Ons Zamber reached the 1st title of her career, defeating Daria Kasatkina in the final of the 250th tournament in Birmingham.
The 26-year-old Tunisian, after losing two finals in Moscow and Charleston, won her maiden title at the WTA level, after a terrible week in Birmingham, England.
In the final, Kasatkina prevailed over No. 4 on the board with 7-5, 6-4 and completed its course in the tournament with a ratio of won sets 10-1. On the way to the trophy, he defeated McNally, Fernandez, Potapova, Watson and Kasatkina, respectively.

She was Zamber's 3rd and top scorer in a WTA final, finally redeeming with a title, her stunning Tour appearances over the last two years.
She also made history, becoming the first tennis player of Arab descent to win a WTA title.
The No. 24 in the world rankings showed that the game on the grass went well and forced the 24-year-old Russian opponent into her first lost final from 2018 onwards (she was 3-0 in the last three years).
Kasatkina, however, will win a place in the world rankings next week and will rise to No. 34.

Η Ονς Ζαμπέρ έφτασε στον 1ο τίτλο της καριέρας της, κερδίζοντας στον τελικό του 250αριου τουρνουά του Μπέρμιγχαμ τη Ντάρια Κασάτκινα.
Η 26χρονη Τυνήσια, μετά από δυο χαμένους τελικούς σε Μόσχα και Τσάρλεστον, κατέκτησε τον παρθενικό της τίτλο σε επίπεδο WTA, μετά τη φοβερή εβδομάδα που διένυσε στο Μπέρμιγχαμ της Αγγλίας.
Στον τελικό επικράτησε της Νο4 του ταμπλό, Κασάτκινα με 7-5, 6-4 και ολοκλήρωσε την πορεία της στο τουρνουά με συντελεστή κερδισμένων sets 10-1. Στον δρόμο για το τρόπαιο, κέρδισε κατά σειρά τις ΜακΝάλι,Φερνάντεζ, Ποτάποβα, Γουότσον και Κασάτκινα.

Ήταν η 3η και φαρμακερή για τη Ζαμπέρ σε τελικό τουρνουά της WTA, εξαργυρώνοντας επιτέλους με έναν τίτλο, τις εκπληκτικές εμφανίσεις της στο Tour τα τελευταία δυο χρόνια.
Παράλληλα έγραψε ιστορία, καθώς έγινε η 1η τενίστρια με καταγωγή από την Αραβία, που κατακτά WTA τίτλο.
Το Νο24 της παγκόσμιας κατάταξης έδειξε πως το παιχνίδι στο γρασίδι της πάει και ανάγκασε την 24χρονη Ρωσίδα αντίπαλό της, στον 1ο χαμένο τελικό της από το 2018 και έπειτα (μετρούσε 3-0 τα τελευταία τρία χρόνια).
Η Κασάτκινα πάντως, την επόμενη εβδομάδα θα κερδίσει μια θέση στην παγκόσμια κατάταξη και θα ανέβει στο Νο34.
