Coventry: Lampard's team promoted to the Premier League
Frank Lampard's Coventry secured promotion to the Premier League and will play in the living rooms for the first time since 2001.
The 2.5-decade wait has come to an end and Coventry will be back in the living rooms! Frank Lampard's team took the point of the draw (1-1) with a goal from Thomas in the 84th minute in the away match against Blackburn and thus secured direct promotion to the Premier League three games before the end of the regular season in the Championship.
Once a permanent member of the top flight, in which it participated continuously from 1967 to 2001, Coventry even played in League Two in the 2017/18 season but gradually managed to get back on its feet and sealed the great comeback under the guidance of the Chelsea legend.
The Blues had touched the great comeback in 2023 but had been defeated on penalties in the playoff final by Luton, with the... ghosts of the past now passing into oblivion and Coventry returning to where it belongs.
For second place, which also gives a direct ticket to the Premier League, a battle to the end is expected between Ipswich (75 points), Millwall (73 points), Southampton (72 points) and Middlesbrough (72 points), with the first having a lead but also a game less.

Η Κόβεντρι του Φρανκ Λάμπαρντ εξασφάλισε την άνοδο στην Premier League και θα παίξει στα σαλόνια για πρώτη φορά μετά το 2001.
Η αναμονή 2,5 δεκαετιών έφτασε στο τέλος της και η Κόβεντρι θα βρεθεί ξανά στα σαλόνια! Η ομάδα του Φρανκ Λάμπαρντ πήρε τον βαθμό της ισοπαλίας (1-1) με γκολ του Τόμας στο 84' στο εκτός έδρας ματς με την Μπλάκμπερν και έτσι εξασφάλισε την απευθείας άνοδο στην Premier League τρεις αγωνιστικές πριν το τέλος της κανονικής διάρκειας της σεζόν στην Championship.
Άλλοτε μόνιμο μέλος της μεγάλης κατηγορίας, στην οποία μετείχε ανελλιπώς από το 1967 έως το 2001, η Κόβεντρι έφτασε να παίζει μέχρι και στη League Two τη σεζόν 2017/18 αλλά σταδιακά κατάφερε να σταθεί ξανά στα πόδια της και σφράγισε τη μεγάλη επιστροφή υπό της οδηγίες του θρύλου της Τσέλσι.
Οι Γαλάζιοι είχαν αγγίξει τη μεγάλη επιστροφή το 2023 αλλά είχαν λυγίσει στα πέναλτι στον τελικό των playoffs από τη Λούτον, με τα... φαντάσματα του παρελθόντος να περνούν πλέον στη λήθη και την Κόβεντρι να επιστρέφει εκεί όπου ανήκει.
Για τη δεύτερη θέση, που επίσης δίνει απευθείας εισιτήριο για την Premier League, αναμένεται μάχη μέχρι τέλους ανάμεσα σε Ίπσουιτς (75β.), Μίλγουολ (73β.), Σαουθάμπτον (72β.) και Μίντλεσμπρο (72β.), με την πρώτη να έχει προβάδισμα αλλά και ματς λιγότερο.
