Real Madrid did whatever they wanted on the field for 35 minutes, but in the last 5 minutes they played with fire against Hapoel, but made it 1-0 in the series (86-82).

Sergio Scariolo's team saw their ferocious center leave for the locker room at the start of the match, but with concentration and without losing their composure they cleaned up the match, although in the end they showed suicidal tendencies, with Hapoel, who saw Eliza Bryant play for just 10:09 minutes, reaching 4 and having opportunities to turn the year around.

Real did whatever they wanted on the field for 35 minutes, kept their home field, but their minds are on Tavares' condition, with Hapoel on the other hand waiting to see how Bryant will be in view of Game 2 on Friday (1/5, 21:45).

Dimitris Itoudis was sent off with 2 technical penalties, having strong complaints about a phase between Oturo and Garouba.

Tavares was lost, but Campazzo found a bomber and Real made the difference

The game started with two shots from Oturo and Tavares, with misfortune striking early for Real, however, since in just 3 minutes they saw their ferocious center hit his left knee and go to the locker room. Scariolo's players, however, did not lose their concentration and, with Campazzo as the protagonist, who hit 2 three-pointers, they led 14-9 in the 5th minute. The Argentine was... on fire and with his fourth shot from the perimeter (12pts, 4/4 t-pointers) he sent Real to +9 for the first time (20-11) in the 6th minute, with Campazzo again in the 7th minute with 1 shot to make it 21-11. In fact, Deck in the 8th minute with a dunk in the surprise made it 25-13, with Garuba in the 9th minute making it 27-13. However, Oturu (10pts, 5/5 t-pointers) gathered the situation and together with Blakeney's three-pointer reduced it to 27-18 at the end of the quarter.

Madrid party, Hapoel shone through its absence

Blakeney (6pts, 2/2 tr.p.) with the start of the second period with his 2nd three-pointer reduced it even more (27-21), with Len and Deck immediately answering for 31-21 in the 12th minute and Lyles with a three-pointer in the 13th minute taking Real for the first time to +13 (34-21) with a 7-0 run. Real had imposed its rhythm and Feliz in the 14th minute formed 38-24, with Lyles in the 15th minute forming 42-24 and the Madrid team doing whatever they want on the court. Hezona in the 17th minute extended the lead to 20 (46-26) for the first time (46-26), with Scariolo already using all 12 players in the match, with Hapoel waking up somewhere there and with a 7-0 run and starring Blakeney (10 points) reducing it to 46-33 in the 19th minute. The half, however, closed at 48-33, with the Madrid team's dominance also reflected in the numbers, as they had 13 assists and 5 steals for just 2 errors!

The Israelis tried to come back, Real had the answers

Hapoel continued their efforts to reduce the gap at the start of the third period, with Misic reducing it to 52-40 in the 23rd minute, but being unable to stop Real on defense. Oturu (14 points), who was a point of reference from the beginning for Hapoel, in the 25th minute brought Itoudis' team to -11 (57-46), with the defense betraying Hapoel again and Hezonia with 3/3 shots taking Real to 14 (60-46). Lyles in the 27th minute, after a terrible defense by Feliz on Misic, made it 64-48, with Hapoel's first attempt to come back into the match falling against... a wall. Misic (12pts, 2/3 3pts) in the 29th minute reduced the lead to 66-55 again, with the quarter ending at 70-55 and Real still being the boss in the game.

Real played with fire, but made it 1-0

Liles, starting the fourth period with a three-pointer, again sent the difference to 18 (73-55), with the Madrid players making the road to the 1-0 series even easier. However, the unsportsmanlike conduct charged by Deck and the technical penalty on Scariolo in combination with Blakeney's three-pointer brought 6 points in one possession for Hapoel, which reduced the lead to 75-64 and gave life to the guests, with the game gaining a lot of tension and Itoudis being ejected with two technical penalties. Real found its footing again and with 1/2 shots by Lyles (13 points) it made it 79-64, with Campazzo in the 36th minute with a surprise three-pointer giving Hapoel the winning shot for 82-64. Scariolo's team relaxed a bit more at that point, with the visitors reducing the deficit to 86-79 with 1:26 left on Blakeney's three-pointer (22pts, 5/9 tr.p.), only to set the match on fire at 50" with another shot from the perimeter for 86-82. Len missed and then Wainwright and Blakeney missed three-pointers to bring the match to a point, with the final score of 86-82 meaning Real Madrid's 1-0 lead.

Η Ρεάλ για 35 λεπτά έκανε ό,τι ήθελε στο γήπεδο, αλλά στο τελευταίο 5λεπτο έπαιξε με τη φωτιά κόντρα στη Χάποελ, κάνοντας όμως το 1-0 σειρά (86-82).

Η ομάδα του Σέρτζιο Σκαριόλο είδε τον θηριώδη σέντερ της να αποχωρεί για τα αποδυτήρια στην εκκίνηση της αναμέτρησης, αλλά με συγκέντρωση και χωρίς να χάσει την ψυχραιμία της καθάρισε το ματς, παρότι στο τέλος έδειξε διαθέσεις αυτοχειρίας, με τη Χάποελ, που είδε τον Ελάιζα Μπράιαντ να παίζει για μόλις 10:09 λεπτά, να φτάνει στους 4 και να έχει ευκαιρίες για την ανατροπή της χρονιάς.

Η Ρεάλ έκανε ό,τι ήθελε στο γήπεδο για 35 λεπτά, κράτησε την έδρας της, αλλά έχει το μυαλό της στην κατάσταση του Ταβάρες, με τη Χάποελ από την άλλη να περιμένει να δει πως θα είναι ο Μπράιαντ ενόψει του Game 2 την Παρασκευή (1/5, 21:45).

Αποβλήθηκε ο Δημήτρης Ιτούδης με 2 τεχνικές ποινές, έχοντας έντονα παράπονα για μία φάση του Οτούρου με τον Γκαρούμπα.

Έχασε τον Ταβάρες, αλλά βρήκε μπόμπερ Καμπάτσο και διαφορά η Ρεάλ

Το παιχνίδι ξεκίνησε με δύο καρφώματα από τους Οτούρου και Ταβάρες, με την ατυχία να χτυπά νωρίς για τη Ρεάλ όμως, αφού μόλις στο 3' είδε τον θηριώδη σέντερ της να χτυπάει στο αριστερό γόνατο και να πηγαίνει στα αποδυτήρια. Οι παίκτες του Σκαριόλο όμως δεν έχασαν τη συγκέντρωσή τους και με πρωταγωνιστή τον Καμπάτσο, που πέτυχε 2 τρίποντα, προηγήθηκαν με 14-9 στο 5'. Ο Αργεντινός ήταν... on fire και με το τέταρτό του σουτ από την περιφέρεια (12π., 4/4 τριπ.) έστειλε τη Ρεάλ για πρώτη φορά στο +9 (20-11) στο 6', με τον Καμπάτσο και πάλι στο 7' με 1 βολή να γράφει το 21-11. Ο Ντεκ μάλιστα στο 8' με κάρφωμα στον αιφνιδιασμό έκανε το 25-13, με τον Γκαρούμπα στο 9' να διαμορφώνει το 27-13. Ο Οτούρου (10π., 5/5 διπ.) όμως μάζεψε την κατάσταση και μαζί με το τρίποντο του Μπλέικνι μείωσε σε 27-18 στο τέλος του δεκαλέπτου.

Μαδριλένικο πάρτι, έλαμψε δια της απουσίας της η Χάποελ

O Mπλέικνι (6π., 2/2 τριπ.) με την εκκίνηση της δεύτερης περιόδου με το 2ο τρίποντό του μείωσε ακόμα περισσότερο (27-21), με τους Λεν και Ντεκ να απαντούν άμεσα για το 31-21 στο 12' και τον Λάιλς με τρίποντο στο 13' να πηγαίνει τη Ρεάλ για πρώτη φορά στο +13 (34-21) με σερί 7-0. Η Ρεάλ είχε επιβάλει τον ρυθμό της και ο Φελίζ στο 14' διαμόρφωσε το 38-24, με τον Λάιλς στο 15' να διαμορφώνει το 42-24 και τους Μαδριλένους να κάνουν ό,τι θέλουν στο παρκέ. Ο Χεζόνια στο 17' έστειλε τη διαφορά για πρώτη φορά στους 20 (46-26), με τον Σκαριόλο να έχει χρησιμοποιήσει ήδη και τους 12 παίκτες στο ματς, με τη Χάποελ κάπου εκεί να αφυπνίζεται και με σερί 7-0 και πρωταγωνιστή τον Μπλέικνι (10π.) να μειώνει σε 46-33 στο 19'. Το ημίχρονο ωστόσο έκλεισε στο 48-33, με την κυριαρχία των Μαδριλένων να αποτυπώνεται και στους αριθμούς, αφού είχαν 13 ασίστ και 5 κλεψίματα για μόλις 2 λάθη! 

Προσπάθησαν να επιστρέψουν οι Ισραηλινοί, είχε τις απαντήσεις η Ρεάλ

Η Χάποελ συνέχισε την προσπάθεια να ρίξει τη διαφορά και στην έναρξη της τρίτης περιόδου, με τον Μίσιτς να μειώνει σε 52-40 στο 23', αλλά να μην μπορεί στην άμυνα να σταματήσει τη Ρεάλ. Ο Οτούρου (14π.), που ήταν σημείο αναφοράς από την αρχή για τη Χάποελ, στο 25' έφερε την ομάδα του Ιτούδη στο -11 (57-46), με την άμυνα να προδίδει και πάλι τη Χάποελ και τον Χεζόνια με 3/3 βολές να πηγαίνει τη Ρεάλ στους 14 (60-46). Ο Λάιλς στο 27' μετά από τρομερή άμυνα του Φελίζ στον Μίσιτς έκανε το 64-48, με την πρώτη προσπάθεια της Χάποελ να γυρίσει στο ματς να πέφτει σε... τοίχο. Ο Μίσιτς (12π., 2/3 τριπ.) στο 29' μείωσε και πάλι σε 66-55, με το δεκάλεπτο όμως να ολοκληρώνεται στο 70-55 και τη Ρεάλ να εξακολουθεί να είναι το αφεντικό στο παιχνίδι.

Έπαιξε με τη φωτιά η Ρεάλ, αλλά έκανε το 1-0

Ο Λάιλς με την εκκίνηση της τέταρτης περιόδου με τρίποντο έστειλε και πάλι τη διαφορά στους 18 (73-55), με τους Μαδριλένουν να κάνουν ακόμα πιο εύκολο τον δρόμο για το 1-0 στη σειρά. Το αντιαθλητικό όμως που χρεώθηκε ο Ντεκ και η τεχνική ποινή στον Σκαριόλο σε συνδυασμό με το τρίποντο του Μπλέικνι έφεραν 6 πόντους σε μία κατοχή για τη Χάποελ, που μείωσε σε 75-64 κι έδωσε ζωή στους φιλοξενούμενους, με το παιχνίδι να αποκτά πολλή ένταση και τον Ιτούδη να αποβάλλεται με δύο τεχνικές ποινές. Η Ρεάλ βρήκε και πάλι τα πατήματά της και με τις 1/2 βολές του Λάιλς (13π.) έκανε το 79-64, με τον Καμπάτσο στο 36' με τρίποντο στον αιφνιδιασμό να δίνει τη χαριστική βολή στη Χάποελ για το 82-64. Η ομάδα του Σκαριόλο κάπου εκεί χαλάρωσε κάπως παραπάνω, με τους φιλοξενούμενους με το τρίποντο του Μπλέικνι (22π., 5/9 τριπ.) να μειώνει σε 86-79 στο 1:26 για τη λήξη, για να βάλει φωτιά στο ματς στα 50" με νέο σουτ από την περιφέρεια για το 86-82. Ο Λεν αστόχησε και στη συνέχεια οι Ουαϊνράιτ και Μπλέικνι έχασαν τρίποντα για να φέρουν το ματς στον πόντο, με το τελικό 86-82 να σημαίνει το 1-0 της Ρεάλ.
