Withdrawal "bomb" by Roger Federer! (vid)

Roger Federer, while receiving his award for the best Swiss athlete of all time at yesterday's Swiss Sports Awards, dropped a "megaton bomb" completely ruling out the possibility of competing in Australia and leaving open the possibility of not even competing again!

Shortly before the awards ceremony began, Roger Federer had already made some worrying statements, saying that he is not yet where he wanted to be and may not be at 100% even when the Australian Open starts.

In his speech with the award in hand, he explained that his main goal is to play in 2021 and be at his best in the summer, to give it his all at Wimbledon and the Olympics, leaving open the possibility of Roland Garros. None of this, however, is certain and the opening of his speech was the most worrying.

"I hope to be able to play in 2021, but if this is the end, it is unlikely that it will end with this award," Federer said in a statement that has already made the rounds on social media and was quite worrying. Swiss fans.

Federer then almost ruled out playing in Australia in February: "I would like to go to Australia, but only if my knee allows it. I do not want to take the next step without being ready. The next 3 months will be critical. My priority is to be well in the summer, for Wimbledon, the Olympics and the US Open. "Maybe I should go to Roland Garros as well."
