Η επόμενη αντίπαλος για την Οσάκα θα είναι η Καρολίνα Μούχοβα. Η 29χρονη Τσέχα νίκησε τη συμπάτριώτισσά της Μπάρμπορα Κρεϊτσίκοβα με 7-5, 5-7, 6-3 και έπειτα από τέσσερις διαδοχικούς αποκλεισμούς στον 1ο γύρο, επιστρέφει για 3η φορά στην οκτάδα.

Παράλληλα, η ήττα της Κρεϊτσίκοβα (νικήτρια στο Wimbledon to 2022) σημαίνει πως για 9η διαδοχική σειρά θα υπάρχει νέα πρωταθλήτρια στο απλό γυναικών.

Την πρόκριση στα προημιτελικά εξασφάλισε και η Τζέσικα Πεγκούλα, η 32χρονη Νεοϋρκέζα νίκησε με ανατροπή τη συμπατριώτισσά της Ίβα Γιόβιτς με 4-6, 6-3, 6-1 και θα μάθει την αντίπαλό της από τον αγώνα της Κόκο Γκοφ με την Μπελίντα Μπέντσιτς.
