Λίγες εβδομάδες μετά την ολοκλήρωση μιας εξαιρετικής σεζόν που συνδυάστηκε με την κατάκτηση της Serie A και του Κυπέλλου Ιταλίας, οι «νερατζούρι» και ο Ρουμάνος τεχνικός ανακοίνωσαν πως ήρθαν σε οριστική συμφωνία για την ανανέωση της συνεργασίας τους μέχρι το καλοκαίρι του 2028.

Μάλιστα, ο 45χρονος έβαλε την υπογραφή του σε ένα πλουσιοπάροχο συμβόλαιο, καθώς, σύμφωνα με ιταλικά δημοσιεύματα οι Μιλανέζοι του έκαναν γενναία αύξηση στις ετήσιες απολαβές του.

Ο άλλοτε θρύλος της ομάδας, κέρδισε κόσμο και διοίκηση με την εικόνα που παρουσίασε η Ίντερ μέσα στη σεζόν, μετρώντας 36 νίκες και 7 ισοπαλίες σε σύνολο 54 αναμετρήσεων σε όλες τις διοργανώσεις.
