Olympiacos – Panathinaikos 89-85: Legend of Europe, Legend of Greece, closed the season with three titles (video)
Olympiacos closed the 2025/26 season with three titles, defeating Panathinaikos 89-85, making it 3-2 in the Stoiximan GBL finals and with a score of 3-2 winning the championship after the Super Cup and the EuroLeague. They were expelled after a clash between Nunn and Jones.
Olympiacos won the 16th championship in its history on Saturday night (13/6), who made it 3-2 in the Stoiximan GBL finals series with an 89-85 win over Panathinaikos in an extremely intense derby at the end of the 2025/26 season.
The Piraeus team had more energy, Fournier and Vezenkov were in excellent condition and at the end of the year they had three titles (Greek championship, EuroLeague, Super Cup) out of the four they claimed.
In their 86th game of the season, the red and white team were more prepared, leading by as much as 20 points (59-39), with Giorgos Bartzokas missing the injured Tyler Dorsey for the fourth time in the finals series, who has not overcome the tendonitis that has been bothering him for weeks.
Panathinaikos, on the other hand, had Jeddi Osman in the six foreign players, he fought his battle, but Kendrick Nunn was sent off in the 27th minute (as was Tyreek Jones) and Vasilis Toliopoulos was left fighting almost alone for a turnaround that would have been tantamount to a miracle.
The Greens closed their own season with one trophy (the Greek Cup) in 84 games, with Kostas Sloukas and Nikos Rogavopoulos injured and with Hernangomez and Farid outside the six foreign players.

The MVP
Evan Fournier, Sasha Vezenkov, Nikola Milutinov were amazing. All three deserve the award. Sasha scored the two-pointer for 83-72, Nikola dominated, but the award in the series is a little more deserved by the Frenchman, who was once again amazing in both scoring and creating.
The statistics that stood out
With 5/25 three-pointers, Olympiacos won the championship, which had 22 assists for 11 errors. Panathinaikos had 16 assists for 12 errors, Hayes-Davis with six points from 1/9 shots, Nunn with ten from 3/9 shots in 22 minutes. Shorts and Toliopoulos scored 35 and for the second consecutive game they almost hurt Piraeus. 14-14 points from the opponent's mistakes, 40-38 points on the racket, 19-15 points from second chances, 28-44 points from the substitutes of the two teams.
The match
With Walkap, Fournier, Papanikolaou, Vezenkov, Milutinov, Olympiacos opened the match, with Grant, Nunn, Osman, Hayes-Davis, Lesor, Panathinaikos opened it. Piraeus ran a lot at the start (9-2 in 3′), resulting in Ataman calling timeout, putting Shorts on, but not seeing any change in his team's image. Milutinov nailed it for 17-8 in the seventh minute and 26-17 at the end of the first was fair according to the quarter that the eternals had. Panathinaikos opened the second half without Nunn who was suffering from a rib injury, Fournier and Milutinov led 52-37 at 22′, Walkup and Papanikolaou pulled off an incredible surprise for 54-37. Fournier made a three-pointer to make it +20 (59-39 at 24′) and immediately after that the Greens counterattack began. After a mess with Jones and Nunn being thrown out at 26′, Toliopoulos continued to lead until 67-59 towards the end of the third.
In the 33rd minute, a missed defensive rebound by Lesor led to a basket by Peters for 74-62, the American made another basket for 76-64 in the 34th minute, but Osman and Shorts had a stunning outburst for 78-72 in the 35th minute that gave new interest to the match. Joseph made a three-pointer for 81-72 in the 36th minute, Vezenkov scored for 83-72 with 2:38 left in the final, Toliopoulos continued to score in a flurry and wrote 83-79 at 1:07.
Bartzokas called a timeout, Fournier won a foul and made the shots for +6, Hayes-Davis missed a rushing three-pointer and Fournier decided the match and the championship with shots.

Με τρεις τίτλους έκλεισε τη σεζόν 2025/26 ο Ολυμπιακός, ο οποίος νίκησε με 89-85 τον Παναθηναϊκό, έκανε το 3-2 στους τελικούς της Stoiximan GBL και με σκορ 3-2 κατέκτησε και το πρωτάθλημα μετά από το Super Cup και τη EuroLeague. Αποβλήθηκαν μετά από σύρραξη Ναν και Τζόουνς.
Το 16ο πρωτάθλημα της ιστορίας του κατέκτησε το βράδυ του Σαββάτου (13/6) ο Ολυμπιακός, ο οποίος έκανε το 3-2 στη σειρά των τελικών της Stoiximan GBL με το 89-85 επί του Παναθηναϊκού σε ένα ακραία έντονο ντέρμπι στο φινάλε της σεζόν 2025/26.
Οι Πειραιώτες είχαν περισσότερη ενέργεια, τους Φουρνιέ – Βεζένκοβ σε εξαιρετική κατάσταση και στο τέλος της χρονιάς μέτρησαν τρεις τίτλους (ελληνικό πρωτάθλημα, EuroLeague, Super Cup) από τους τέσσερις που διεκδίκησαν.
Στο 86ο παιχνίδι τους στη σεζόν, οι ερυθρόλευκοι ήταν πιο έτοιμοι, προηγήθηκαν μέχρι και με 20 πόντους (59-39), με τον Γιώργο Μπαρτζώκα να στερείται για τέταρτη φορά στη σειρά των τελικών τον τραυματία Τάιλερ Ντόρσεϊ που δεν έχει ξεπεράσει την τενοντίτιδα που τον ταλαιπωρεί εδώ και εβδομάδες.
Ο Παναθηναϊκός, από την άλλη, είχε τον Τζέντι Όσμαν στην εξάδα των ξένων, έδωσε τη μάχη του, όμως ο Κέντρικ Ναν αποβλήθηκε στο 27′ (όπως κι ο Ταϊρίκ Τζόουνς) και ο Βασίλης Τολιόπουλος έμεινε να παλεύει σχεδόν μόνος για μία ανατροπή που θα ισοδυναμούσε με θαύμα.
Οι πράσινοι έκλεισαν τη δική τους σεζόν με ένα τρόπαιο (Κύπελλο Ελλάδας) σε 84 αγώνες, με τον Κώστα Σλούκα και τον Νίκο Ρογκαβόπουλο τραυματίες και με τους Ερνανγκόμεθ – Φαρίντ εκτός εξάδας ξένων.

O MVP
Εβάν Φουρνιέ, Σάσα Βεζένκοβ, Νίκολα Μιλουτίνοβ ήταν εκπληκτικοί. Το αξίζουν και οι τρεις το βραβείο. Ο Σάσα έβαλε το δίποντο για το 83-72, ο Νίκολα κυριάρχησε, όμως το βραβείο στη σειρά το αξίζει λίγο περισσότερο ο Γάλλος, που ήταν και πάλι εκπληκτικός και στο σκοράρισμα και στη δημιουργία.
Τα στατιστικά που ξεχώρισαν
Με 5/25 τρίποντα πήρε το πρωτάθλημα ο Ολυμπιακός, που είχε 22 ασίστ για 11 λάθη. Ο Παναθηναϊκός είχε 16 ασίστ για 12 λάθη, τον Χέιζ-Ντέιβις στους έξι πόντους από 1/9 σουτ, τον Ναν στους δέκα από 3/9 σουτ σε 22 λεπτά. Σορτς και Τολιόπουλος έβαλαν 35 και για δεύτερο συνεχόμενο παιχνίδι λίγο έλειψε να πληγώσουν τους Πειραιώτες. 14-14 οι πόντοι από τα λάθη του αντιπάλου, 40-38 οι πόντοι στη ρακέτα, 19-15 οι πόντοι από δεύτερες ευκαιρίες, 28-44 οι πόντοι από τους αναπληρωματικούς των δύο ομάδων.
Ο αγώνας
Με Γουόκαπ, Φουρνιέ, Παπανικολάου, Βεζένκοβ, Μιλουτίνοβ άνοιξε το ματς ο Ολυμπιακός, με Γκραντ, Ναν, Όσμαν, Χέιζ-Ντέιβις, Λεσόρ το άνοιξε ο Παναθηναϊκός. Οι Πειραιώτες έτρεξαν πολύ στο ξεκίνημα (9-2 στο 3′), με αποτέλεσμα ο Αταμάν να καλέσει timeout, να βάλει τον Σορτς, αλλά να μη βλέπει αλλαγή στην εικόνα της ομάδας του. Ο Μιλουτίνοβ κάρφωσε για το 17-8 στο έβδομο λεπτό και το 26-17 στο τέλος της πρώτης ήταν δίκαιο σύμφωνα το δεκάλεπτο που είχαν οι αιώνιοι. Κυρίως ενεργειακά, καθώς οι γηπεδούχοι έδειχναν σε καλύτερη κατάσταση.
Το τέμπο έπεσε σημαντικά στις αρχές της δεύτερης, η ένταση άρχισε να γίνεται όλο και περισσότερη, ο Μιλουτίνοβ με γκολ-φάουλ από δικό του επιθετικό ριμπάουντ έγραψε το 31-21 στο 14′, ο Φουρνιέ έβαλε τρίποντο για το 45-33 στο 18′ από ασίστ του Βεζένκοβ κι ο Πίτερς που για πρώτη φορά στη σειρά ήταν θετικός, έδωσε αέρα 14 πόντων στους ερυθρόλευκους. Ένα προβάδισμα που κράτησαν μέχρι το ημίχρονο (47-35), στο οποίο είχαν 15/20 δίποντα.
Ο Παναθηναϊκός άνοιξε το β’ μέρος χωρίς τον Ναν που πονούσε στα πλευρά, ο Φουρνιέ κι ο Μιλουτίνοβ ηγήθηκαν για το 52-37 στο 22′, ο Γουόκαπ κι ο Παπανικολάου έβγαλαν απίθανο αιφνιδιασμό για το 54-37. Ο Φουρνιέ με τρίποντο έγραψε το +20 (59-39 στο 24′) και αμέσως μετά ξεκίνησε η αντεπίθεση των πράσινων. Αφού έγινε ένας χαμός με αποβολές των Τζόουνς – Ναν στο 26′, ο Τολιόπουλος συνέχισε να ηγείται μέχρι το 67-59 προς τα τέλη της τρίτης.
Στο 33′ ένα χαμένο αμυντικό ριμπάουντ του Λεσόρ οδήγησε σε καλάθι του Πίτερς για το 74-62, ο Αμερικανός έβαλε άλλο ένα καλάθι για το 76-64 στο 34′, όμως ο Όσμαν και ο Σορτς είχαν ένα εκπληκτικό ξέσπασμα για το 78-72 στο 35′ που έδωσε νέο ενδιαφέρον στο ματς. Ο Τζόσεφ έβαλε τρίποντο για το 81-72 στο 36′, ο Βεζένκοβ σκόραρε για το 83-72 με 2:38 για το φινάλε, ο Τολιόπουλος συνέχισε να σκοράρει κατά ριπάς και έγραψε το 83-79 στο 1:07.
Ο Μπαρτζώκας κάλεσε timeout, ο Φουρνιέ κέρδισε φάουλ και έβαλε τις βολές για το +6, ο Χέιζ-Ντέιβις αστόχησε σε βιαστικό τρίποντο κι ο Φουρνιέ με βολές έκρινε το ματς και το πρωτάθλημα.
