Wimbledon: Amazing Muchova advances to semifinals

Carolina Muchova secured a spot in the Wimbledon women's singles quarterfinals with a 7-6(4), 6-4 win over Naomi Osaka in the quarterfinals.

Naomi Osaka may have had a great match against Aryna Sabalenka, but Karolina Muchova played a fantastic game in the quarterfinals and advanced to the semifinals. The Czech tennis player defeated the Japanese player 7-6(4), 6-4 and advanced to the Wimbledon semifinals.

The match began with the two tennis players trading breaks, with neither player able to gain the upper hand (2-2). Both held their serves thereafter, eliminating any threat of a break. Thus, the set went to a tie-break, where Karolina Muchova achieved three mini breaks, which gave her a clear lead to close the set 7-6(4) and take the lead in the match.

In the second set, both tennis players looked better behind their service games. The one who threatened with a break was Karolina Muchova, which Naomi Osaka managed to prevent. Of course, everything the Japanese player managed to do, she failed to achieve in the 9th game, where the world No.9 made a decisive break. In the 10th game, Muchova closed the set 6-4 and celebrated the victory.

Karolina Muchova will claim a ticket to the Wimbledon final against Coco Gauff. The American tennis player won against Jessica Pegula 4-6, 6-3, 6-3 in the quarterfinals.

H Καρολίνα Μούχο έκλεισε μία θέση στην τετράδα του Wimbledon στο ταμπλό γυναικών, επικρατώντας με 7-6(4), 6-4 της Ναόμι Οσάκα στα προημιτελικά.

Μπορεί η Ναόμι Οσάκα να πραγματοποίησε ένα εξαιρετικό ματς κόντρα στην Αρίνα Σαμπαλένκα, ωστόσο στα προημιτελικά η Καρολίνα Μούχοβα έκανε φανταστικό παιχνίδι και πήρε την πρόκριση στα ημιτελικά. Η Τσέχα τενίστρια επικράτησε με 7-6(4), 6-4 της Ιαπωνέζας και προκρίθηκε στην τετράδα του Wimbledon.

Η αναμέτρηση ξεκίνησε με τις δύο τενίστριες να εναλλάσσονται breaks, χωρίς κάποια από τις δύο να πάρει το πάνω χέρι (2-2). Αμφότερες κράτησαν τα σερβίς τους στη συνέχεια, σβήνοντας όποια απειλή για break. Έτσι το σετ οδηγήθηκε στο tie-break, όπου η Καρολίνα Μούχοβα πέτυχε τρία mini breaks, τα οποία της έδωσαν ξεκάθαρο προβάδισμα για να κλείσει το σετ με 7-6(4) και να πάρει προβάδισμα στο ματς.

Στο δεύτερο σετ, οι δύο τενίστριες φάνηκαν καλύτερες πίσω από τα service games τους. Αυτή που απείλησε με break ήταν η Καρολίνα Μούχοβα, το οποίο όμως κατάφερε ν' αποτρέψει η Ναόμι Οσάκα. Βέβαια, ό,τι κατάφερε να κάνει η Ιαπωνέζα δεν κατάφερε να το πετύχει στο 9ο game όπου η Νο.9 του κόσμου έκανε καθοριστικό break. Στο 10ο game η Μούχοβα με love game έκλεισε το σετ με 6-4 και πανηγύρισε τη νίκη.

Η Καρολίνα Μούχοβα θα διεκδικήσει ένα εισιτήριο στον τελικό του Wimbledon κόντρα στην Κόκο Γκοφ. Η Αμερικανίδα τενίστρια πήρε τη νίκη κόντρα στην Τζέσικα Πεγκούλα με 4-6, 6-3, 6-3 στα προημιτελικά.
