As Panionios announced today (31/12) the acquisition of American guard Joe Thomasson, who signed a contract with the "blue-reds" until the end of the season.

The relevant announcement in detail:

"KAE Panionios Cosmorama Travel announces the achievement of an agreement with American guard, Joe Thomasson.

Joe Thomasson was born on August 16, 1993 in Dayton (Ohio) and is 1.93 meters tall. He graduated from Wright State (his senior year he was on the district's best defensive team) after spending the first two years of his college career at State Fair C.C.

In the 2016-2017 season, he played in the G League (Erie BayHawks) with 6.3 points- 2.7 assists and 60% on three-pointers and in Romania (Dinamo Bucuresti with 11.5 points- 5.8 assists- 3.3 rebounds and 1.3 steals.

The next three years found him in Poland. First in Starogard (13.3 points- 4.9 assists- 4.2 rebounds- 1.3 steals) and then in Start Lubin (19.3 points- 5.2 assists- 3.7 rebounds- 1.8 steals- 40% on three-pointers). The 2019-2020 season began in Zielona Gora (12.3 points- 3.4 assists- 2.6 rebounds- 43% on three-pointers) with which he won the Polish championship and ended up at Hapoel Galil Gilboa in Israel (15.8 points- 3.2 assists- 2.7 rebounds). He stayed there the following season (12.6 points- 4.3 assists- 3.2 rebounds) while in the 2021-2022 season he became a player of BAXI Manresa in Spain (13.2 points- 3.5 assists- 2.8 rebounds with 40% on three-pointers and 92% on free throws).

He started the 2022-2023 season in Greece with Prometheus (12.6 points- 3.9 assists- 3.6 rebounds) he continued at Zenit Saint Petersburg (6.3 points- 3 assists- 2.7 rebounds) and ended up in Granada (15 points- 3 assists- 2 rebounds and 47% on three-pointers).

The next season (2023-2024) began in Granada (14.1 points- 3.4 assists- 3 rebounds- 1.1 steals) and ended in Maccabi Tel Aviv (6.5 points- 2.6 assists- 1.8 rebounds) where he won the championship in Israel.

In the 2024-2025 season he played in Gran Canaria (8.5 points- 1.8 assists- 2.4 rebounds) while this year he started in Tofas (5.5 points- 2.4 rebounds- 2.3 assists).

Την απόκτηση του Τζο Τόμασον, ανακοίνωσε σήμερα (31/12) ο Πανιώνιος, με τις δύο πλευρές να υπογράφουν συμβόλαιο μέχρι το τέλος της σεζόν.

Μεταγραφική ενίσχυση για τον Πανιώνιο, με την διοίκηση να προσπαθεί να αλλάξει τα δεδομένα και την κάκιστη αγωνιστική εικόνα της ομάδας της Νέας Σμύρνης.

Καθώς ο Πανιώνιος ανακοίνωσε σήμερα (31/12) την απόκτηση του Αμερικανού γκαρντ Τζο Τόμασον, ο οποίος υπέγραψε συμβόλαιο με τους «κυανέρυθρους» μέχρι το τέλος της σεζόν.

«Η ΚΑΕ Πανιώνιος Cosmorama Travel ανακοινώνει την επίτευξη συμφωνίας με τον Αμερικανό guard, Joe Thomasson.

O Joe Thomasson γεννήθηκε στις 16 Αυγούστου 1993 στο Dayton (Ohio) κι έχει ύψος 1,93 μέτρα. Αποφοίτησε από το Wright State (την τελευταία χρονιά ήταν στην καλύτερη αμυντική πεντάδα της περιφέρειας) αφού τα πρώτα δύο χρόνια της κολεγιακής του καριέρας τα πέρασε στο State Fair C.C.

Την περίοδο 2016-2017 αγωνίστηκε στην G League (Erie BayHawks) με 6,3 πόντους- 2,7 ασίστ και 60% στα τρίποντα και στην Ρουμανία (Dinamo Bucuresti με 11,5 πόντους- 5,8 ασίστ- 3,3 ριμπάουντ και 1,3 κλεψίματα.

Η επόμενη τριετία τον βρήκε στην Πολωνία. Πρώτα στην Starogard (13,3 πόντοι- 4,9 ασίστ- 4,2 ριμπάουντ- 1,3 κλεψίματα) κι ακολούθως στην Start Lubin (19,3 πόντοι- 5,2 ασίστ- 3,7 ριμπάουντ- 1,8 κλεψίματα- 40% στα τρίποντα). Η σεζόν 2019-2020 άρχισε στην Zielona Gora (12,3 πόντοι- 3,4 ασίστ- 2,6 ριμπάουντ- 43% στα τρίποντα) με την οποία κατέκτησε το πρωταθλημα Πολωνίας και κατέληξε στην Hapoel Galil Gilboa στο Ισραήλ (15,8 πόντοι- 3,2 ασίστ- 2,7 ριμπάουντ). Εκεί έμεινε και την επόμενη σεζόν (12,6 πόντοι- 4,3 ασίστ- 3,2 ριμπάουντ) ενώ την περίοδο 2021-2022 έγινε παίκτης της BAXI Manresa στην Ισπανία(13,2 πόντοι- 3,5 ασίστ- 2,8 ριμπάουντ με 40% στα τρίποντα και 92% στις ελεύθερες βολές).

Την σεζόν 2022-2023 την άρχισε στην Ελλάδα με τον Προμηθέα (12,6 πόντοι- 3,9 ασίστ- 3,6 ριμπάουντ) συνέχισε στην Zenit Saint Petersburg (6,3 πόντοι– 3 ασίστ- 2,7 ριμπάουντ) και κατέληξε στην Granada (15 πόντοι- 3 ασίστ- 2 ριμπάουντ και 47% στα τρίποντα).

Η επόμενη περίοδος (2023-2024) άρχισε στην Granada (14,1 πόντοι- 3,4 ασίστ- 3 ριμπάουντ- 1,1 κλεψίματα) και ολοκληρώθηκε στην Maccabi Tel Aviv (6,5 πόντοι- 2,6 ασίστ- 1,8 ριμπάουντ) όπου και κατέκτησε το πρωτάθλημα στο Ισραήλ.

Την περίοδο 2024-2025 αγωνίστηκε στην Gran Canaria (8,5 πόντοι- 1,8 ασίστ- 2,4 ριμπάουντ) ενώ φέτος άρχισε στην Tofas (5,5 πόντοι- 2,4 ριμπάουντ- 2,3 ασίστ).
