The Rockets and the Wolves became the first teams this season to be mathematically out of action to enter the NBA playoffs.
The Wolves and the Rockets can - and now officially - begin their planning for the 2021/22 season. The reason is that mathematics were excluded from the playoffs.
After the victory of the Spurs over the Pistons, San Antonio and the Warriors now have more than 29 victories (29-29 the record of the "Spurs" and 29-30 of the Warriors), being in the 9th and 10th place in the West, having 14 and 13 matches respectively until the end of the regular season. The last Rockets, however, have a record of 15-44 and the penultimate Wolves 16-44, which means that they have been excluded even from the play-in tournament in the West.
The Rockets will even be out of the playoffs after 8 consecutive appearances, resulting in the interruption of the longest running streak in the NBA.

Οι Ρόκετς και οι Γουλβς έγιναν οι πρώτες ομάδες την φετινή σεζόν που τέθηκαν μαθηματικά εκτός μάχης για την είσοδο στα playoffs του ΝΒΑ.
Οι Γουλβς και οι Ρόκετς μπορούν - και επίσημα πλέον - να ξεκινήσουν τον σχεδιασμό τους για την σεζόν 2021/22. Ο λόγος είναι ότι τέθηκαν και μαθηματικά εκτός playoffs.
Μετά την νίκη των Σπερς επί των Πίστονς το Σαν Αντόνιο και οι Γουόριορς έχουν πλέον από 29 νίκες (29-29 το ρεκόρ των "Σπιρουνιών" και 29-30 των Γουόριορς), όντες στην 9η και 10η θέση στην Δύση, έχοντας 14 και 13 αγώνες αντίστοιχα μέχρι το τέλος της κανονικής περιόδου. Οι τελευταίοι Ρόκετς όμως έχουν ρεκόρ 15-44 και οι προτελευταίοι Γουλβς 16-44, κάτι που σημαίνει ότι έχουν τεθεί εκτός ακόμα και από το play-in τουρνουά της Δύσης.
Οι Ρόκετς μάλιστα θα μείνουν εκτός playoffs έπειτα από 8 συνεχόμενες παρουσίες, με αποτέλεσμα να διακοπεί το μεγαλύτερο εν ενεργεία σερί που υπήρχε στο ΝΒΑ.
