Westbrook: Announces his retirement from active play
After a huge career full of distinctions in the NBA, Russell Westbrook announced his retirement from active play.
Russell Westbrook decided to put an end to an entire era by announcing that after 18 seasons in the NBA he chose to retire through a moving video.
His career in the world's top league "speaks" for itself, being a member of the list of the 75 greatest players in NBA history, the league's MVP in 2017, a nine-time All-Star, a nine-time member of the All-NBA team, an Olympic gold medalist with the USA and the record holder for the most triple-doubles in NBA history.
"Russ", whose brilliance was also linked to Europe and specifically with Hapoel Tel Aviv for a possible collaboration this season, has played for the Oklahoma City Thunder where he excelled for over a decade and then followed a path with the Houston Rockets, Washington Wizards, Los Angeles Lakers, Los Angeles Clippers, Denver Nuggets and Sacramento Kings.
