 4η.

Την ίδια στιγμή εκείνες που θα βρεθούν στο 5-8 θα στελεχώσουν άλλο (σ.σ. με διαίρεση /2 των βαθμών που θα συγκεντρώσουν στην κανονική διάρκεια) και εκείνη που θα βρεθεί στην 5η θέση θα περιμένει να δει αν θα πάρει μέρος στο Conference League του 2025/26.

Γιατί η αναμονή;

Επειδή τα ευρωπαϊκά «εισιτήρια» μοιράζονται ως εξής: Οι 1-2 στα προκριματικά του Champions League, ο Κυπελλούχος σε αυτά του Europa και οι 3-4 σε εκείνα του Conference.

Ετσι αν για παράδειγμα πάρει το Κύπελλο ο 5ος, τότε οι 1-2 θα πάνε στο Champions Legue, οι 3-4 στο Conference και εκείνος στο Europa. Εάν τώρα το κατακτήσει ο 2ος τότε το «εισιτήριο» του Europa θα πάει στον 3ο και οι 4-5 θα βρεθούν στο Conference και αντίστοιχα θα υπάρξουν σχετικά ντόμινο. Η ουσία πάντως είναι πως οι 5 πρώτοι θα παίξουν στην Ευρώπη, εφόσον ένας εξ’ αυτών πάρει το Κύπελλο.

Εάν όμως το τρόπαιο καταλήξει σε κάποιο πλην 5άδας club, π.χ. στο 6ο, το 7ο, το 8ο κτλ ο 5ος δεν θα βγει στην Ευρώπη και με γνώμονα πως ο ένας εκ των δύο φιναλίστ της διοργάνωσης θα είναι, κακά τα ψέματα και ας είμαστε ρεαλιστές, πλην των θέσεων 1-4, όποια ομάδα κόψει πρώτη το νήμα στα Play Off του 5-8 θα πρέπει να περιμένει τον τελικό για να δει εάν θα συμμετάσχει ή όχι στην Ευρώπη.

Εκτός φυσικά αν ο Χ έτερος φιναλίστ είναι και 5ος, οπότε και θα «κλειδώσει» την έξοδό του και απλά τότε θα ξεκαθαρίσει εάν θα είναι στο Europa ως Κυπελλούχος ή στο Conference μέσω της θέσης του στη Stoiximan Super League.
