Foster maintained the +12 for Iraklis at the start of the fourth period. There, the "old man's" defense relaxed for no reason and the Croatians' perimeter shots tied the score at 61-61 with an 11-0 run within five minutes. Smith brought the deficit to 61-64, but Schwartz's and Gnidić's three-pointers brought the deficit to 67-66 for Dubrava with a minute and a half left. The accuracy of the shots brought the Croatian team to 70-66 at 42'' and Ciakmás' mistake gave Schwartz the opportunity to make it 72-66 for the final 72-67 and the first defeat of Iraklis in this year's tournament.

Οι «κυανόλευκοι» διατηρούσαν μια σταθερή διψήφια διαφορά μέχρι τη λήξη της τρίτης περιόδου, όμως το σερί 11-0 των Κροατών στην έναρξη της τέταρτης έφερε την ανατροπή και το +4 των γηπεδούχων με τις βολές.

Κορυφαίοι των νικητών ήταν οι Γκνίντιτς με 16, Σάμπιτς με 15 και Σβαρτζ με 14 πόντους.

Για τους «κυανόλευκους», διακρίθηκαν οι Σμιθ με 23 και Φόστερ με 11 πόντους.

Οι Ράιτ-Φόρμαν και Καμπουρίδης έδωσαν από +4 μέχρι +10 στον Ηρακλή στην έναρξη της αναμέτρησης και, παρά τις απουσίες του «γηραιού». Η Ντουμπράβα με σερί 5-0 μείωσε σε 9-14 για το 11-16 της πρώτης περιόδου.

Οι Αμερικανοί του Ηρακλή διατηρούσαν το +7 στην έναρξη της δεύτερης περιόδου. Εκεί, ο Σμιθ με προσωπικό σερί 6-0 έφερε το νταμπλ σκορ για τους «κυανόλευκους» με τις σωστές επιλογές του μέσα στο κροατικό καλάθι. Η Ντουμπράβα απάντησε με σερί 6-0 για το -7 των Κροατών. Οι Αμερικανοί του Ηρακλή διατηρούσαν το +11 και το τρίποντο του Φόστερ έφερε το +12. Ο Σάμπιτς πήρε την κατάσταση στα χέρια του και με 5-0 σερί έφερε το 30-37 στην ολοκλήρωση του ημιχρόνου.

Η Ντουμπράβα μείωσε στο -5 στην έναρξη της τρίτης περιόδου, όμως το τρίποντο του Ντέιβις έφερε το +8 κι ο «γηραιός» διατηρούσε αυτό το προβάδισμα. Το τρίποντο του Σβαρτζ μείωσε στο -3 με τη βοήθεια κάποιων σερί των Κροατών, όμως οι Αμερικανοί του Ζόραν Λούκιτς με σερί 6-0 έφεραν το +9 και με νέο σερί 4-0 ο Ηρακλής ολοκλήρωσε το τριαντάλεπτο στο 44-55.

Ο Φόστερ διατηρούσε το +12 για τον Ηρακλή στην έναρξη της τέταρτης περιόδου. Εκεί, η άμυνα του «γηραιού» χαλάρωσε χωρίς λόγο και τα περιφερειακά σουτ των Κροατών ισοφάρισαν 61-61 με σερί 11-0 μέσα σε πέντε λεπτά. Ο Σμιθ έφερε το 61-64, όμως τα τρίποντα των Σβαρτζ και Γκνίντιτς έφεραν το 67-66 για την Ντουμπράβα στο ενάμισι λεπτό πριν τη λήξη. Η ευστοχία στις βολές έφεραν το 70-66 για την κροατική ομάδα στα 42’’ και το λάθος του Τσιακμά έδωσε την ευκαιρία στον Σβαρτζ να κάνει το 72-66 για το τελικό 72-67 και την πρώτη ήττα του Ηρακλή στη φετινή διοργάνωση.
