Papadimitriou made her debut in the mixed doubles of the WTT Feeder of Laos

Malamatenia Papadimitriou made her debut in the World Table Tennis Feeder of Laos and in the 2025-2026 season on Monday morning.

At the WTT Feeder of Laos, 11-15/8, Malamatenia Papadimitriou competed in the mixed doubles with teammate Eng Hong Siu from Singapore and were eliminated in the first round of the qualifiers. The Greek champion will continue her efforts in the singles and women's doubles.

At the WTT Feeder of Laos, the mixed doubles had two qualifying rounds. Our champion and Eng Hong had a very difficult task from the beginning against the compatriots of the latter, Yang Ze Yi/Chiang Janel. They lost 3-0 sets more difficultly, however, than the final score indicates. It is indicative that the first and third sets were decided in overtime and in the third Papadimitriou/Hong had a bowl set with 10-8 (9-11, 4-11, 11-13).

Papadimitriou will compete again on Wednesday in the women's singles and doubles. In the doubles with teammate Finnish Marina Donner, she was directly on the board from the beginning.

In the singles, there will ultimately be no qualifying groups, as in the men's, because the final number of participants did not allow it.

Papadimitriou is waiting for the next draws.

Το ξεκίνημά της στο World Table Tennis Feeder του Λάος και στην αγωνιστική περίοδο 2025-2026 έκανε το πρωί της Δευτέρας η Μαλαματένια Παπαδημητρίου.

Στο WTT Feeder του Λάος, 11-15/8, η Μαλαματένια Παπαδημητρίου αγωνίστηκε στο διπλό μικτό με συμπαίκτη τον Ενγκ Χονγκ Σίου από τη Σιγκαπούρη και αποκλείστηκαν στον πρώτο γύρο των προκριματικών. Η Ελληνίδα πρωταθλήτρια Θα συνεχίσει την προσπάθειά της στο απλό και το διπλό γυναικών.

Στο WTT Feeder του Λάος το διπλό μικτό είχε δύο προκριματικούς γύρους. Η πρωταθλήτριά μας κι ο Ενγκ Χονγκ είχαν πολύ δύσκολο έργο από την αρχή απέναντι στους συμπατριώτες του δεύτερου, τους Γιανγκ Ζε Γι/Τσιανγκ Τζανέλ. Έχασαν με 3-0 σετ πιο δύσκολα, πάντως, από όσο δείχνει το τελικό σκορ, Είναι ενδεικτικό ότι το πρώτο και το τρίτο σετ κρίθηκαν στην παράταση και στο τρίτο οι Παπαδημητρίου/Χονγκ είχαν σετ μπολ με 10-8 (9-11, 4-11, 11-13).

Η Παπαδημητρίου θ’ αγωνιστεί ξανά την Τετάρτη στο απλό και το διπλό γυναικών. Στο διπλό με συμπαίκτρια τη Φινλανδέζα Μαρίνα Ντονέρ ήταν εξ αρχής απευθείας στο ταμπλό.

Στο απλό δεν θα υπάρχουν τελικά προκριματικά γκρουπ, όπως στους άνδρες, γιατί δεν το επέτρεψε ο οριστικός αριθμός συμμετοχών.

Η Παπαδημητρίου περιμένει τις επόμενες κληρώσεις.

* Στο Γκρότζισκ της Πολωνίας, ο Παναγιώτης Γκιώνης ολοκλήρωσε το πρωί της Δευτέρας τη μίνι προετοιμασία με την ομάδα του, την Μπογκόρια. Παίρνει το βράδυ το αεροπλάνο της επιστροφής στην Αθήνα και την Τετάρτη αναχωρούν μαζί με τον ομοσπονδιακό τεχνικό, Κώστα Βατσακλή, για το Μάλμε και το Europe Smash της Σουηδίας (14-24/8).
