Σύμφωνα με τα αμερικανικά Μέσα, η συμφωνία ολοκληρώθηκε έπειτα από αρκετές εβδομάδες διαπραγματεύσεων.

Οι Γουόριορς προέρχονται από μια δύσκολη σεζόν στο NBA, καθώς ολοκλήρωσαν τη regular season στη 10η θέση της Δύσης και έμειναν εκτός playoffs.
