Η Άλμπα Βερολίνου δεν άφησε όμως την ομάδα του Ντέγιαν Ράντονιτς να χαμογελάσει, πήρε την εντός έδρας νίκη (74-70) κι έκανε την ερυθρόλευκη πρόκριση στην post season να αποκτήσει πολύ μεγαλύτερο βαθμό δυσκολίας.

Ο αγώνας

Η Άλμπα ξεκίνησε με ιδανικό τρόπο το παιχνίδι, πήρε πολλά από πολλούς και κάπως έτσι βρέθηκε στο +8 (21-13 στο 8') πριν καν βγει η πρώτη περίοδος, στην οποία παρεμπιπτόντως ο Ερυθρός Αστέρας αδυνατούσε να σκοράρει από την περιφέρεια. Μόλις λοιπόν βρήκε τη λύση, η ομάδα του Ντέγιαν Ράντονιτς έγινε πιο απειλητική. Με 4/8 τρίποντα στη δεύτερη περίοδο και τον Νέιτ Γουόλτερς να κάνει σπουδαία δουλειά (12 πόντοι με 6/6 δίποντα και 4 ασίστ), ο Ερυθρός Αστέρας πλησίασε στο σουτ (37-35) στο ημίχρονο, δείχνοντας ικανός να πάρει το διπλό στη Mercedes Benz Arena.

Έτσι όπως κυλούσε το παιχνίδι, ήταν σαφές πως το πάνω χέρι το είχε η Άλμπα Βερολίνου. Όχι γιατί έπαιζε πολύ καλύτερα από τον Ερυθρό Αστέρα, αλλά κατά βάση γιατί οι φιλοξενούμενοι ήταν υποχρεωμένοι να διαχειριστούν -εκτός όλων των άλλων και- το "πρέπει" της νίκης, στην προσπάθεια που κάνουν για πρόκριση στα playoffs.

Στην τελική ευθεία του αγώνα όμως, αυτό ήταν που φάνηκε να τους βαραίνει περισσότερο από κάθε τι άλλο. Ο Ντέγιαν Νταβίντοβατς έβαλε ένα μεγάλο τρίποντο για να μαζέψει τη διαφορά στο σουτ (72-70) στα 37'' για το τέλος, ακολούθησαν όμως οι 2/2 βολές του Λουκ Σίκμα στα 22'' που διασφάλισαν το γερμανικό προβάδισμα και, εν τέλει, τη νίκη. Παρά το τάιμ άουτ που πήρε ο Ντέγιαν Ράντονιτς για να σχεδιάσει μια γρήγορη επίθεση από την περιφέρεια, το καλάθι δεν ήρθε, με την Άλμπα να φτάνει στη νίκη και να καταδικάζει κατά τα φαινόμενα τον Ερυθρό Αστέρα σε αποκλεισμό.
