Zalgiris defeated Paris 85-76 in Kaunas and sealed their participation in this year's Euroleague Play-offs.
Zalgiris (23-15) defeated Paris (15-23) 85-76 in Kaunas and secured their participation in the Euroleague playoffs. The Lithuanians took a double-digit lead at the end of the half with a breakout by Law. In the second half, Paris fought and managed to reduce the deficit, but Francisco took over, who with two huge three-pointers increased the lead back to +10 and got his team out of a difficult position.
For the Lithuanians, Maondo Lo (21pts. 3as.) and Moses Wright (16pts.. 18pts.) stood out, while for Paris, Nadir Ifi (14pts. 6as.) and Justin Robinson (17pts. 8as.).
In balance in the first quarter, Wright - Lo stepped on the gas in the second and gave Zalgiris a double-digit lead
In the first three minutes of the game, Zalgiris led 10-6, after an impressive dunk by Wright from an assist by Francisco. Paris tied the game (10-10) with a 4-0 run and a basket by Embaille (5’), and a “three-point contest” followed with the two teams exchanging baskets outside the 6.75, and the Parisians taking the lead with 18-24 (7’), having 6/7 three-pointers. The Lithuanians responded with 8-0, and took the lead again (26-24) with a three-pointer by Slivas (10’). In the end, the French closed the period ahead with a score of 26-28, thanks to a basket by Willis.
The second quarter began with a three-pointer by Ouattara, sending Paris to +5 (26-31), with Zalgiris, however, “turning it around” again, making a 7-1 (33-32) partial lead in the 13th minute. Then the game took on the form of one yours and one mine, the teams alternated in the lead, until the moment when the "home team" escaped with 43-36, after a basket by Wright (16). Zalgiris dramatically increased its performance in the second period and gained a distance of +9 (47-38), with Law and Wright having... a party. The difference went to double digits for the first time with two consecutive three-pointers by Law (53-42) in the 20th minute.

The second period ended with a three-pointer by Robinson, the third began in the same way, and Paris reduced it to 53-48 in the 22nd minute. Wright, however, was unstoppable and with a tremendous basket, he increased the difference again to 10 (58-48), with himself having 14 points and 12 rebounds. The “guests” with a basket by Stevens approached to -7 (59-52) in 25’. The French team found a good space in the third period in defense and offense, and reduced it even more (63-58) in 28’. The period ended with Zalgiris ahead with the score 68-61.
The French reduced it to 68-63 with a basket by Willis, approaching “threateningly” Zalgiris in 32’, and then through its good defense, made the score 72-68 (34’) with Ifi. Francisco put a stop to Zalgiris' offensive trouble with a three-pointer, giving his team a breather at the same time, as he sent them to +7 (75-68). Paris 4’ before the end, with a three-pointer by Robinson, reached the difference (75-73), but Francisco with another three-pointer from 7 meters made the score 80-73 (37’). The home team found another three-pointer, this time from Sliva, escaped again to +10 (83-73) in 39’ and took a huge victory lead.

H Ζάλγκιρις κέρδισε την Παρί με 85-76 στο Κάουνας και σφράγισε» την συμμετοχή της στα φετινά «Play-offs» της Euroleague.
H Zάλγκιρις (23-15) κέρδισε την Παρί (15-23) με 85-76 στο Κάουνας και εξασφάλισε την συμμετοχή της στα playoffs της Euroleague. Οι Λιθουανοί πήραν στο τέλος του ημιχρόνου διψήφια διαφορά με ένα ξέσπασμα του Λο. Στο δεύτερο μέρος η Παρί πάλεψε και κατάφερε να μειώσει στο καλάθι, όμως εκεί ανάλαβε ο Φρανσίσκο, ο οποίος με δύο τεράστια τρίποντα ανέβασε την διαφορά ξανά στο +10 και έβγαλε την ομάδα του από την δύσκολη θέση.
Για τους Λιθουανούς ξεχώρισαν οι Μάοντο Λο (21π. 3ασ.) και Μόουζες Ράιτ (16π.. 18π.), ενώ για την Παρί οι Ναντίρ Ιφί (14π. 6ασ.) και Τζάστιν Ρόμπινσον (17π. 8ασ.).
Σε ισορροπία το πρώτο δεκάλεπτο, πάτησαν γκάζι Ράιτ - Λο στο δεύτερο και έδωσαν διψήφιο προβάδισμα στην Ζάλγκιρις
Στο πρώτο τρίλεπτο του παιχνιδιού, η Ζάλγκιρις προηγήθηκε με 10-6, έπειτα από εντυπωσιακό κάρφωμα του Ράιτ από ασίστ του Φρανσίσκο. Η Παρί έφερε το παιχνίδι στα ίσα (10-10) με 4-0 σερί και καλάθι του Εμπάιγ (5’), και ακολούθησε ένας «διαγωνισμός τριπόντων» με τις δυο ομάδες να ανταλλάσσουν καλάθια έξω από τα 6,75, και τους Παριζιάνους να περνούν μπροστά με 18-24 (7’), έχοντας 6/7 τρίποντα. Οι Λιθουανοί απάντησαν με 8-0, και πήραν ξανά το προβάδισμα (26-24) με τρίποντο του Σλίβα (10’). Εν τέλει οι Γάλλοι έκλεισαν μπροστά στο σκορ την περίοδο με 26-28, χάρη καλάθι του Ουίλις.
Με τρίποντο του Ουατάρα ξεκίνησε το δεύτερο δεκάλεπτο, στέλνοντας την Παρί στο +5 (26-31), με την Ζάλγκιρις όμως να το «γυρίζει» ξανά, κάνοντας επιμέρους 7-1 (33-32) στο 13’. Στην συνέχεια το παιχνίδι απέκτησε την μορφή του μία σου και μία μου, αγού οι ομάδες εναλλάσσονταν στο προβάδισμα, μέχρι την στιγμή που οι «γηπεδούχοι» ξέφυγαν με 43-36, μετά από καλάθι του Ράιτ (16). Η Ζάλγκιρις ανέβασε τρομερά την απόδοσή της στην δεύτερη περίοδο και πήρε απόσταση +9 (47-38), με τους Λο και Ράιτ να κάνουν... πάρτι. Η διαφορά πήγε για πρώτη φορά σε διψήφια επίπεδα με δύο συνεχόμενα τρίποντα του Λο (53-42) στο 20’.
Η Παρί πλησίασε στο καλάθι, ο Φρανσίσκο τα «μπουμπούνισε» από μακριά και έστειλε την Ζάλγκιρις στα playoffs
Με τρίποντο του Ρόμπινσον τελείωσε η δεύτερη περίοδος, με τον ίδιο τρόπο ξεκίνησε η τρίτη, και η Παρί μείωσε σε 53-48 στο 22’. Ο Ράιτ ωστόσο ήταν ασταμάτητος και με τρομερό καλάθι, ανέβασε ξανά την διαφορά στους 10 (58-48), με τον ίδιο να έχει 14 πόντους και 12 ριμπάουντ. Οι «φιλοξενούμενοι» με καλάθι του Στίβενς πλησίασαν στο -7 (59-52) στο 25’. Η γαλλική ομάδα βρήκε ένα καλό διάστημα στην τρίτη περίοδο σε άμυνα και επίθεση, και μείωσε ακόμη περισσότερο (63-58) στο 28’. Η περίοδος τελείωσε με την Ζάλγκιρις μπροστά στο σκορ με 68-61.
Οι Γάλλοι μείωσαν σε 68-63 με καλάθι του Ουίλις, πλησιάζοντας «απειλητικά» της Ζάλγκιρις στο 32’, και στην συνέχεια μέσα από την καλή της άμυνα, έκανε το σκορ 72-68 (34’) με τον Ιφί. Στοπ στην επιθετική δυστοκία της Ζάλγκιρις έβαλε ο Φρανσίσκο με τρίποντο, δίνοντας ταυτόχρονα και ανάσα στην ομάδα του, καθώς την έστειλε στο +7 (75-68). Η Παρί 4’ πριν από το τέλος, με τρίποντο του Ρόμπινσον έφτασε στο σουτ την διαφορά (75-73), όμως ο Φρανσίσκο με νέο τρίποντο από τα 7 μέτρα έκανε το σκορ 80-73 (37’). Οι γηπεδούχοι βρήκαν νέο τρίποντο, από τον Σλίβα αυτή την φορά, ξέφυγε ξανά στο +10 (83-73) στο 39’ και πήρε τεράστιο προβάδισμα νίκης.
