Paris - Monaco: Game 5 on the air - Strazel punished

Matt Strazel was punished with a one-game suspension for his behavior in Game 3 against Paris, with Monaco appealing a suspension request in order to play in Game 5.

A few hours before the game that will decide the title in France, Monaco is called upon to manage an extremely difficult situation. The LNB Disciplinary Committee announced the imposition of a one-game suspension on Matt Strazel, as a result of which the French international guard will be excluded from Game 5 against Paris at the Adidas Arena.

The decision concerns the events of the third final, when the 23-year-old point guard was ejected after two technical penalties, having strongly complained about the refereeing in the last minutes of the match. His reactions to the referees and especially to Mehdi Dybala were under the microscope of the league, which considered that there was inappropriate behavior and proceeded to impose the punishment. The punishment includes a one-match exclusion match, as well as another matchday suspension, which means that Strazel misses the most crucial match of the season for Monaco, unless something changes in the coming hours.

The Monegasques did not leave the decision unanswered. The club's legal representative immediately filed an appeal and requested that the punishment be suspended until the case is examined in a second instance. Now the case is being passed to the competent bodies of the French federation, which are called upon to decide whether Strazel will be entitled to participate in the final.

On the contrary, the development was positive for Alpha Diallo. Although he was also sent off in the same game, the Disciplinary Committee decided not to impose any sanction on him, allowing him to compete normally in the fifth final.

Ο Ματ Στράζελ τιμωρήθηκε με αποκλεισμό μίας αγωνιστικής για τη συμπεριφορά του στο Game 3 απέναντι στην Παρί με τη Μονακό να ασκεί έφεση με αίτημα αναστολής με σκοπό να αγωνιστεί στο Game 5.

Λίγες ώρες πριν από το παιχνίδι που θα κρίνει τον τίτλο στη Γαλλία, η Μονακό καλείται να διαχειριστεί μια εξαιρετικά δύσκολη κατάσταση. Η Πειθαρχική Επιτροπή της LNB ανακοίνωσε την επιβολή ποινής μίας αγωνιστικής στον Ματ Στράζελ, με αποτέλεσμα ο διεθνής Γάλλος γκαρντ να τίθεται εκτός του Game 5 απέναντι στην Παρί στην Adidas Arena.

Η απόφαση αφορά τα γεγονότα του τρίτου τελικού, όταν ο 23χρονος πλέι μέικερ αποβλήθηκε έπειτα από δύο τεχνικές ποινές, έχοντας έντονα παράπονα από τη διαιτησία στα τελευταία λεπτά της αναμέτρησης. Οι αντιδράσεις του προς τους διαιτητές και κυρίως προς τον Μεχντί Ντιφαλά βρέθηκαν στο μικροσκόπιο της λίγκας, η οποία έκρινε πως υπήρξε ανάρμοστη συμπεριφορά και προχώρησε στην επιβολή της τιμωρίας. Η ποινή περιλαμβάνει έναν αγώνα αποκλεισμού, καθώς και μία ακόμη αγωνιστική με αναστολή, γεγονός που σημαίνει ότι ο Στράζελ χάνει το πιο κρίσιμο ματς της σεζόν για τη Μονακό, εκτός αν αλλάξει κάτι τις επόμενες ώρες.

Οι Μονεγάσκοι δεν άφησαν αναπάντητη την απόφαση. Ο νομικός εκπρόσωπος του συλλόγου κινήθηκε άμεσα καταθέτοντας έφεση και ζητώντας η ποινή να έχει ανασταλτικό χαρακτήρα μέχρι να εξεταστεί η υπόθεση σε δεύτερο βαθμό. Πλέον η υπόθεση περνά στα αρμόδια όργανα της γαλλικής ομοσπονδίας, τα οποία καλούνται να αποφασίσουν αν ο Στράζελ θα έχει δικαίωμα συμμετοχής στον τελικό.

Αντίθετα, θετική ήταν η εξέλιξη για τον Άλφα Ντιάλο. Παρότι είχε επίσης αποβληθεί στο ίδιο παιχνίδι, η Πειθαρχική Επιτροπή αποφάσισε να μην του επιβάλει καμία κύρωση, επιτρέποντάς του να αγωνιστεί κανονικά στον πέμπτο τελικό.
