Στο δεύτερο οκτάλεπτο, η «γαλανόλευκη» δυσκολεύτηκε πολύ στο επιθετικό κομμάτι, χάνοντας σημαντικές ευκαιρίες για κάποιο γκολ στην παίκτρια παραπάνω. Με την άμυνά της να ανεβάζει κατακόρυφα στροφές και να κρατά τις αντίπαλες στο μόλις ένα γκολ, Γιαννοπούλου και Μυριοκεφαλιτάκη μείωσαν στο 11-9 τρία λεπτά πριν το φινάλε. Μάλιστα, κατά τη διάρκεια της περιόδου, η Εθνική μας έχασε δύο μεγάλες στιγμές να σκοράρει σε κατάσταση με παίκτρια παραπάνω, με την Ολλανδία να κλέβει την μπάλα σε ισάριθμες περιπτώσεις. Το μόνο που κατάφερε να κάνει στο φινάλε ήταν να σκοράρει με τη Νίνου στην εκπνοή του ματς για το τελικό 11-10.
