Με άλλη μία τρομερή ανατροπή στα τελευταία λεπτά, η Ρεάλ προστάτεψε την έδρα της, νίκησε 82-76 την Εφές για το 2-2 και έστειλε τη σειρά σε πέμπτο ματς στην Κωνσταντινούπολη!
Εκρηκτική εκκίνηση από τη Ρεάλ, όπου με μπροστάρη τον Κάρολ και βοήθεια από Αμπάλδε και Γκαρούμπα πήγε στο 17-0(!), στα πρώτα 5:30’’. Από την άλλη, η Εφές ήταν μόνο λάθη και άστοχα τρίποντα! Η αντίδραση των Τούρκων ήρθε με την είσοδο του Ντάνστον στο παρκέ, ο οποίος έβγαλε απανωτές άμυνες και με την περιφέρεια να ήταν αποτελεσματική αυτή φορά, έκαναν ένα 11-0 (17-11), με τη διαφορά αυτή να μένει μέχρι τη λήξη της πρώτης περιόδου (19-13).
Με την ίδια… φόρα και μπροστάρηδες τους Λάρκιν-Μπομπουά μπήκε η Εφές και στο δεύτερο δεκάλεπτο, κάνοντας 8-0 για το προσπέρασμα (19-21), στο 12’. Ακολούθησε ένα… κρεσέντο έξω από τα 6,75μ. και από τους δύο, με τη «βασίλισσα» να περνά μπροστά χάρη στον Ρούντι και να μένει εκεί μέχρι το 27-26. Εκεί, η ομάδα του Αταμάν πάτησε το… γκάζι με τον Μπομπουά, αρχικά για το +12 (29-41) και στη συνέχεια για το +16 (31-47), στο 19’. Στο τελευταίο λεπτό, οι Μαδριλένοι έδειξαν… σφυγμό και μείωσαν στο 36-47 του πρώτου ημιχρόνου.
Η Εφές διατηρούσε τη διψήφια φορά της με τον Ντάνστον στην αρχή του δεύτερου μέρους (40-53). Στη συνέχεια, οι Κάρολ και Γκαρούμπα ξεκίνησαν την αντεπίθεση, με τη Ρεάλ να πλησιάζει στο -4 (51-55), στο 24’. Εκεί, ήταν η σειρά των Λάρκιν και Μίτσιτς να… μιλήσουν, όπου ανοίγοντας το γήπεδο ώθησαν τους φιλοξενούμενους στο 11-0 για το +15 (51-66), στο 27’. Στα τελευταία, όμως, οι παίκτες του Αταμάν έκαναν λάθη, με τον Τόμπκινς να ρίχνει τη διαφορά ξανά σε μονοψήφιο (57-66), στο τέλος της τρίτης περιόδου.
Με… μαέστρο τον Λάρκιν, η Εφές είχε τον έλεγχο και τη διαφορά ασφαλείας (59-72), μέχρι το 32’. Όμως, εκεί άρχισε την αντεπίθεση η Ρεάλ με τον τρομερό –και στις δύο πλευρές- Γκαρούμπα να σπρώχνει την ομάδα του σε επιμέρους σκορ 15-1 για το προβάδισμα (74-73), στο 38’. Ο αρνητικός Μίτσιτς έκανε 1/2 από τη γραμμή, με τον Γιουλ και τις βολές του Ρούντι να πηγαίνουν τους γηπεδούχους στο +4 (78-74), στα 12,1’’ πριν τη λήξη. Οι παίκτες του Λάσο άντεξαν, εκείνοι του Αταμάν έχαναν τα σουτ και έτσι η νίκη ήρθε με το τελικό 82-76!
