Ο Smith προέρχεται από μία εξαιρετική σεζόν με τον ΠΑΟΚ, με τον οποίο διέπρεψε τόσο στο ελληνικό πρωτάθλημα (16.3π., 42% 3π.), όσο και στο Basketball Champions League (17.4π., 1.9ασ., 41.5% 3π.). Είχε προηγηθεί μία εντυπωσιακή σεζόν στην Α2 Ιταλίας με την Ravenna, με τη φανέλα της οποίας ολοκλήρωσε τη σεζόν μετρώντας 24 πόντους ανά παιχνίδι.
Τις πρώτες του εμφανίσεις στο BCL τις έχει κάνει με την γαλλική Chalon τη σεζόν 2017-18, όταν είχε 13.5 πόντους, 4 ασίστ και 3.5 ριμπάουντ κατά μέσο όρο. Μετά την αποφοίτησή του από το κολέγιο Georgia Tech το 2016, έπαιξε και σε άλλες ευρωπαϊκές ομάδες όπως η Capo D' Orlando, η Roseto και η Petkimspor καταφέρνοντας επίσης να ξεχωρίσει.
