Koniaris signs for two years at Maroussi

The team from the northern suburbs announced his acquisition for the next two years, confirming information from the previous days, which spoke of an agreement.

“KAE G.S. AMAROUSIOU 1896 announces the acquisition of Antonis Koniaris, for two years. The international Greek guard is a quality addition and at the same time a dynamic reinforcement of the Greek core of our team. In the season that just ended, he played for PAOK, making substantial appearances both in the Greek championship where he recorded an average of 5.82 points, 2.3 rebounds and 3.22 assists in 22 games, and in the Fiba Europe Cup (average 3.8 points, 1.2 rebounds, 1.5 assists in 17 games) contributing decisively to the course until the final of the competition.

Marousi will be the fourth team in which he will collaborate with coach Elias Papatheodorou, after the 2017 Youth National Team (gold at the Pan-European Championship of Crete), PAOK and Promithea.

BIOGRAPHY

Antonis was born in Chania on September 30, 1997. He started playing basketball at A.O. Aktotiriou and in 2011, at the age of 14, he joined the PAOK youth teams.

With the Children's team of the "double-headed of the north", he won the Panhellenic Championship in 2014. He had previously made his debut in the major league with the Men's team at the age of 16 years and 12 days. He was used for 31 seconds in the PAOK - Kolossos Rodou match (88-81) in the premiere of the 2013-14 season which took place on October 12, 2013

He was then transferred to Panathinaikos where he played for two seasons (2014-16). He returned to PAOK for three years (2016-19). He continued at Olympiacos (2019-2021) to spend the 2020-21 season, at Ionians and the Spanish Obradoiro. His next stops were AEK (2021-23), Promitheas Patras (2023-24), Lavrio (2024-25) and PAOK (2025-26).

He has played for all National teams, has been crowned European champion with the National Youth Men's Team in 2017 and won the silver medal at the Junior EuroBasket in 2013.

He has won two Greek Cups as a player of Panathinaikos (2015, 2016), was twice named the best young player of the Greek championship (2017, 2018), while in 2018 he was the winner of the three-point shooting contest at the All Star Game of the Basketball League”.

Το Μαρούσι ανακοίνωσε την απόκτηση του Αντώνη Κόνιαρη (28 χρόνων, 1.93 μέτρα) για δύο χρόνια.

Η ομάδα των βορείων προαστίων ανακοίνωσε την απόκτησή του για τα επόμενα δύο χρόνια, προς επιβεβαίωση των πληροφοριών των προηγούμενων ημερών, που έκαναν λόγο για συμφωνία.

“Η ΚΑΕ Γ.Σ. ΑΜΑΡΟΥΣΙΟΥ 1896 ανακοινώνει τη απόκτηση του Αντώνη Κόνιαρη, για δυο χρόνια. Ο διεθνής Έλληνας γκαρντ αποτελεί μια ποιοτική προσθήκη και παράλληλα δυναμική ενίσχυση του ελληνικού κορμού της ομάδας μας. Την σεζόν που ολοκληρώθηκε αγωνίστηκε στον ΠΑΟΚ πραγματοποιώντας ουσιαστικές εμφανίσεις τόσο στο ελληνικό πρωτάθλημα όπου κατέγραψε κατά μέσο όρο 5,82 πόντους, 2,3 ριμπάουντ και 3,22 ασίστ σε 22 αγώνες, όσο και στο Fiba Europe Cup (μέσο όρο 3.8 πόντους, 1,2 ριμπάουντ, 1,5 ασίστ σε 17 αγώνες) συμβάλλοντας αποφασιστικά στην πορεία μέχρι τον τελικό της διοργάνωσης.

Το Μαρούσι θα είναι η τέταρτη ομάδα στην οποία θα συνεργαστεί με τον κόουτς Ηλία Παπαθεοδώρου, μετά την Εθνική Νέων του 2017 (χρυσό στο Πανευρωπαϊκό της Κρήτης), τον ΠΑΟΚ και τον Προμηθέα.

ΒΙΟΓΡΑΦΙΚΟ

Ο Αντώνης γεννήθηκε στα Χανιά στις 30 Σεπτεμβρίου 1997. Ξεκίνησε το μπάσκετ από τον Α.Ο Ακτωτηρίου και το 2011, σε ηλικία 14 ετών, εντάχθηκε στα τμήματα υποδομής του ΠΑΟΚ.

Με την ομάδα Παίδων του “δικεφάλου του βορρά” κατέκτησε το Πανελλήνιο πρωτάθλημα το 2014. Είχε προηγηθεί το ντεμπούτο του στην μεγάλη κατηγορία με την Ανδρική ομάδα σε ηλικία 16 ετών και 12 ημερών. Χρησιμοποιήθηκε για 31 δευτερόλεπτα στον αγώνα ΠΑΟΚ – Κολοσσός Ρόδου (88-81) στην πρεμιέρα της σεζόν 2013-14 που έγινε στις 12 Οκτωβρίου 2013

Ακολούθησε η μεταγραφή στον Παναθηναϊκό όπου αγωνίστηκε για δυο σεζόν (2014-16). Επέστρεψε στον ΠΑΟΚ για τρία χρόνια (2016-19). Συνέχισε στον Ολυμπιακό (2019-2021) για να περάσει την σεζόν 2020-21, στον Ιωνικό και την ισπανική Obradoiro. Επόμενοι σταθμοί του ήταν η ΑΕΚ (2021-23), ο Προμηθέας Πάτρας (2023-24), το Λαύριο (2024-25) και ο ΠΑΟΚ (2025-26).

Έχει συμμετοχές με όλες τις Εθνικές ομάδες, έχει αναδειχθεί πρωταθλητής Ευρώπης με την Εθνική Νέων Ανδρών το 2017 και κατέκτησε το ασημένιο μετάλλιο στο Ευρωμπάσκετ Παίδων το 2013.

Έχει κατακτήσει δύο Κύπελλα Ελλάδας ως παίκτης του Παναθηναϊκού (2015, 2016), αναδείχθηκε δύο φορές καλύτερος νέος παίκτης του ελληνικού πρωταθλήματος (2017, 2018), ενώ το 2018 ήταν νικητής στο διαγωνισμό σε σουτ τριών πόντων στο All Star Game της Βasket League”.
