Athinaikos: Jessica Shepard returns to the WNBA and Minnesota

Jessica Shepard (29 years old, 1.93 meters) will compete – as expected – with the Minnesota Lynx jersey in the WNBA this summer, following her incredible season with the Athinaikos jersey.

Jessica Shepard (29 years old, 1.93 meters) destroyed everything this year with the Athinaikos jersey, after being named MVP of the A1 Women and leading Byron's team to the finals. Her next step was already known, since in her interview with SPORT24 and Nikos Saloustros she had mentioned that she would return to the WNBA this summer for the sake of the Minnesota Lynx, with confirmation coming soon.

As Athinaikos announced in a post on its official Instagram account, the experienced center will compete for another summer in the WNBA with Minnesota, something she has been doing consistently since 2019.

This season, Shepard averaged 26.4 points, 14.5 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 1.1 steals in 34 minutes of participation in the A1 Women's League.

Η Τζέσικα Σέπαρντ (29 χρονών, 1.93 μέτρα) θα αγωνιστεί – όπως αναμενόταν – με την φανέλα των Μινεσότα Λινξ στο WNBA και το φετινό καλοκαίρι, σε συνέχεια της απίθανης σεζόν με την φανέλα του Αθηναϊκού.

Η Τζέσικα Σέπαρντ (29 χρονών, 1.93 μέτρα) τα διέλυσε όλα φέτος με την φανέλα του Αθηναϊκού, αφού αναδείχθηκε MVP της Α1 Γυναικών και οδήγησε την ομάδα του Βύρωνα μέχρι τους τελικούς. Το επόμενο βήμα της ήταν ήδη γνωστό, αφού στην συνέντευξή της στο SPORT24 και τον Νίκο Σαλούστρο είχε αναφέρει ότι το καλοκαίρι θα επιστρέψει στο WNBA για χάρη των Μινεσότα Λινξ, με την επιβεβαίωση να έρχεται άμεσα.

Όπως, λοιπόν, ενημέρωσε ο Αθηναϊκός με post στον επίσημο λογαριασμό του στο Instagram, η έμπειρη σέντερ θα αγωνιστεί για ακόμα ένα καλοκαίρι στο WNBA με την Μινεσότα, κάτι που κάνει σταθερά από το 2019.

Την φετινή σεζόν η Σέπαρντ είχε 26.4 πόντους, 14.5 ριμπάουντ, 4.3 ασίστ και 1.1 κλεψίματα μέσο όρο σε 34 λεπτά συμμετοχής στην Α1 Γυναικών.
